Very nice film on the importance of migratory corridors for wildlife. Pronghorn in Idaho make a similar 100 mile journey from the Pioneer Mountains east of Sun Valley across the northern edge of the Snake River Plain passing through Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve. There they funnel through a narrow gap between the lava fields and the mountains every spring and fall.
Sweet documentary, thanks for your work in putting it together.!! Many don't believe it, but as a hunter I'm all about conserving wildlife for the benefit of us all.
In the eyes of a local. The mule deer numbers have been in a downward spiral for a long time and for multiple reasons. #1 Car collisions. This shouldn't even be a thing anymore. More over passes like by pinedale are needed ASAP. Not the new small concrete box underpasses. #2 stop bush hanging sagebrush on core winter grounds. I bet last winter they could've used that brush. The list goes on and on. I know of several migration routes and winter ranges completely lost in time. Those animals no longer exists. Most locals don't oppose shutting down hunting completely for a few years in western Wyoming
I hope WY game management are focusing on the importance of private and BLM land, and keep the federals out. You let the fedarls to get in to manage the lands and everything is going to get destroyed.....
Fascinating video. Very interesting to see the migration routes. Thanks to everyone who is working to preserve GTNP wildlife.
Wow, I am amazed, that there are still people out there trying to teach and protect, our natural habitats.
Amazing presentation!
