  • Wyoming has some of the longest-distance big game migration corridors in North America, but many of the herds run up against the barrier of Interstate-80, which bisects a vast winter range in the heart of the Rocky Mountain West. We took a road trip to find out just how big this wildlife issue is, and what wildlife experts and highway engineers are doing to solve it.
If you think I-80 could use more wildlife crossing structures, be sure to like this film and add it to your youtube playlists.

Great project. It seems like the fence on either side of the underpass needs to be improved to enable wildlife to complete the "crossings" of the interstate without getting stuck in them.

Such a beautiful film! And so valuable to know that we have insights on how to solve some of these problems!

You're not moving ten ton trucks across the highway. I ought to be possible to make some over passes which use a tarp or cloth type support that would serve to get them over the highway for an affordable cost. They could even be mobile bridges like the military uses / used to use.

Amazing documentary! Thank you for making it! The Trappers Point Project is truly AMAZING! And such a small cost comparing with costs of collision...so many animals saved! ...Brilliant solution...

Mapping enthusiasts can add wildlife crossings to crowdsourced OpenStreetMap, and/or capture street-level images with Mapillary
