The first episode of the Mandalorian is literally the best 30-40 minuets that has been released by Disney since they acquired Star Wars. Space Western. No forced Jedi cameo so far. Gritty yet beautifully made. It's been a long time coming. Next, I Spent 4 hours showing my kids DuckTales, Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers, and DarkWing Duck. I think the app service is a success despite the expected rough start.
Me too but I think it depends on what device your using because I tried to use it on my iPad the first day and it didn't work but I used it on my TV and it worked fine.
One of the reasons I didn’t write off Disney-era Star Wars as some suggested. If this first episode of The Mandalorian is any indication of things to come, we’re in for a very cool ride.
But the difference is, this is a whole new story that they can take in whatever direction they feel like. But Star Wars & the MCU are already established stories they took over and messed up.and at the same time erased or threw away what others have done. If the two Star Wars movies were there own entity and no connection to the Skywalker saga, they would have been great. But the fact that it's a continuation of the past but then erases and changes it, it's what everybody is bothered about.
Warren Mazengwe I don’t see what they changed or erased. People may not agree with or like the direction they went in, but Episodes VII and VIII are new episodes, never done before. Episode IX has not even been released yet, and it claims it will end the entire 9 film saga. We don’t even know how this particular trilogy will even end yet. If you’re talking about the EU, that was never canon. People want to think it is, but Lucas himself said he considered it a separate entity.
@@dr.mofongo9001 Palpatine being alive or resurrected. It makes the previous 6 movies pointless. How do you not see that. That mixed with how they treated the remaining characters from the original Trilogy. Also I am not referring to any books comics or animated versions, because adding book plots to fill in gaps for plot holes in a movie saga is terrible and lazy writing. Not everyone has ornis going to watch or read everything Star Wars just to understand the movie If it's jot in the movie but vital information to understand the plot is left out, you did a horrible job in writing a script.
Warren Mazengwe I’m sure you remember the speech Palpatine gave Anakin in Revenge of the Sith, where he explains how Darth Plagueis found a way to cheat death. Palpatine if you recall, was his apprentice. Makes perfect sense that this would explain his return. As a footnote, Palpatine’s return was explored in the comic series Dark Empire from years ago. I point this out because although the EU isn’t canon, it all had to at least get approval from George Lucas before release. None of us have seen Episode IX yet, which again, claims to not only end the saga, but tie together all 9 films and bring the story to a conclusion. It’s worth noting, George Lucas was brought in to work on Episode IX. I will be shocked it Anakin does not return as a Force ghost, and for all we know, this was the only way to finally defeat Palpatine. Luke Skywalker being killed in TLJ, while it didn’t go well with many fans, might have been necessary because he needs to return as a Force ghost as well to fulfill his role. Point being, we don’t know yet. However, when you consider all this, we could be in for a very cool film, and I for one want to see it play out. If you are that disgruntled with all things Disney Star Wars and choose to not watch, that’s up to you. Makes no difference to me. I myself am going to stick around and see where the story continues to go.
The cliffhanger at the end referencing things we know from the movies is almost a guarantee. NOW based on how much of a roll the past movies will play into the show is the issue. If they make a reference to the past films and then just go on with their own new unique story then I'm fine with that just don't dwell on it. I must admit I NEVER saw that ending coming. The show was great!😁👍👍
I love the show so far, and I'm definitely going to binge once it's all finished. I love this more than any recent star wars feature released in theaters. It expands more on the universe and lore. My inner Disney nerd is coming out too with the Disney plus
You know had this show came out before Last Jedi, it would’ve been interesting if the reason Luke left the galaxy was because during his travels he saw how awful the galaxy became after the empire fell as a whole and wished to meditate on a solution to save the galaxy without repeating the mistakes of the last generation. Idk just me
Wow yes! The score is similar to ROCKY. It was killing me. "Where have i hard this before? Very famous. ...what was that? ARRGH" Then Gurts nailed it! Thanks Gurts. I can sleep peacefully now. I have spoken.
Always had a theory for Rifleman, always felt like the role of his son was meant for a daughter, but the studio didn't want a single father with a daughter so they made the creators change it to a son, but they continued to write the role for a daughter. Because that little boy acted like a little girl and hugged his father way more than I've ever seen any boy hug their father.
You are one of the only reviewers who picked up on the Sergio Leone influences in the Mandalorian. You clearly know movies, and you actually knew Star Wars far better than most of the reviews I've watched. This is by far the best review I've seen --- and damn funny. Sub earned. PS Dave Filoni was the chief storyteller on The Clone Wars, Lucas's #1 pupil and the Director and storyteller on this. Along with Favreau as producer and storyteller - who did Iron Man 1/2 and kicked of the MCU.
Life long Star Wars fan, and I also never understood what the big hype over Boba Fett was all about. I guess guys liked him because he was the strong silent type but I just thought he was boring.
I had Sleeping Bueaty and Pinocchio on VHS my sister's and I would watch those till the Tracking would mess up! LoL. Good Time's early nineties 92' 93'
It released at about 1 AM here in WA and I got on right away with no problems and then when I woke up yesterday on official day of release, it worked perfectly for me all day. The only issue I had was after I watched a couple episodes of X-Men, when I came back to it the next day it didn't keep track of my progress, but thats pretty minor
I was going to just wait until the season was over, pay for like one month, and cancel after I'd binged the show. Instead, my friend gave me his account info, but I think the strategy is still solid. Unless you're in another country (sorry, guys! Pirate away!)

I've been using my friend's account to watch the Mandelorian (which was great), and, while I grew up watching and loving Disney movies, my nostalgia is not strong enough to sign up for an account just to watch those old movies and TV shows. If you have kids or babysit for someone, it's a great investment. But I'm more interested in new shows and movies coming out. Maybe if they are planning more new content for adults, I'd subscribe. And, no, I'm not talking about rebooting an old sitcom. I'm also not talking about rated R content.
Yeah, I’m also using a friend’s account and for me it’s nothing but nostalgic Disney Channel stuff and the MCU. But for 7 dollars, it’s not bad I guess. I really hope they add more Fox shows like Family Guy or Futurama, but they’re probably gonna keep those on hulu instead.

Disney+ worked fine for me Tuesday morning at 2:30 a.m. on my PS4 and my phone. First thing I watched wasn't "The Mandalorian" it was "Gargoyles" and "Spider-Man 94." Didn't watch "The Mandalorian" until 11:30 a.m. really like, didn't like the app was half working at that time but it's to be expected with 10 million people using the app by then.
What I'm looking forward to on Disney Plus is the 2 other Star Wars live-action series. One with Obi-wai Kenobi and the other with Cassian & K2S0. Definitely most of the upcoming Marvel Studios' original series.
@TheWearyWarlord I wish he made new content every month, but the fact that we got 5 Chappelle specials is enough for me. Yeah you are right there is also a great amount of new things constantly coming to Netflix like the Witcher. I personally like all the comedy specials from so many comedians, I may not like them all or watch them all, but I like plenty of them and like I said Chappelle is on it.
@TheWearyWarlord I know what you mean. I personally am pretty happy with just Netflix though and whatever I get with my Amazon prime. But I do have the adult swim app as well and the animal planet app for my son. The movies we like we already own to be honest and anything new that comes out that we like we just buy. Yeah as new things come out in other services if it's worth switching that's definitely something people can do, but I'm pretty happy with mostly just Netflix. There is plenty there for me and my family.

One of the reasons I didn’t write off Disney-era Star Wars as some suggested. If this first episode of The Mandalorian is any indication of things to come, we’re in for a very cool ride.
Disney deserves a chance to fuck up. George Lucas had consecutive fuck ups over decades after the original trilogy.
