The extra boost, 1.8-2.3 is great for added power for such little cost. I can definitely feel the oomph building through the rpm, more noticeably from just under 3k to just over 4500. Though, the benefit that I found most useful is, it makes the power delivery smoother. It feels as if it is the right amount of boost that should've been coming from the factory. This module is a welcome addition in my coming roadtrip from Chicago to San Francisco, driving through higher elevations in the rockies.
Issac, this JB+ has been on my R60 for 6 months now and I still enjoy the extra power it gives you. Keep in mind, it's not a huge amount of power, but just enough to give you that extra "kick".
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic that’s all I need. I want the power closer to 2013 jcw specs without the awd. Intercooler will also be installed to help temperatures. I’m glad you had a good experience
I've owned many of the piggy backs, this is the only one that does not throw codes on N18 R56's anything else would have to be done by mario at detroit tuned. Also the JB+ works a little better if you have a few things working for you for example, intake, exhaust, intercooler, turbo muffler delete, noise maker delete, and a BOV spring upgrade along with a turbo blanket. Those are all bolt ons, the JB+ is more of like the cherry on top that makes it pop harder and take off harder. I've logged 19lbs on sport mode on a 2011 MCS and that little thing with supporting mods makes the car jet. Anything less than a stage 2 its the best bang for the money at 300 dollars without having to go to a dyno or paying a dyno tech.
Ramon, I come from heavily modified Audis and am trying my hardest not to head down the rabbit hole with the MCS. Having the JB+, the MCS is a tad faster when I need it to be which is fine. Hopefully I can keep this car as is for a while.
Harrydawgg, ECU flashes will require a few miles to adapt. For a simply piggyback tune like the JB+, it's pretty much instant and requires no adaptation.
Did you have any issues with using this in the long run? I'm assuming the mpg will be effective, but I'm worried that it's going to cause some kind of extra wear and tear down the road.
Ken, I put over 7500 miles on this setup and there were no issues what so ever. I did though, change the coilpacks and went with a 1-step colder spark plug.
Ryan, stacking multiple piggyback units is a no no. You can though, stack this JB+ on top of an ECU flash. I would keep the boost turned down on the piggyback unit if you went this route.
hi there , ive ordered one of these for my countryman . but im sure it said map sensor on the website are there different models? the one i ordered is for the b48
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic hi yes its the 2020 all 4 s. F60. I actually returned the box yesterday tried 3 separate times and it kept throwing drivetrain faults . I'm in contact with berger direct to see if faulty module or car issue.
@@scotthanrahan6442 sorry to see that you had so much trouble getting the JB4 to work correctly. BMS's products are generally very reliable out of the book.
If I add JB4/JB+ to a Mini One 1.5 (102hp), do I get the same results as a Mini Cooper 1.5 (136hp)? Engine is the same. Or in other words. Is the boost increase relative to the stock map (e.g. +0,3 bar) or absolute (1,1bar)?
Dmitri, if you're looking for the MAX potential, no, this isn't worth it. If you're looking to get a little bump in power that will not get you in trouble, then it's worth the price of admission.

Appreciate you taking the time to do this review. It's very thorough and I'll definitely send viewers this way that have questions about it 👍

I have been on the fence about this or about a year! I think I will buy next week.

Never used one but if you are leasing a vehicle and you don’t own one this is probably the safest way to go
I totally agree. On all my Audis or BMWs with remaining factory warranty, I have ran the BMS products.

Did you have the dial turned to 100% on the JB+?
Yes I did.
Is the JB+ a good addition to a 2022 MCS? The info on the Burger website only goes to 2017 or 2018 I believe.
Tom, take a look at this page. It will show you're good to go!

Nice video thanks. Although 93 ron fuel. Sucks in UK pir premium fuel is 99 Octane. But i prefer your prices . We pay in dollars 1.97 a litre
I've heard that some parts of the UK have great gas! Not here in California!
I've read the chip takes some time to fully kick in. Did you find that it had more boost after some time driving compared to the initial impression?

Hello ViB33, I believe the JB+ only works for the N18 motor.

Great to see that it works for you!
How do you take it out after locking it in place?
All you have to do, is unclip the JB+ module.

You should be able to.
What are you using to read boost?
