In this video I try Arnold's pull up routine where he would do 50 pull ups a day to get a wide back, but I want to make this a hard challenge, so I added 70 lbs extra to myself to put my weight at the exact same weight as Arnold's. Arnold won Mr. Olympia 7 times inspiring multiple generations of people to exercise and lift weights, he is a great actor and politician to name a few of his achievements. Thank you Arnold for all the passion and life you breath into the fitness community. Much respect!

Great video and outstanding effort! Can you tell us more about how you are protecting your doorframe from your pull up bar? I got rid of my old bar a few years back bc I couldn't figure out how to protect the house but I'm missing it and looking for solutions.

Thanks! I got lucky, this is an an apartment that I rent and the door frame is solid wood and feels very sturdy. If you can't hang a pull up bar off of your door frame you might consider getting a pull up bar that screws into the frame, side to side in the doorway. This will make holes in the frame but the holes can always be repaired. If that doesn't work a free standing pull up bar is an option if you have the space for it. I hope you find a solution!

How are you doing pull ups? Are focusing more on pulling the elbows down? Or any tips? I think as a professional fire fighter a quite strong but I don’t understand the technique behind pull ups and it’s more “paralysis by analysis” in my case with the technique.

I do focus a lot on pulling my elbows down and pulling the bar through my chest, even when I know I can't pull my chest to bar at high weights. The pull up style I use is the hybrid pull up (starting arch and finishing hollow body), which is the natural movement pattern of the body for humans doing pull ups because it is the most mechanically efficient way to do a pull up. Try not to over-think it and let your body do the movement it feels is best (which will likely be the hybrid pull up method). Check out this video on it. It will better explain! Thanks!

50 pull ups every day? don't believe it. only way to do that each day, is not doing any other back exercise.

at your level maybe, dont think a task is impossible if you cant do it yourself, 50 a day is actually very average in calistenics

    Arnold did chins not pullups.

Although Arnold did both chin ups and pull ups as part of his training, as well as many other different grip positions, when he says "chins" he's actually referring to what most people know as a pull up (pronated grip). Why he calls both chin ups and pull ups "chins" I don't know, but I'm not going to be the one to tell him otherwise! Lol

@@claytonpuranen everyone back then called them chins even in the 90s. Somewhere after that it got reversed.
