  • Heads-up poker is the purest form of poker. There’s nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, and you are involved in every pot! Nikita Luther battled it out heads-up against Andy Stacks on PokerGO’s Game of Gold. Luther found herself in a tricky spot on the river, even though she had spiked a set of sixes!
    When playing heads-up in a single-raised pot, and you are deciding to lead on a flush-completing turn, it's crucial to remember that your opponent will often have the nut advantage. Since they can have all the suited aces preflop, as you likely would have 3-bet them. Leading shouldn't be a frequent choice in this scenario.
    Andy Tsai or “Andy Stacks'' as he is more commonly known in the poker world is a popular professional poker player originally from Taiwan who currently resides in Los Angeles, United States. Over the last decade, Andy Stacks has established himself as one of the most recognizable poker faces on live poker streams playing regularly on ‘Hustler Casino Live’ and ‘Live At The Bike’. Andy is known for being an ambassador for GGPoker. He has a very calm and quiet demeanor at the poker table and was given his nickname “Andy Stacks” as he always has huge stacks of chips when playing in live cash games.
    Nikita Luther is a professional poker player from India and is a Natural8 Indian ambassador. She has over $530,000 in live tournament poker earnings and one World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet from the $1,000 Tag Team Event in 2018 for $87,902 (she partnered with Giuseppe Pantaleo of Germany in the event).
    Filmed in Seoul, South Korea and hosted by experienced poker broadcaster Ali Nejad, Game of Gold combines high stakes poker with survival reality TV. Over the course of the 12 episodes, the sixteen participants competed across various poker formats, including Sit & Go’s, Heads-Up games, Indian Poker and a standard tournament poker game.
    The poker players on the show included Daniel Negreanu “KidPoker”, Jason Koon, Fedor Holz “CrownUpGuy”, Kevin Martin, Kyna England, Josh Arieh, Daniel Cates “Jungleman”, Lukas Robinson “RobinPoker”, Nikita Luther, Charlie Carrel “Epiphany77”, Johan Guilbert “YoH ViraL”, Olga Iermolcheva, David Williams, Andy Tsai “Andy Stacks”, Michael Soyza, and Maria Ho.
    Round 2 was the heads-up team battle part of the show - There were 4 teams with three players on each team. After one match, the losing team would put up their next poker player. After one team had lost 3 matches they would be eliminated to the losers bracket with the winning team advancing to the winners bracket. The 3 players on the losing team from the losers bracket would be eliminated from the show.
    The final six players competed in a winner-take-all format Sit & Go (SNG). This was unique as it meant there was no Independent Chip Model (ICM) pressure on any of the poker players.
    Game of Gold Results
    1st: Maria Ho - U.S.A - $456,000
    2nd: Daniel Cates ‘Jungleman’ - U.S.A - $0
    3rd: Johan Guilbert ‘Yoh Viral’ - France - $0
    4th: Fedor Holz ‘CrownUpGuy’ - Germany - $0
    5th: Kyna England - U.S.A - $0
    6th: Josh Arieh - U.S.A - $0
    🔍 Pre-Flop Action:
    Nikita Luther opens to 60,000 with pocket sixes from the small blind, also serving as the button during heads-up poker. Andy Stacks wants to see a flop as he defends his big blind with K5o.
    💸 Flop - Jh 4d 3d:
    The jack-high two-tone flop gets checked by Stacks. With just one overcard to her medium pocket pair, Luther fires a continuation bet of 60,000. Stacks calls with an overcard and backdoor straight draw.
    💣 Turn - 7d:
    The 7 of diamonds on the turn completes the frontdoor flush. Stacks donk leads for 120,000 with his gutshot straight draw and a five blocker to the straight. Luther, who still has a gutshot and diamond draw with her pair, calls, and they head to a river.
    🌊 River - 6s:
    The 6 of spades on the river is a huge action card as it improves both players' hands. Stacks hits his gutshot straight draw, and Luther rivers a set of sixes. Stacks now fires out 290,000, hoping for a call. But will Luther make the call? Or will she manage to find the hero fold in this heads-up battle?
    Make sure you watch until the end of this poker video to find out!

      Mr Jonathan Little. Hell, you said pick one, it doesn't have to someone I might realistically compete with! Just I'd rather lose playing with you than Doug or DNegs! I'd learn more. ;-)

    I think hes gonna bet 290K. Not enough restraint to check and opponent might check back as the BB caller probably has the nut advantage with lots of low cards making straights and flushes.

    290k, but I'm maybe a bit conservative in what will get called. Rough for Nikita, but it is heads up & she was small stack. How about *_"Poker Player Gets ACCIDENTALLY FAMOUS For SLIGHTLY CRAPPY H/U Pot!"_* _

    I don't understand your critique of Andy's call on the flop. More often than not his K high is going to be ahead. This isn't an 8 or 9 handed ring game.

    • @AlluckyTV
      @AlluckyTV 28 дней назад +3

      Most of the time you aren’t cbeting the flop with no value or else you’d be lighting money on fire

    • @SerErryk
      @SerErryk 28 дней назад +1

      Maybe, but you won't realize that equity. If you are still ahead on turn or river you'll have to fold to a bet.

    • @RobRochon
      @RobRochon 28 дней назад +10

      @@SerErryk if this was an eight handed game then I'm with you. But this is heads up. I think you are calling with K high a large amount of the time because hand ranges are much much wider for both players while nut ranges are far lower. If you're always folding K high to a bet heads up you're going to get exploited like crazy.

      Jonathan's arguments were: - Rather large c-bet size (1/2 pot) - No backdoor flushdraw. Making it probably a spot where calling is at least not mandatory, particularly in an SNG environment. Add to that Jonathan's slightly nitty tendencies... 😉

    The editing is awful. We’ve watched the video twice over by the end. Either comment in real time or just pause it to do the commentary.
    Don’t show us what happens, then explain what happens, then show us again.
    We’re not dementia patients.
