    When you are trying to emulate Game Theory Optimal (GTO), you should be choosing to 3-bet from the big blind with many off-suit hands that contain a high and a low card, especially when the stacks are around 30 big blinds effective. They perform better as 3-bets than calls, allowing you to apply significant Independent Chip Model (ICM) pressure on your opponents who will generally have a wide range if they have opened from late position.

    $15,000 - 2024 PokerGO Cup Event #7 - Results
    1st: David Peters ‘SilentAssassin’ U.S.A - $315,000
    2nd: Kristen Foxen ‘krissyb24’ - Canada - $204,750
    3rd: Brock Wilson - U.S.A - $141,750
    4th: Daniel Smiljkovic ‘SmileThHero’ - German - $105,000
    5th: Seth Davies - U.S.A - $78,750
    6th: Morten Klein - Norway - $57,750
    🔍 Preflop:
    As the shortest stack playing 3-handed, David Peters raises to 140,000 from the button with A9 of clubs. After PokerCoaching coach, Brock Wilson in the small blind folds, Kristen Foxen 3-bets to 450,000 from the big blind with A5o. Peters calls with his suited ace, and they head to the flop.
    💸 Flop - As 9h 5s:
    A disastrous flop falls for Kristen. She has flopped top and bottom pair but is behind Peters’ top two pair. She fires a continuation bet of 250,000 and Peters sets the trap and just calls.
    💣 Turn - 6d:
    The 6 of diamonds on the turn introduces a possible gutshot straight. Foxen fires a second barrel of 500,000 with her two pair. Peters smooth calls with two pair once more and they head to the river.
    🌊 River - 8d:
    The front door flush draw misses on the 8 of diamonds river, but it does mean any seven now makes a straight. Will Foxen be scared of that straight and check? Or will she put Peters all-in? Stay tuned to the end of this poker video to find out!
    You will also find many poker hands on this channel that contain some of the biggest names in the poker world such as; Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Doug Polk, Garrett Adelstein, Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan, Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates, Fedor Holz & many more!

    Do you think about ICM when at a final table? 🤔Or do you just try to win? 🏆

      I certainly think about icm.

      I refer to Daniel Sepiol's WPT championship win from December. Dude was the only one who went for it and therefore the only one who could win. I also refer to the reality that all the televised FT's I've watched in the last few years have a monster chip leader and everyone else just playing for ladders because the dynamic of ICM. I can't say what I would do as the biggest pay jump I ever played for was like 20,000 but It seems like folks pass up on what used to be a clear spot to try and maneuver their 4th place stack into 4th place even though there's 5 players left.

    I'm just curious when she re-raises, bets flop and bets turn and Peters is still there.. what does she think has got that far? Like AJ or AQ specifically, something like this? If Peters purely had flush draw then he cannot call river bet anyway and why can he not have something like 78s spades... I don't know about this triple barrel and what it wanted to achieve to be honest... maybe even trying to rep A7... i don't know.. confused by the line in general to be honest.

    What medium strength hands could peters have that are taking this line and call the river? 98?K9? A2-A4?
    There are so many sets, better two pair and a straights possible... and a very good Ax would have shoved preflop, as well as a high pocket pair. 76/78 of hearts or spades make a straight as well at the river. I really can't see why we should shove here. On any other street sure...

    • @barygol
      @barygol 25 дней назад +2

      Chech the pot size on the river and Peter's stack size. If she checks do you think she's folding? Not a chance. Peters can have lots of 2 pairs on that board that check behind but he can call with them. Correct all in, correct call.
      If they were 80 BBS deep it would be a totally different hand

    • @NeuroticNOOB
      @NeuroticNOOB 25 дней назад

      @barygol I didn't say check to fold... just check call. There are not many two pairs out there that call and A5 does beat... maybe 98 as I said. 56? Everything else has a straight or is better. I doubt 68, 69 or stuff like this is in Peters range but I have no clue about call to 3bet ranges in this scenario...
      And every missed draw folds, but with the river jam you take away the chance to catch a bluff from those missed draws. They both just bet so tiny until river and let the SPR shrink to a value where they both are pot commited.
      Personally I would just get it in at the turn with A9 and be done with the hand...

  • @YTSparty
    @YTSparty 25 дней назад

    This would be my thinking, check on the river and let him make a move. Or make a small bet. A 7 obviously beats you, but so does any set. He's not folding a better hand but he may fold a worse hand to an all in. So it's very unlikely you get a call with a worse hand, so why go all in?
    But you will get called with a better hand, like a set, a 7, A-6, A-9, etc.
    If he goes all in after your check/small bet, at least you've been warned you may be beat. More information is power.

    I think her river decision is unclear based on her turn sizing I would personally just check call with a hand that doesn't block missed flush draws though I am not sure how often he turns up with them. He's at the absolute top of his range is he not so he's pretty much got to call if she shoves and accept that he loses to a few of her barrels that get there. Her turn sizing is kind of mashing up my thinking and I am not saying it's wrong but with a hand as strong as she has, she can absolutely bet like 375 on the turn and still jam or check call the river pretty comfortably, no?
