your advice to "let them bet" when faced with overly aggressive ppl is killer too, i used to try to out-bully them when i had it but then they just get away, now i tank-call first two streets acting like i'm on a draw and they just throw money at me lmao
If you find yourself at a table where your image has become a nit it can result in a huge upswing if you play it right. 1. It opens your range because people will believe your bets more often 2. By playing weak in the hands you’re strong you’ll get paid off because an agro player will believe they can over bet you off pots 3. If you want to get really fun you can do the following: say you were proven to be a NIT by having to show your cards in a bad showdown or a bad face up fold and now everyone knows that if you’re betting you probably have the nuts. Sneak a bluff through at some point after this and show the bluff. Now your bets are polarized and your range is way harder to read (assuming you played the nuts the same way you played the bluff). This is the spot I’ve seen the best results after the NIT label.
I once 3 bet with pocket Jacks... Some folded some played in the tournament. I won that hand becasue a J came on the flop.. Nobody wanted to play after that lol

I barreled into the guy, missed the flush draw but had top pair on the river. I went for a small 1/4 pot bet and guy jammed river and I snap called only to run into pocket 6s for a flopped set. When he calls a triple barrel down and there is no flush or straight on the board, something should be ringing alarm bells.
There was a video I seen recently from I believe GTOgiraffe talking about there was a correct GTO spot where QJsuited 3,4 bet bluffs and jams alot of the time. I was playing a turbo tournament so not sure if I made the right choice by flatting. Small blind reraising is usually pretty strong, well beyond pocket 6s strong. Anyone think 3 betting would have been the better option there?

At the time I thought it seemed marginally nitty but looking at these charts I understand exactly why he did it. Also, it was the correct fold not just in theory but in practice too - he was up against KK, AA, and AK.
On As,Ks hand, 10,000 seems way to big of a turn bet. Pot bet gives only 2-1 odds. 4-1 odds on either Heart flush or straight. Why make them act correctly, i. e. fold ? Why not give them 2.5-1 to 3-1 odds to call a 4-1 shot ?

From my basic understanding, making a value bet with a not so great hand here makes an easy decision to fold vs a BB check raise. While making the same bet with your best hands would make for an easy decision to call vs a BB check raise Seems like you're trying to get the value from your hand here, while also protecting yourself from ending up in this same spot with a better hand than QQ but not a premium hand
You will lose a lot no matter how well you play. You can't avoid it. By playing well you will lose less often lose for shorter periods (possibly) and be harder to play against.
I think I identified one of the most dangerous thoughts in poker, especially with these kinda of hands: "Well I am chipleader"... Got loose and splashy and ended up loosing a big pot lol
One of the problems we have is the number of YT poker instructors who profess aggression so much. Gil Jack does a great job of playing bluff lines, but trust me, if you try to play like he does, you will go broke fast. He's good at finding that line. You and I are not. Blackrain79 is another guy who advocates hyper aggression. So there is currently an epidemic of aggression out there.

Two hands that get people i trouble are QK, and KJ,,,,,and ace rag,,,,,People call with these hands on 3 or 4 bet raises....
