The guy at ripp was the tech guy and redesigned them. Said the first batch was recalled and are trying to fix all issues associated with that “bad batch”. Said that these are top quality.

I’ve had my 04’ V8 4Runner sport for about a year and absolutely love this motor!. So far have upgraded to a Pioneer DMH-2660NEH touchscreen head unit (which fits perfectly), 265/70/17 General Grabber ATx tires, 2” lift, diff drop kit, and am slowly upgrading all the bulbs to LED. A great daily driver but a bit thirsty (12mpg city). Love the video! Keep ‘em coming!

I just got my 2020 4Runner last month, I’m planning on doing a few mods. I’m going to get wheels and tires, a rooftop rack and I am looking at the tire rack that goes on the hitch receiver like the one you got. I am to go camping in the Arizona desert. I would love to have a pedal commander because like you have reviewed it and has a better and improved throttle response.

I would love this pedal commander for my 2005 black Toyota 4 Runner V8. I use my vehicle everyday, but on the weekends I go to the beach and use my 4 Runner as a prop under cover police car. I have police lights on it and the whole actual real police Siren and PA system thanks to a family member who works in law inforcement. There's always numerous Hot Rods, Motorcycles, and Low Rider cars that video themselves cruising for their RUclips channels. So although I stay anonymous and do not wish to be on Camera, my truck gets all the attention. I tell them to cruise down the street with someone filming then while I come up from behind and blow the Siren, lights, and get on the PA system and say my famous saying, "PULL YOUR VEHICLE TO SIDE" LOL. ITS GREAT. Everyone looks around like where are the cops at. Just a little thing to help them gain a little more attention for there RUclips channel. I know the law says I cannot have that because it immatating a peace officer, however, I not on the street at all doing those things and my lights are all tucked away so I don't draw the attention from Law Enforcement. It's all in fun. This item would surely get me up these hills faster as it's in the area of the Korean Bell in San Pedro California. Come check

03 v8 sport with bilstein 5100 ome lift springs general grabber at2 on fj rims kenwood deck with 10 inch Kicker comp and some sweet seat covers I saved my truck from the scrap yard it had a cracked frame I've put alot of time into welding and bringing my truck back to life but it's been worth it to me even with 20040k on the clock she runs and drives great and I plan on driving it till the frame turns to dust I've always been interested in the pedal commander but everytime I'm ready to get serious something comes up i know it's big on the 5th gens my 4.7 has a fair amount for torque but I live in the mountains and during the summer I do a little bit of towing I also have a lead foot so being able to swap from gas savings to give r the beans mode would b great unfortunately its not enough to convince my other half and now with our 4th child instead of buying headers and a pedal commander to "save mpg " she wants a second vehicle but I'm not ready to be caught driving a mini van idk how I just found your Chanel but the rig u guys put together is gorgeous

Not talking bad about this, (I'm actually interested in buying it) but doesn't this just change how much power is applied for less movement of the pedal? What I'm saying is, doesn't this just make your 1/4 pedal movement be like not having it and pushing the pedal 1/2 movement? Seems like a $300 product that can be bypassed by just pushing the pedal more

    • @TRDJon

There is still the throttle body delay, your statement is true with a drive by wire system, not an electronic one like modern cars.

I bought a V6 2005 4Runner a month ago. For the previous 25 years, I drove a 2.7 liter Tacoma. The 4.0 liter 4Runner had so much giddy up and go that I checked to see if someone had installed a Pedal Commander. I've been retraining my foot to be much more subtle so I don't pull the trailer out from under the boat, but I drive like an old man. I thought about getting a Pedal Commander to use in ECO mode to tame this beast.

Squeezing the most MPG’s out of my 4Runner is important for me. So, I have a K&N CAI. For performance mods, that pretty much sums it up 😬. Got some interior mods as well such as KENWOOD DMX906S, CB radio, Rago modular center console rack and some patches from over the years.

2003 Lexus GX470 v8 here. Sold my 5th gen 4runner for this GX. I actually had a Sprint Booster v3 in that 4runner and it was amazing. It made the 4runner feel lighter during acceleration. Took it off when I sold it so wouldn't mind swapping it with someone who has one that fits my GX. OR if Jon picks meeee, I'll pay it forward with mine. The GX is just so much more refined IMO. Still completely stock and a Power Commander would give it a nice jump start.

2019 TRD off-road premium. Why do I need a PC? Well, that lag you talk about has almost caused a few accidents and I'm tired of it. I'm a disabled vet in a very fixed income and father of 2 kids under 3. I'm coming from a 2001 XJ because I needed something reliable and safe (yes I still have my XJ) and a Toyota 4runner, well, they don't get much more safe or reliable. I know I'm months behind on this but I'm hoping you still get notifications and will consider making an exception. Thanks for the great content. God bless.

I want to do suspension, 285/75R17 tires, front and rear bumper balances, audio , alpharex headlights and pedal commander.
I think Pedal commander will be good for my 4Runner because I want to avoid the lack of acceleration that the 4 Runner has and I see a bunch of videos that it help you to drive safely in the snow with Eco Mode. -3 inch suspension lift, 1.5 inch body lift
    -35x12.50r17
-ARB front bumper with 12K pound winch
-Custom rear bumper with swing out tire carrier and hi-lift jack mount
    -Custom welded rock sliders
-Homemade sleeping platform/storage system for all of my gear
My 4runner spends a lot of time pulling my small utility trailer with my dirtbike all over the place and im thinking about going to smaller tires with all of the extra weight, 35s, and stock gearing. I love my 35s but cant afford to regear right now as im still going to college for CNC machining. I would to be able to try the pedal commander because it might mean I can stick with my 35s and make it a little easier to drive sometimes.
Love the 4runner and your videos, you can check out my channel for a short video of my 4runner in Michigan.

I'm running a 2020 T4R ORP: Bilstein 6112s up front with a Wescott Designs preload collar and Icon Delta joints. Bilstein 5160 in the rear with Icon 2 in springs. RRW wheels and Toyo Open Country AT3s, with a BMC. I ended up getting the TRD Pro exhaust and Lasfit custom LED headlight kit based on your video reviews. Diode Dynamics SS3 fogs. I recently added a Wescott Designs roof rack and ladder (amazing products). I actually have the Pedal Commander, again based on one of your videos, and it is the best thing that you can add to these trucks hands down. I would love to be able to gift one to a friend of mine that can't get one themselves right now. City +4 is the sweet spot.
Keep up the great content man. I like watching a regular guy like me do stuff.

2004 toyota 4runner V8! Definitely interested with the pedal commander! I've got a CBI bumper with winch, full length skids, sliders, roof rack, RTT, suspension, upgraded cvj axles, and a ton of DIY mods. wanting to get some better MPG's if possible! I travel a lot and where I live it is at lease a 4-5 hour drive out of west Texas to get anywhere to camp somewhere pretty. Would love to give this a try and like your install and review of the pedal commander! Thanks!

2020 4Runner Venture! Mods include extra storage and convenience mostly; Prinsu roof rack, LED lighting all around; Roam Box mounted on the roof, BFG 275’s, interior rear window molle panels by Bullet Proof Fabricating. Roof tent and more on the way = more weight and wind resistance, hence the need for the Pedal Commander!

Badass 4runner and giveaway. I have a 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD sport 4x4. I could really use a Pedal Commander, Tacomas are slow especially with adding weight to the the truck. I have added an Additive desert designs rear bumper and a Diamondback bed cover. Sliders and roof rack soon. Also the Yota Mafia rock lights.

Just got a (Red) 2018 TRD Off Road Premium, handle is Swordfish II after a ship in Cowboy Bebop. Currently have full Led interior lights with red map lights for night driving. Currently have Boslla on order for lows and fogs per your recommendation, thank you!! Pedal Commander would be great addition for me because I've got a small homebuilt travel trailer, and don't want to get stuck unable to pass anyone while towing on highways. Keep up the great work, I'm learning a lot from your upgrades and appreciate the logic behind them!

I have a 2004 Pacific Blue 4runner SR5 V6. Currently a college student but love working on my car. Currently have a hidden led bar installed, 2 led ditch lights by the windshield, upgraded to a touch screen radio. Painted the grill black and put raptor lights on. I also put a CB radio on for future off-roading and a 12" kickr subwoofer. I would love to have the pedal commander because it would be very helpful for better gas mileage, saving some money, and just another fun little upgrade to improve my vehicle.
