That was solid surfing. That one long tube followed by 3 turns was the best wave I've seen surfed this year.

A way of surfing practiced in 70's San Francisco/Santa Cruz " power school": gunny rounded pintails, fully weighted bottom turns: sitting down to pressure into a drawn out projection up into the pocket well down the line(without the multiple little mini pumps), carrying into a full-on tube drive or driving downcarve. Backhand has more power in hefty waves! No prissy nursing things along with undergunned featherweight boards. Perfect jams btw! An all-time edit!
Well said, So many surfers do the little mini pumps, use their arms to initiate a turn, instead of their legs, Ride light boards for silly Aerials (photos) that dont end well. This cats laying it down this is surfing. Complete turns before Initiating the next turn..
