This video took an unbelievable amount of hard work and time, so I rarely say this, but I'd love you FOREVER if you liked, commented and shared!! It takes 5 seconds and helps out SOOO MUCH. Also, what did you think of the video?! What's your opinion on the topic??? I'd love to hear it :) I'll be reading every comment.
My general opinion on the topic is: A: I hate TikTok and everything it stands for B: reaction content can be good in some cases, but definitely is a slippery slope if you aren’t careful/respectful And the video is great Edit: In got replaced with is
TikTok has basically shadow banned me for calling attention to the theft and now my videos there get a fraction of what they once did. While the stolen content is still doing great. Obviously everytime I bring this up someone quotes the whole 'but MrBeast said steal my content' thing. Well when you aren't MrBeast and your content needs those eyeballs to pay for editors, that logic falls apart. Also the amount of people who think those accounts are me is insane. I regularly get congratulated by friends on a viral tiktok even when I haven't posted anything. What happens when these accounts start taking brand deals or using their identity theft to prey on fans? I've tried to get verified to at least put some kind of protection up here, but I've been denied every time. I'm represented by a big agency called CAA, even they have been told they won't verify me. These accounts are rapidly becoming bigger than my own. Seriously fuck TikTok. Anyways man. Thanks for the great video and insight.
huh, 60 seconds ago..... It's weirdly otherworldly seeing the comment of someone so well known, when that comment hasn't been moticed by many people yet. It's such a simple thing, but it makes me rethink my own opinions on social status. Like your content and agree with your points tho.
There is nothing I hate more than the "but this already huge and successful creator said stealing is fine!" defense. The only reason they are saying that is because they are already so big that it doesnt hurt them and/or they steal themselves and want to justify doing it.
Seeing you upload something so long compared to your usual content already tells me that this means something to you. Always great to see these kinds of videos.
The payout from these platforms has always been a concern of mine along with the promotion of theft. With how little these platforms pay for these short-form videos, creators have to spam their channels with as many videos as possible to make any income. Since we see a high volume of spammed content, these platforms see a higher volume of traffic, allowing them to take these new artificially inflated numbers to investors and rake in a higher profit. The problem is that creators get paid less, these platform heads get paid more, and we see a degradation in the quality of the content provided on these platforms. This mixed with the meta currently being theft (as its the easiest form of content to spam), only works out for the heads to not do anything about it which is why I'm glad creators are finally discussing it. This video was really well put together. Good job friend
Dw cuz YT is also promoting low quality and stolen content,Tik Tok didnt discover it first. RUclips has been doing it for a few years also and its getting worse + literally has no support,u cant report or complain about anything cuz YT and google "support" is AI with the intelligence of a 3yo toddler.
Sad to say, but as an animator, I know the feeling. It takes us hundreds of hours just to make a single video. I've dedicated my life into this craft. Countless days without sleep. Countless hours of coming up with fresh ideas.
You spend hours of your life pouring your energy into a project and some jackass just stares at it and somehow makes more money than you. Really makes you proud of humanity, huh?
What's interesting here is that even if an animator spent thousands of dollars, years, got a group together, worked on this project with all their heart and soul If someone like Markiplier reacted to it, they would get all the views while having done no work while your animation sits in the hundreds. But youtube or tiktok or any of these sites have always been a popularity contest. it doesn't matter what you do, it matters how popular you are. People will defend popular people as if they knew them when they don't, as if the popular people cared about them which they don't. Some fans seem to defend popular people as if their lives depend on them for some reason. Which always kinda sucks. It would be nice if true good works would be promoted by the original creators on RUclips. It would be nice if RUclips never recommended popular people or reaction vids. Give other people a chance.
I think the worst about this whole ordeal is the "encouraging" aspect of it. It's one thing to have everyone and their mothers do reaction videos. But it's getting worst when the platform in charge of hosting, and paying the content creators, to tell them "That's the right method to get rewarded and if you don't, tough luck."
Especially when the platform itself tends to barely even pay the creators who's content is bringing people back and when it's stolen that creator loses the revenue that could have been theird
@@Burn2themall sucks when channels under a 1,000 subs gets their content stolen by the big ones it just pisses me the fuck off considering they will benefit so much from the exposure but get no credit

I like how you pointed out that social media and content creation used to be separate avenues of the internet, but now they’ve merged. I feel like it helps put things in perspective, so we can get a better sense of where we’ve been and where we’re going.
@@ImNotAzure protesting online's a good start, also spreading awareness to the major contributors (like sssniperwolf) so that hopefully we can get more and more people to not watch her or any other reaction youtubers
Vine was legit miles better in the fact that it was formatted to promote genuine creativity without most of the stealing part. There were like hundreds of Vines I could remember, yet I could only tell you of Tiktok sounds I remember and not the videos that played under them. If only Vine didn’t fumble so hard. Tiktok is honestly so harmful to many of us.
It was a blast doing the storyboards for this one! Thanks to everyone for watching and sharing this, and congrats to the entire crew for putting together such a great video!
So someone who is interested in dinosaurs is not allowed to talk about or learn about any creature from that period? Aside from the ones that are regarded as non-avian dinosaurs?
@@itsgonnabeanaurfromme Sorry if that got to you. I didn't mean to attack anyone, what I intended to say was just that it's not a dinosaur. I would never mind if someone talked about them, and it would be petty to ask that dinosaurs are always separated from other big creatures from the same era. A lot of people tend to not realize though, and lump every creature under the term "dinosaur". I'm just waving a flag to make people notice that dinosaur is a very specific term and doesn't apply to any prehistorical animal, because it wasn't specified. Of course I'm not asking either that it's always specified. I think just a single comment to say it is enough in many cases. However, I would like you not to take it too personal every time. It is a single comment made with no malicious intentions, only to point a specific detail for those who aren't aware that dinosaur is a term that exclusively designates terrestrial creatures, amongst other criterias. If you're interested, here are the other criterias: as you'd expect, a dinosaur is a reptile. However, some of them developed feathers on top of scales for insulation purpose, or for gliding. None of them actually flew, though. They are only terrestrial, although there are a few borderline examples like the ones that glide, or the spinosaurus that lived very close to an aquatic lifestyle. Then they have parasagittal limbs, which means the rear members are parallel to front members. This allows faster running and nowadays many quadrupeds have the same feature. Also, they belong to a group called archosauruses. It includes the ancestors of crocodiles and many other reptilian categories. Finally, they have to have lived during the Mesozoic, also called the Secondary. It's the second era of life on Earth. If a species didn't live during that era, they're ruled out of being a dinosaur. We're currently in the Quaternary era, the fourth one. Birds aren't dinosaurs. Some people like to word it that way, but it's entirely false. Birds aren't reptiles, they didn't live during the Mesozoic, they're not terrestrial creatures and their limbs aren't parasagittal. A better way to word it is that bird descend from dinosaurs, but it's not accurate either. Birds only evolved from a single dinosaur, that was part of one of two divergences of one of the two main classes of dinosaurs. This single animal that evolved into a bird has all the credits for it. The fact that it was also a dinosaur is irrelevant, but people are stuck on mentioning this fun fact over and over. Dinosaurs were separated into 2 categories, "bird hips" and "reptile hips". Fun fact: the animal that evolved into birds wasn't even part of the "bird hips" faction, but that of the "reptile hips". There are many other details that make it completely disconnected to claim that birds descend from dinosaurs. This is the kind of general misconceptions that I want to prevent, even if just a little. So please don't get offended from a single comment made in all good will.
Bro its a comment section on a video, we are more than welcome to quote the video to iterate what we found most enjoyable in the video. Why does every idiot on the platform these days think a comment has to be so deep that is changes someone's life? @gene8447
I actually did the ten minute "challenge" that circle talked about to see how original my feeds were on different apps. About 18% of yt shorts I saw in the ten minutes were unoriginal, 48% of tiktoks were unoriginal, and 65% of Instagram reels were completely unoriginal.
went on instagram reels and around 75% were copied, 15% had some originality but copied ideas or used audio, and 10% were actually completely new content.
@@mishagaming1075they are worse, BY FAR. It’s a good thing cause even I get annoyed after watching the tenth stupid, worthless, Ai voiced video short. TikTok’s algorithm keeps me for hours on the Plattform, that’s why I deleted it a year ago. Sometimes I reinstall it to look what’s going on but as soon as I start watching, my brain starts to rot.
The issue isn't just that you won't watch the original after watching a reaction. It's that the reaction content is pushed more by the algorithms because react channels have a higher concentration of high quality content uploaded faster and at higher volumes than the channels who actually create the content in the first place.
You're making a case for only watching reaction channels here. "We've pre-screened content to ensure quality entertainment so you don't have to! Why waste time subscribing to someone else when up to half of their videos aren't even that entertaining?"
@@trajectoryunown yes I am! This is why they're effective! On a surface level they are a better option! They steal all the good shit and bundle it into a nice neat package. But they don't create! They just steal! And slowly dry up the well of actual creative people to steal from until it's empty.
@@jackbequick Nah, I was just pointing out that SadToffee isn't actually making the case they think they're making here. Reaction channels can actually serve a valuable purpose in generating what's called "earned advertisement", spreading awareness about things that other people might not encounter. It also helps boost entire subjects in algorithms for social media feeds. This works _particularly_ well for little bits of information or advertisement for video games, music, and artists. However, it's intensely negative for long-form videos or content where the main draw is a story... The kind of stuff you would normally enjoy alone and wouldn't seek to revisit and share with friends. It's detrimental in that case. This whole genre is actually very nuanced. Properly thought out reaction channels can create a mutually beneficial ecosystem for all involved parties.. However, poorly thought out ones created with lazy and selfish intentions waste valuable server storage and pollute our collective unconscious. Just like any low-brow content, really.
Great video! hear hear! I wish the platforms would create ways for creators to mark original videos available for reactions with a revenue split (and a way to block em if undesired). There's a lot of technicalities to sort out there, but they've been able to do something like it for record labels when the incentives were there 👀
I'd love to see a "Allowed to be reacted to" and "this Channel allows this" to their videos. It would be a great help to reaction channels to be aware If people can react to their videos and know If they can show the video on their reactions and know If they can monetize It.

Dunno about Circle, but when I'm pissed at something, my drawings of said thing come out real fast and easy, making my "emotional point" super clear, too.
One of the reasons I love your videos is because every joke I could wish was in the video is in the video. You crack some really clever jokes and leave them in the background, without calling much attention to them. Well done.
I’m so glad this is being mentioned and talked about, my good friend AliveWake makes AMAZING video game art. Chances are most of you reading this have seen his Ultrakill, elden ring art or his commission from slimecicle for Jort storm (it’s the art on Spotify). The issue is people keep taking his art and putting some music over it and getting way more attention than he is. He wants to do more with his art and try to be a content creator but isn’t getting enough support and doesn’t have enough money to do so. It takes zero effort to steal someone else’s work and repost it with “omg cool thing” and get alot more attention than the original creator. Idk what we need to do to change all this but there needs to be a change.

I’m sorry this showed up so late in my feed thank you for making this. Feels so validating as a content creator to see others acknowledge how horrible this situation has become.
Vine was the golden age of short-form content. Not only was the content EXTREMELY digestible, it was also incredibly easy to share. I remember vines being used to express certain reactions. Back then, Vine was basically the new version of reaction gifs.
@@eisgnom7383 I think you're mistaken vine with tik tok. The most popular vines were just jokes and memes. While on tik tok, people can basically be nude and twerk. Haven't seen such thing in vine
DarkViperAU made an incredible series about the parasitic nature of react content that I believe everyone should watch. Such a good argument about react content and how it harms literally everyone except the reactor on RUclips. I know of nobody who has actually watched every video without having their mind changed
That man puts so much effort into that series. It sucks that it was misrepresented even before it got made into a video, by a reaction channel no less.
This was a certified knee slapper as well as a really well said, animated, voice acted and overall created video. I've been making videos for most of my life and always did it as a way to self express and to become better at something and the reason I'm making content with creativity to it is because I grew up on creators who made really amazing videos that inspired me to create something in the hopes I could make something as good someday. I feel bad for all the young people who are exposed to low quality and stolen content for the most part and never feel that excitemend and inspiration from incredible videos because they only use youtube shorts, tiktok and instagram reels and don't get that impact that long format has had on me.
I haven’t watched your videos in a long while, seeing the animation you did in this one really blew me away man, this is some really fluid and cool animations.
I agree. As an animator, I spend weeks working on an animation while others make short gag and get millions of views and revenue while creators and artists get pushed to the side. It’s unfortunate, but that’s the internet we live in. It’s also worse when it’s stolen from us.
The biggest thing is I don’t think people realise how long it takes to create videos, sometimes they take up to 50+ hours for just a 15 min video… When you think of that aspect and have that experience, you start feeling really bad for the people whos content is unwillingly getting stolen
@@Darca1n Oh yeah I agree, but by putting it in a bigger perspective you’re able to get people to understand the level of creativity and craftsmanship that is needed for videos to be made.
@@gumerzambrano Well that’s just the problem I’m talking about, if people know the time and effort it took they would most likely respect it more. At this time people don’t
Been watching Circle since the day all the animations we got were just him moving his drawings around plus voice overs. Never been so proud of our boi!
I can’t imagine how long this took!! I also can’t imagine the pain of losing your content to someone else and not being able to do anything. I really hope it’ll change but I doubt it ever will because of how much of it is a uphill battle. Best we can do is keep fighting and hope the pirates will go back to pirating games and not content.
Considering how AI users argue that it's ok to just simply mix a bunch of "samples" together to make a new thing without even mentioning where they got said "samples", or who provided said "samples", I doubt this will change any time soon.
"not being able to do anything" recently, Jacksfilms (which, at this point we all know about his fight agains reaction content) has recently made a video where he mentioned one creator who got their content stolen, but he then reported it to yt, and surprisingly, it worked, his clip was removed from the sssniperwolf video, so there is something we can do about it.
The saddest thing is that YT always had a good amount of insanely creative people but the algorithm pushed many away and the execs decided they want it to be more like TikTok, it'll get worse and worse
Creative stuff gets suppressed so hard. Make something new and passionate? Nah, let's just have AI read reddit or make up stories about videos. Making something with care takes time while those with no care can spam a ton of stuff. And then the crowd just repeats that the algorithm somehow knows what quality content is and that if something isn't being promoted, it doesn't deserve any attention at all...as if the spam and creepy stuff is somehow world leading art.
6:18 this is the stuff that I hate, HATE so much about these social platforms and clone accounts not getting stopped, banned, or deleted (without a way to come back).
I’m sad it took me so long to find this video. I’ll be honest, I rarely ever watch RUclips Shorts (maybe once a month tops) and I’ve never downloaded a single of those other apps (TikTok, Instagram, etc.) because I could tell immediately that it was going to destroy social media for years to come. Even back when TikTok came out, I knew it was going to cause problems, and I was correct in that believe. I am glad to see not all quality content has been erased, but it’s sad that a large chunk of it has. Love your work, Circle! Glad to see someone else touching on this subject matter.
The funniest thing to me was when multiple reactors declined debating and defending their argument against people like DarkViperAU (who has very informative, well researched and strongly argued videos showing in detail the terrible reality of react "content"), and we all know why they declined, they know that they can not in any rational way defend what is the dictionary definition of theft, rather than content
its so f*cking true and its annoying and the worst part is that youtube is forcing us to watch shorts by opening shorts the moment you open the app or straight up put a short after scrolling down a bit
Love your videos. Your sense of humor, writing, performance, animation just *chef's kiss*. Magnifique. Honestly, getting Genie from Aladdin vibes. Thank you and keep doing what you're doing.
I could not agree more, I'm sick of seeing actual talent and effort being overshadowed by the laziest soulless content imaginable, it makes me sick. Thank you for calling this out
Despite all of their shortcomings and problems, I have to admit that Fine Bros did more for reaction content than anyone else has before or since their peak. They didn't just slap people down into chairs to watch videos, they also interviewed them, had them express their feelings about the topic before and after viewing the video in discussion. They also didnt just show the entire video, but just the parts where the people watching had the most interesting responses. And above all that, they also gave proper credit, showing the title and creator in both the video itself and the description with a link. It felt less like a reaction and more like a discussion piece, and I remember that being one of my favorite parts of their videos back when I watched them.
Spot. The fuck. On. Respect Circle ❤️ I can't even highlight one specific part of this video that stood out for accuracy, because ALL OF IT hit the bullseye, nail on the head, and flawlessly accurate. And god damn you're so right about that fucking voice at the end, drives me insane just hearing it. Every day I'm just glad I never fell into TikTok like so many others did (It was even heavily attached to my University dissertation, and it stood out as by far one of the worst platforms, even though I did a shit job of exploring it, I got the gist as to why, with the predatory algorithm part of it being front and center...)
To quote Ian Malcolm (from Jurassic Park), "You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could and before you even knew what you had you patented it and packaged it and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now you’re selling it, you want to sell it."

With you being one of my favorite animators, thank you. It's really sad to see this become the reality of social media today and I feel like not enough people are aware of it and more people need to be bringing this up. Maybe there are, and the algorithms just tend to make sure it never gets pushed to anyone, which is sad. Things are starting to feel so much more corrupted. So with the bottom of my heart, thank you for making this video.
I have seen a single "Reacts" video of any worth, and it was a Coast Guard guy watching a video on the Coasta Concordia. Because the guy actually provided things like further context and facts about seaborne rescue operations. It wasn't just a guy grunting and smiling a bunch.
I've seen a few different types, like doctors reacting to fictional injuries, or veterans reacting to military scenes, that were really creative as well. I like those
@@ihatethisgame6827 Yes, this! Reaction videos can be transformative and this is an example. If you are an authority figure on something providing professional insight on a viral video to provide needed context, criticism, or analysis of ideas can be super interesting content. Most people wouldn't qualify as knowledgable enough on topics that interest them to a degree that they could contribute in a meaningful way. Cinema Therapy, Legal Eagle and Corridor Crew, are three channels that I feel excell at this type of content!
I dont mind react as much as long as theyre actually sharing their own opnionson the subject and making actual commentary and honestly like out of 100 react videos only 2 are actually transformative
This a HUGE problem and why I am trying to stop social media use. It is SO draining by forcing reels down my throat. Tik Tok especially ruined this. Social Media used to be fun! Watching reactions, of a reactor reacting to videos is so frustrating but thats the “meta” now. I really hope that it changes but I doubt it. Which is why I’m scared to even post my own stuff for fearing of me becoming a react video 😭 It’s an endless void and it’s’ frustrating. Thank you for this video!
That's because it's all about engagement so the companies can to advertisers and go "Look how many people watched these videos! Here are there interested to help you made more annoying ads! GIVE ME MONEY NOW!" In the end, YOU are the product. They don't care about the content on their platform, they only care about engagement.
I’m not a content creator (unless you count 2 random videos of me playing deep rock) or proper artist or anything, but as someone who has spent many hours building and painting tabletop minis I can certainly confirm that making something of your own with your own skill and hard work is something that really does mean something to you and I cant imagine how much it would hurt to just have it stolen and remade and ruined by random people you don’t know
Watch parties are a very enjoyable form of social interaction for me. Getting in a discord call with a handful of close friends and watching the stuff that I personally think they would enjoy seeing has been a great and engaging way to spend our time and enjoy each other’s shared emotional responses. React streams seem like this concept except with all the actual personal relationship side of things stripped out. Another thing I enjoyed about react content before it blew up, was seeing a particular piece of media (like shows or animations or game moments), enjoying the everloving crap out of it, and looking to react videos to ride that high a bit longer, to watch other people get the joke or feel the same emotions I did while getting to rewatch the content. While this is a valid use case, it doesn’t really apply if reaction content is made the *first* exposure to the media. One thing I feel would help is normalization of “watch the original first”, if more platforms *by default* had an easy to use link to the original content.
Watch the original first still doesn't solve the issue, these videos of reactions somehow have millions of views, this pushes it in the algorithm and gets rid of actual creators having the possibility of getting their video clicked on, there is a limited amount of videos that RUclips can show a person on the homepage, therefore having any react videos damages everyone.
@@crazydrunkenirishdude6503 I mean that once agein is a bit to broad of a statement. i Generaly dont watch React content exept for one dude Well his Reaction to a Video tends to be 2 minutes of video to React to in a 30 minute video where he Talks about things Relatet to that (In his case he Was a Former Soldier in the Us Military and mostly reacts to things that fit in some way with his Background)

YES YES 9000% YES! While it’s not quite the same, the edutainment coding platform Scratch allows people to remix each other’s projects, but whenever they do, the site automatically provides a handy link to a visual aid to see how many people remixed it, if what you’re watching is a remix, and of course, the original version at the root of all the iterations! And each username on the visual is a link to each respective version! If RUclips, TwitterX, and TikTok had an easy, automatic link to the original and/or the requirement for creators to leave a link to the original source of a reaction or other video, that can certainly help! It’s not perfect, (and Scratch is not the same kind of website as places like RUclips, Rumble, or even Newgrounds) but it would be a good start!
Remember when RUclips screwed over every single animation account by going from favouring clicks to watch time to combat re-reply channels only to later make the whole site about re-replying. Truly stunning
Feels ironic how a content creator can have their entire life ripped out from under them if they use 5 seconds of copyrighted material, but if somebody reuploads your entire video somewhere else with a face cam overlay and saying "WOAAHHH DUUUUDE" every couple minutes, platforms will do nothing about it. Makes me think that it's more about abusing the small creators for money while helping out the companies who are already big enough to be buying advertising space.
Every time I see a good video in a reaction video, I find the original, watch it through, and then like it. Sometimes I even stick around for a couple hours.
Holy crap, you hit *every* single point of issue that I have with stuff like RUclips Shorts! And you kept it fresh and hilarious with the little quips, jokes, and short skits scattered throughout. There were so many points where I wanted to make a RUclips Clip to send to friends, but then realized I should just send them the whole video for both the topic itself and the funny bits
Not sure what else I can say to truly contribute to the conversation, but I appreciate that you, with the massive platform you have, are not afraid to voice your opinions, despite it being an overall risk to your channel's statistics. You have proven that you care more about the state of the world than your channel's longevity. Due to this, you have earned my respect, my like, and my subscription. You deserve it. :)
The only reaction video from large creators I regularly watch are reactions to Nintendo directs because it’s so much fun to see them get excited to seeing sequels or new projects involving their favorite game franchises get announced. Even if I’m not the biggest fan of a certain series, seeing someone else get excited over it, just adds to the enjoyment for me.
Agree, I think reactions to announcements for games and movies are still valid since it's relatively easy to say something of your own opinion for a game or movie trailer. I just don't watch reactions to individual content creation anymore since I'd rather support the original creation.

But it's still heartbreaking that people will spend literally like 1 minute making a video and they get thousands and views when some youtubers spend hours or even days making a video and they only get around 300 views
This video was phenomenal! Thank you for making a video like this. More people need to be encouraged to create in a fulfilling way. Your stuff has really improved since the last time I watched, and you should know that doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated!!
So true. We as consumers must pin point content theft when when spot it and help the original creators by giving them credit, if we notice. Content thiefs won't stop by them selves until they notice a change in consumer behavior.
I do my absolute best to make original content regardless if people watch it or not, and I was slowly feeling like my stuborness of "self made" was stupid and I should do more trendy stuff instead. so I'm really glad I saw this video, it gave me back a lot of my pride in the work I do. Thank You CircleToon 🙏
Holy shit, this is refreshing. The promotion of rampant stealing and lazy "content" is god damn depressing. 9:01 absolutely, the majority of the time the original creator hardly sees any reactor viewers trickle down to them, and that's if they're lucky to be credited in the first place. The boring truth is that this is just an excuse to let these reactors continue reacting and making money.

Another moment where I'm proud to have avoided the tiktok app out of spite ever since it had bought over Vine. This video brings up really crucial pointers to the common lazy content that's been flooding nearly every platform, and the level of effort put in with the writing and animation is always such a breath of fresh air! Leaving the comment in hopes it plays tribute in giving this video that small extra fragment of a push of doing better than those content minefields of coal ✨
Thank you for this, dude. I've been pretty down about trying to continue along the content creator route, and this just pushed me to keep going, at least a bit farther.
what really annoys me is that when you search something up on youtube, like 80% of the time the second autoresult is "reaction" I get extraordinarily mad whenever I see that word or somebodies face that doesn't need to be there in the video, unfortunately I literally can't do anything about it
Honestly a really perfect video discussing reaction content! What you said at 7:47 really summarizes the issue I have with reaction content as a whole: It's built on the backs of people who created the content you reacted to in the first place. The lines of what is transformative and what isn't when it comes to reaction content has been blurred for a looong time now, and I hate that EVERYONE has been doing this. If you're making a reaction video, unless it's a video where your reaction actually matters (like a tribute or something) then it is just not content. It's theft. More people ought to call out big creators for doing this honestly. It isn't just people like xQc or SSSniperwolf who are contenders, even respected creators on the platform like Critikal have been doing this. Really good video, thanks for delving into this topic.
You already had me coming down here to say were twins by telling the drama mongers to shut up but the second you brought up Townsend's, a channel ive been watching for like 8 years now, im actually just amazed. You are a breath of fresh fart water thank you
Townsend's is absolutely charming. It's nice to rediscover some aspects of Colonial America, and I'm itching to try some of the recipes from that time.
I would just like to say I appreciate your CircleToons animators are the main people I look for now on social media, and everytime it’s refreshing to see something new. To your simile with reaction channels being potato chips, seeing a new video from you or other animators is like getting a unique pristine dessert.

hi circie

Yeah, this means *War*

If someone like Markiplier reacted to it, they would get all the views while having done no work while your animation sits in the hundreds.

"WE ARE LEARNING ABOUT THE PLESIOSAURUS!"
The plesiosaurus, not a dinosaur:
That killed me
I'm relieved that I'm not the only one

The issue isn't just that you won't watch the original after watching a reaction. @@trajectoryunown let's kill off the content altogether, right?
Circletoons throwing it back took me by surprise

Great video! hear hear! I wish the platforms would create ways for creators to mark original videos available for reactions with a revenue split (and a way to block em if undesired). There's a lot of technicalities to sort out there, but they've been able to do something like it for record labels when the incentives were there 👀
I'd love to see a "Allowed to be reacted to" and "this Channel allows this" to their videos. It would be a great help to reaction channels to be aware If people can react to their videos and know If they can show the video on their reactions and know If they can monetize It.
@Leeloo_the_fox indeed, nowadays plataforms like RUclips and Twitch are only after the money instead of helping the majority of the content creators.

Plus dem unskippable ads and even when you pick the stop showing this ad option I still get those annoying ads repeated.
Revanced is your friend
I believe the app only opens on Shorts if you close the app while watching one
Spot. The fuck. On. Respect Circle ❤️
I can't even highlight one specific part of this video that stood out for accuracy, because ALL OF IT hit the bullseye, nail on the head, and flawlessly accurate.
And god damn you're so right about that fucking voice at the end, drives me insane just hearing it.
Every day I'm just glad I never fell into TikTok like so many others did
(It was even heavily attached to my University dissertation, and it stood out as by far one of the worst platforms, even though I did a shit job of exploring it, I got the gist as to why, with the predatory algorithm part of it being front and center...)
Thank you for voicing this problem. It hurts me too.
To quote Ian Malcolm (from Jurassic Park), "You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could and before you even knew what you had you patented it and packaged it and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now you’re selling it, you want to sell it."
Bless Ian Malcolm for having some of the best quotes from the Jurassic Park franchise.
@@ABAgamer_ No doubt.
Even before that quote he says, "It didn't require any discipline to obtain it. You read what others had done and you took the next step."
And there's the other gem that I was going to put which was, "They were so preoccupied with if they could that they didn't stopped to think if they should."
It's two minutes of dialogue that is very heavy thinking material.
@@jimbo9305 The more I think about it, all that great dialogue comes from ONE SCENE out of a movie with multiple just as memorable. Goes to show how well the first movie stands the test of time!
The anger at the end was not only his, it was everyones hearing that voice. We all pooled our anger together to destroy that phone.
As someone who makes art and videos, any sort of theft is genuinely one of my worst fears.
great video! im genuinely blown away by the quality of both the animation and the script
Tbf corrupt stuff and that reality of social media happened years ago too but yeah in my opinion the algorithm needs to do better
I like robert idk
I dont mind react as much as long as theyre actually sharing their own opnionson the subject and making actual commentary and honestly like out of 100 react videos only 2 are actually transformative
Nah, it’s still blatant theft and narcissism.
Are reactions ok if people ask permission
That's because it's all about engagement so the companies can to advertisers and go "Look how many people watched these videos! Here are there interested to help you made more annoying ads! GIVE ME MONEY NOW!"
In the end, YOU are the product. They don't care about the content on their platform, they only care about engagement.
At 10:37 you can see a smear frame that makes circle look like a creepy pasta
I’m not a content creator (unless you count 2 random videos of me playing deep rock) or proper artist or anything, but as someone who has spent many hours building and painting tabletop minis I can certainly confirm that making something of your own with your own skill and hard work is something that really does mean something to you and I cant imagine how much it would hurt to just have it stolen and remade and ruined by random people you don’t know
ROCK AND STONE
Rock and stone, Karl would be proud
ROCK AND STONE
@@crazydrunkenirishdude6503 I mean that once agein is a bit to broad of a statement.
i Generaly dont watch React content exept for one dude
Well his Reaction to a Video tends to be 2 minutes of video to React to in a 30 minute video where he Talks about things Relatet to that (In his case he Was a Former Soldier in the Us Military and mostly reacts to things that fit in some way with his Background)
I feel you. I completely acknowledge the fact what a disaster reaction content has become. But I can’t stop watching it. I’m not talking about RUclips shorts or Tik-Tok, but rather about an hour long reactions to my favorite series or something. It’s my guilty pleasure.
@@LittleDanny9899 "Experts React"-type content is honestly great! It's very enjoyable seeing an expert in a field praise something relating to it in a game or animation. There are too many examples to count.
But I genuinely think the world is better with that content than without it.
That doesn't excuse low effort reacts in the slightest, though.
Why not just have all those things be factors?
@@cosmicspacething3474I think they are, it’s just the importance of each is shifted greatly.
Awesome stuff! Very well put together and articulated.
11:18 CAN WE TAKE A MOMENT OF SLIENCE FOR THE FACT THAT HE HAD TO DRAW THAT
my man really made a reference to the big caboose video from let me explain
We can only give our respect to him because he went through this horror
Rip
Oh my god
the fact people actually defend fursuit furries with ugly masks, is crazy
Feels ironic how a content creator can have their entire life ripped out from under them if they use 5 seconds of copyrighted material, but if somebody reuploads your entire video somewhere else with a face cam overlay and saying "WOAAHHH DUUUUDE" every couple minutes, platforms will do nothing about it. Makes me think that it's more about abusing the small creators for money while helping out the companies who are already big enough to be buying advertising space.
As an animator i really related to this video, btw! love your animation style and story telling ❤
I can’t imagine the pain you went through to get all the footage for this…. We salute you soldier
That “ argument police “ you sang was fucking beautiful and I rewinded the scene multiple times just to hear you sing it again
I just don't watch reactions to individual content creation anymore since I'd rather support the original creation.
this is an instant add to my Favorites playlist- you make fantastic points, and WOW is the animation even more incredible than your usual high bar of great stuff. Could tell before reading your comment that yeah this took a lot of effort! and it paid off! proud of how far you've come from the simple dragging-around-a-face-in-Photoshop videos in terms of animation (because the humor has always been phenominal)! cheers! :)
After taking some time away from being online, it really feels refreshing to not have a constant noise. I feel ya on the part about how accessible it is to create and share now: it’s great for many creative people, but it’s also allowed plenty of junk to surface, because it is also rewarded. These are all things I think about, every point you brought up is important to consider. Thanks for sharing your thoughts (I will now proceed to steal- uh, I mean react to this video)! ☺️
I think it’s pretty cool how he puts so much emotion into his voice acting. It makes me feel all good inside
I think I liked this video but I wish I had somebody to watch this video for me and tell me how I should feel about it 😔😔
My playlist of videos where people are speaking out against plagiarism and the miserable state created by the current nature of online "content" has another perfect addition. Really, truly hope videos like this will continue to be made, recieve the attention they deserve and by proxy allow viewers and consumers the chance to understand the problem and strive to fix it or at least not add to it. Great work circle.
You wouldn't happen to have a link to that playlist, would you?
DarkviperAU is the goat of trashing on reactors
Pure gold, Nothing else to add. I'm 110% agreing with you and I always try to watch the original vid.
You are amazing and your contents always been great.
I usually only watch reaction content if it’s about something I enjoyed watching/playing. It gives me the same warm feeling you get when showing a friend a video and seeing them enjoy it.
I can imagine reaction channels stretching this 15 min video to 1 hour
That would require them to add something new.
@@Kokong All it takes is a couple of bathroom breaks, stop the video a few times and ask chat what they think about it and say "That's crazy" a few times.
Some do, notably Asmongold tends to pause every 5 minutes and ramble on for 15
But you're 100% right that there are some that will leave the video running while AFK
@@hipunpuneven then, he is still one of the worst offenders, he takes the entire video, talks about the same video DURING the video, it’s a direct substitute for the original, and he shamelessly reuploads these stolen videos multiple times a day
This video but every minute it's interrupted by family guy funny clips
Definitely feel the point at 7:35, I’ve made a few commentary videos like that where I react to Dhar Mann clone videos and even though I threw in jokes and stuff I still felt like I didn’t actually “make” anything. I’m more proud of my 7 second sh*tposts than those videos. This video so good and I can’t imagine how long it took but thank you and the goblin team for making it 🙏
Talentlesswriter sighting
The fact that low effort youtubers make so much money is honestly impressive.
But it's still heartbreaking that people will spend literally like 1 minute making a video and they get thousands and views when some youtubers spend hours or even days making a video and they only get around 300 views

Sometimes after I watch a video, RUclips recommends reactions to the very video I watched and every time I see it I’m thinking “WHAT THE 🦆”
This video was phenomenal! Thank you for making a video like this. More people need to be encouraged to create in a fulfilling way. Your stuff has really improved since the last time I watched, and you should know that doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated!!
You know I absolutely hate vertical videos, I avoid them as much as possible.
here, here! They look disgusting and often act like cognitive poison.
Same, they're a disgusting aspect ratio
So true.
We as consumers must pin point content theft when when spot it and help the original creators by giving them credit, if we notice.
Content thiefs won't stop by them selves until they notice a change in consumer behavior.
That run before "YOU WONT!!!!" was crispy
I do my absolute best to make original content regardless if people watch it or not, and I was slowly feeling like my stuborness of "self made" was stupid and I should do more trendy stuff instead. so I'm really glad I saw this video, it gave me back a lot of my pride in the work I do.
Thank You CircleToon 🙏
You should do some real work.
You have less than 30 subscribers lol, your opinion doesn't mean shit
This is a great video about this conversation, I hope it reaches a lot of people and thank you animators for continuing to make such smooth art.
Holy shit, this is refreshing. The promotion of rampant stealing and lazy "content" is god damn depressing.
9:01 absolutely, the majority of the time the original creator hardly sees any reactor viewers trickle down to them, and that's if they're lucky to be credited in the first place. The boring truth is that this is just an excuse to let these reactors continue reacting and making money.
the unhinged skit with the cop earned my follow and the informational portions will keep me around. Thank you for sharing this and working so hard to animate this.
14:32 okay i love how expressive this moment is both animation-wise and voice acting-wise. Like it’s just too good I get like Genie from Aladdin vibes rn it’s so good
Another moment where I'm proud to have avoided the tiktok app out of spite ever since it had bought over Vine.
It didn't buy Vine, It vaugth Musicly
Thank you for this, dude. I've been pretty down about trying to continue along the content creator route, and this just pushed me to keep going, at least a bit farther.
what really annoys me is that when you search something up on youtube, like 80% of the time the second autoresult is "reaction"
I get extraordinarily mad whenever I see that word or somebodies face that doesn't need to be there in the video, unfortunately I literally can't do anything about it
It really feels refreshing to see such a brutally honest video like this being updated, keep it going bro.
I absolutely hate when I’m searching for a song in the search bar and RUclips autocorrects it to a “reaction” of that song. Like, why?
Shit, just finished this vid and I had to stand up and applaud you. You have all the ethic that all other content makers have missing.
You already had me coming down here to say were twins by telling the drama mongers to shut up but the second you brought up Townsend's, a channel ive been watching for like 8 years now, im actually just amazed.
You are a breath of fresh fart water thank you
I've pointed at the monitor hearing Townsend :O
Townsend's is absolutely charming. It's nice to rediscover some aspects of Colonial America, and I'm itching to try some of the recipes from that time.
Fresh what now
I would just like to say I appreciate your CircleToons animators are the main people I look for now on social media, and everytime it’s refreshing to see something new. To your simile with reaction channels being potato chips, seeing a new video from you or other animators is like getting a unique pristine dessert.
