THANK YOU REALLY THANK YOU VERY MUCH, THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH, I could not find good tutorials of this solo, but this one served me too much, well explained and concise, now that I see the fingering and I only need to practice it with the backing track and rock, thank you very much!
@@PDXguitarfreak i return home on november 10th (sunday) planning on recording many types of videos (including an original riff+solo I wrote that i would love some feedback on that week and in November in general)
good stuff, one of my fav solos. i learned it using RTM's tutorial, he does it pretty much how you do, i appreciate the up/down stroke markings on your tab
Cool man! Revisiting this solo today. That whole tricky part is really just Marty playing around with a G major arpeggio, and if I had a guitar with 24 frets id probably be more inclined to just sweep down the last g major bit. Nice playing and thoughtful tutorial, love how you present alternate methods for playing some of the licks.
Thank you! My brain just is too slow (or vice versa) than my fingers for the solo transitions and your transpose to staying on one string was golden! 🤟🏼
Hey Dave, I was wondering if you could give me an idea if your practice routine? I meam do you have one, ir what does a practice session look like for you? I ask because you are such an amazing player...Honestly in my top two of the Tube...and you are smooth and thourough, not to mention a bitchin vibrato! Andy, I am curious how you learn things so thourough? For example, I consider my self a pretty proficient player but I have a hard time learning entire solos, pieces of music etc, but especially solos. I feel like I just want to pearb so many things that I end up learning a new solo, lose interest, learn another part of one, find one I like better or seem to have more interest in, etc, etc...My point is, how do you stay so seemly focused? I feel that is one aspect of your playing that makes you playing so smooth, accurate, and in the pocket! So any advixr wouod ve appreciated, and as always you Rock On!....Nice catch phrase too bro!
Hey Andrew, I really don't have a practice routine. I generally practice by learning new stuff. I occasionally try to put myself through exercises and stuff, but I usually just get bored, and want to just jam and/or learn stuff. Anyway, I appreciate the very kind words and it means a lot :)
Hey Freak thanx for the lessons and useful info... Not sure if you will see this comment but have you ever done any Buckethead stuff this guy is amazing if you have time check him out maybe you could tackle Soothsayer its a cool jam Thanx again for your vids
I think he was announcing the sale of it, but did he sell it? If he did he could have always been working on the video while he had the guitar and just released it now...just a thought...
@@PDXguitarfreak may I ask why you sold it? I'm about to order the same guitar from sweetwater. Any thoughts on the guitar? Thank you for your time and awesome lesson!!!
Hi, this is my only lesson for this solo. If you are referring to the performance video I did of the entire song, than I say this video is the correct version :)
Thank you! I've seen it tabbed that way many times for sure... but when I slow down the original track to 50% speed, it sounds like a 1/2 step bend on G string. Regardless, I think either way will get people close enough :) Cheers!
You point out something i found out with tabs. The tabs may use the correct notes but sometimed they are more difficult to play, unnatural. So after using the aid of tabs i change it up to a more comfortable natural way.
Awesome!!! You nailed this solo man: great job!!
Thanks wolfman! :)

Quite the fix, Sensei!! What an amazing solo and tune!! Love those oriental notes peppered here and there.
Rock on Bro!!
Hi JC, thanks bro! I love Marti's exotic feel to the solos :)

Right on bro - I look forward to hearing it! :)

You know why you are a beast ? It's because you can play all sorts of different styles with the feel of the original writers.
Nice lesson as always!well done!
Thank you! :)
Best cover on RUclips! 👍👍

Dude that was perfect. I thought you sold that guitar?
I think he was announcing the sale of it, but did he sell it? If he did he could have always been working on the video while he had the guitar and just released it now...just a thought...
This is the guitar that I sold, and Andrew was right - I recorded this video a few weeks ago, and finally got around to editing it. :)
@@PDXguitarfreak may I ask why you sold it? I'm about to order the same guitar from sweetwater. Any thoughts on the guitar? Thank you for your time and awesome lesson!!!
Are the tabs on the video the correct way you have put, or the other tabs from the previous video?
Hi, this is my only lesson for this solo. If you are referring to the performance video I did of the entire song, than I say this video is the correct version :)
I call this solo the arpeggios from hell. Definitely struggled learning it. I am still nowhere near perfect. Any tips for speed and precision?
You played it different than the hired gun in the guitar center sessions with mustaine.
Awesome could u do crazy babies -ozzy
Sounds great! When did you lose the wig and glasses?!?
Fuck yah PDX! How do I always get the first comment and view? ma LOL! Rock on PDX
LOL thanks bro :) 👍
Well done! In the second last tab section, the half step bend on the G string is actually played on the 13th fret instead of the 12th. Try it out!
Thank you! I've seen it tabbed that way many times for sure... but when I slow down the original track to 50% speed, it sounds like a 1/2 step bend on G string. Regardless, I think either way will get people close enough :) Cheers!

Yeah that's so true. Sometimes the tabs are written in such a way that it's really uncomfortable to play :)
Hey man I just posted a cover of this solo that I learned from your lesson. I would really appreciate it if you would give me some feedback on it!
Hi Josh, nice shirt! :) The playing was pretty good bro!
Thanks man I appreciate it! I live in Eugene so half of my shirts are duck related haha, great lesson though👍
