Hotel California - Guitar Solo Lesson! Note-for-Note with Tabs!

  • Usually I start the video with a full performance of the solo I am teaching. However, the music publisher that owns the rights to the song made me remove it. Apparently, they thought it sounded too close to the original. I should be flattered, but it is a bit upsetting given the time and energy it took to pull it together properly. Oh well, I hope you enjoy this lesson :)
    Interested in my custom tabs for this? Keep reading below.
    If you would like to support the channel, you can send me a message and donate following this link: www.paypal.me/PDXguitarfreak
    I appreciate any support as these videos take a significant amount of my free time to create. Rock on! :)
    Want to purchase a copy of the custom guitar solo tabs I display in this video (plus the onscreen tips I added)? The price is $3.99. Here are the directions:
    1) Go to my PayPal transaction site: www.paypal.me/PDXguitarfreak
    2) Click on the Send button
    3) Enter the US dollar amount I listed for this video: $3.99
    4) Add a Note, including the name of this song or video, and also your email address.
    After I have received confirmation on my end, and everything looks good, I will email you a copy. Thanks!

    There are just no words to express just how incredibly AWESOME this lesson is!!! The notation is pure perfection....the way it's sectioned off and your ability to play it absolutely perfect both a slow speed and up to speed is truly AMAZING!!! I just wanted to say thank you a million times over for this, as well as, sharing your talent with us guitarist hoping to reach your level of playing one day!!

    Fantastic! ive been looking for a guide for this and the fact that you go through it slowly step by step is a really great way of teaching. I find the sections really helpful is it puts what your playing into your mind, and the fact that the whole solo is all in one video is really helpful so thank you very much!

I rate a tutorial as successful when you get to learn more than just the song.. You have really good technique and your tone and timing is really great aswell... Thanx for sharing.

    Can you unpack the solo for the Beatles' "She's a Woman"? Lots of lessons out there that either don't quite do it right or do it right, but skip the technique of how to do it. From how you covered this one, I know you are the one to do it and teach it right. Please?

    I follow your tabs on Hotel California solo, I noticed that yours is so much different to most on RUclips. Its hard to know if we are learning it correctly if we cant hear your version played by yourself. The Harmony section is the one that really is off the scale compared to everyone else playing it. I love yours as it seems the easist but not sure if its correct.

    • @PDXguitarfreak
      @PDXguitarfreak  7 месяцев назад +2

      RUclips was forced to remove my original video that included the performance, by someone claiming to own the rights to the original song. Apparently, my performance was too close to the original 😉. However, because of your request, I have uploaded a video on the Rumble website, showing me perform the solo. Because it is a new upload over there, it is not showing up in searches, but you can use this web address: rumble.com/v3q5wn7-hotel-california-guitar-solo-with-tabs.html

    • @PDXguitarfreak
      @PDXguitarfreak  Месяц назад

      I am 100% confident it starts at the 3rd fret. If you have the capability to do so, try taking the original track and slowing it down to somewhere between 50 and 75% speed. Then isolate that slide and listen carefully. Thanks, and best of luck to you in learning the solo :)
