@@allysanchez7275 well it was a satirical view on the stereotypical mother-in-law figure. But each of Flintstones iteration gave a reason for the hater between Fred and Pearl with the main reason being the social status difference. Wilma, although not cinsidered rich, she was supposed to be certainly wealthier than Fred and thus resulting in Pearl never seeing Fred as the suitable suitor for her daughter.

I was watching Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf (1966) last night, and Taylor was IDENTICAL to what she looked like here. Then I found out that she was aged with makeup in that movie. Dayum!

0:52 Fred Flintstone that's no way to talk about your mother in law even if it's true

"He robs your nest egg to bail out that little troll next door!" Because that so-called little troll next door happens to be Fred's best friend. Not to mention the fact that the wife of that so-called little troll next door happens to be Wilma's best friend. Not only that, you forget that Fred lent that money to the Rubbles so they could adopt a baby, so Fred did a really good deed there!

Exactly!!! I never really liked that part. Didn't feel right for the character to say and certainly not for Elizabeth! She had such a gracious heart, I wonder why she accepted to say that.

@@s.dekaza_fashion one of the downsides of acting. You can be forced to say things that [can] go against your grain. In "Rush Hour 2", Chris Tucker didn't want to call a woman 'bitch.' There were takes where he would say something different, but he was strictly instructed to say 'bitch.' He [obviously] eventually gave in.

@@Sal_Sal27 oh yes I'm pretty positive there are numerous downsides to every job one likes! Unfortunately this is one's for acting!
