"I wish I could bring Maro out here but he hates the outdoors...and people" Same energy Maro I feel you
I like the outdoors, but you got me on the other one 😁
Maro is my new spirit animal
I am Maro.
I used to walk my cats. We even own a stroller. 🤣 I lost my friendliest boy, but am hoping to take his sister out again one of these days.
We are all Maro
Nadine seems like such a kind, happy person
🥰❤️
@@cinematicjapan Ahh, you have a channel!! 💗
Agreed
@@cinematicjapan she sure is!
I thought the same thing, she looks so sweet, I want a friend like her
When my husband and I bought our house, I didn't notice for a year, but there is a tree in the backyard and it looked weird in spring so I took a closer look. Here it is a cherry tree with a grafted weeping cherry(sakura) tree on it so it had white blossoms on normal branches and then these weeping branches with pink blossoms!
That sounds gorgeous.
I’ve never been in Japan during cherry blossom season, such a big bucket list thing for me (I’ve been during summer and winter) but I know the timing is so hard to get right 🥺 thanks for bringing us along ❤️
I’ve always wanted to go to Japan but plane tickets are about $2k usd.
Exactly!! And then when my friends and I managed to book a trip around that time, covid happened..... such a bummer.
I've always heard autumn is just as beautiful as spring, too. The autumn leaves are said to be amazingly vivid.
@@Lisallamaa it is!! I always tell people to go there in autumn, I actually liked it as much if not more!
桜ってほんま最高やなあ。心が落ち着くわ。桜の下で猫を散歩させられたらもう天国やわ。
Such a fun week of Cherry Blossoms! 😍😍😍 Loved adventuring with you! 🌸 Thanks for having me along on the adventure!!
Thanks for hanging and showing me all the best spots in Sendai!! Looking forward to autumn trips already🥳👏🏻👏🏻
@@sharlainjapan autumn already?? We gotta get through Tanabata first, my favorite festival!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍🎋
13:34 It looks like peach given the grouping. Generally plum will be more like individual flowers across branch with almost no stem, peach would be more like pairs across branches, while cherry/sakura more like bouquet grouping on the edge of small stems from larger branch. Sakura flower also should have small cleft on the petals, while peach is teardrop and plum is more rounded. CMIIW.
Man, I was looking for this comment! Thank you!!
I have an ornamental plum tree in my yard and they look very similar to sakura in a way except a lot smaller
I also agree that these are peach! Also, peach bloom later than both plum, apricot or cherry.
Luckily Apricot and Almond flowers should be rarer in Japan, otherwise it will be even more difficult to differentiate.
I don't know why, but there's something about these seasonal festivals that just gives me a VERY peaceful vibe.
I really don't know why. I've never been to one, but just seeing it already gives me that wave of calm xD
Loved it.
Maybe because the festival takes place in nature? But also like the lanterns
I really hope that Japan can open tourist entry by the Summer. Been really wanting to visit Japan for a while now. Just now getting the courage to go myself. One day I would love to be able to drink some coffee while sitting under a cherry blossom.
Nadine is adorable! Thanks for showing us all the trees, I can never get over how beautiful they are!
🥰🥰✨
My favorite memory in japan was coming across a festival and getting to try mitarashi dango :)
my goal is to try wagashi next time i visit japan, i always see it in your videos but never tried it yet! love the cherry blossoms
The color of those trees is absolutely stunning! I really have to visit Japan during Sakura season!
"I wish I could bring Maru out here to enjoy the park and the people, but he hates outside. And people." --such an iconic pet-parent experience.
Everyone goes crazy for the cherry blosoms, but I'd really like to go check the plum blossoms and wisteria too! I think the Wisteria would be pretty amazing!
I've heard of a wisteria tunnel in Japan with blue, purple, and white wisteria (I think pink too, but can't be sure). It's GORGEOUS.
Dare I say? I like plum blossoms more - so many colors. There are also hydrangea and spider lilies.
The wisteria and plum blossoms are just as spectacular as the sakura. ^^
The plum blossoms, while beautiful, tend not to encompass such huge areas as Sakura. I find Sakura more beautiful less because of the actual blossoms themselves, and more because the huge forested areas of pink are just so enchanting! There are a few larger plum spots here and there, but since they bloom earlier than cherry blossoms, all the flower viewing people tend to flood those few areas while waiting for Sakura to bloom.
Wisteria are wonderful as well- I just visited the famous wisteria park in Tochigi last week. However, since they are much less common, the spots to see them tend to be extremely crowded, so keep that in mind! The thing with wisteria is that that generally need a lot more care (and support structures) than Sakura or plum, so it’s pretty rare to find big and beautiful wisteria that are in unknown areas.
That being said, I love all three and make trips every year to see them all! Sakura just has the most bang for the buck!
Gosh, your in and out of focus shots are stunning. The first shots alone have made me want to see the cherry blossoms X1000 more!
Those are all James!! He’s super talented🥳👏🏻
Your friendship with Nadine is also blossoming! I remember your Pokémon manhole hunt, you had so much fun.
She’s the best! So glad we met🥰
@@sharlainjapan nawww me too! 🌸
I love that Japanese sweets are not excessively sweet.
I've been wanting to visit Japan for years now, and channels like yours and AIJ and Tokidoki help give a really lovely glimpse into life over there, and also helps with a healthy sense of escapism :D
This looked like a lot of fun and can I just say, Nadine is so adorable.
🥰🥰 awww thank you!
Isn’t she!? So sweet!
Ikr? She's so adorable!
I’m in Tokyo now - but I think I just missed the cherry blossom season 😞! I can’t wait to create my own memories in this country! Your videos are so helpful! 🥰 hello from a small RUclipsr ☺️🇵🇭💖
👋🏻🥰🥰✨
We’ve got Sakura trees dotted about here in Scotland and I absolutely adore them! They’re so stunning! 🥰👌
You have no idea how much I really needed this video right now we’re moving and one of our cats is lost and she’s been lost for three days and I’m so upset I really needed something to take my mind off of it, thank you.
I really hope your cat returns safely soon
I’m so sorry I really hope you find her soon🥺🙏🏻❤️
😭 ❤️🙏 praying your cat comes back!
I strive to be as happy as Nadine!
❤️❤️❤️🥰✨🌸❤️
I love videos around Sakura season, they're so pretty. I really hope to visit Japan one of these years during Sakura season.
Also, I love how you noticed the person walking their cat.
I've been to Japan a couple of times, but never in the spring for the cherry blossoms. Hoping to get back there one day. Nostalgia hit and now I'm reading through the journal from my first trip there 18 years ago.
❤️
Nadine was always smiling, 100% I know she's a nice and positive person!
Woohoo on the way to 1 Million subscribers! 😘❤️
One day!! 🥳🌸
@@sharlainjapan I‘m sure it will happen this year! 😬
I‘m routing for you! ❤️
It's nice to see you met Nadine pokemon hunting & made friends with each other 😊🌸
That mochi roll thingy looked so yummy!! I love how you got so excited over seeing the cat in the park (I would be too!) 🙂 so nice also that Nadine got to join another video! Looks like you made a new friend! ❤️
🥰✨
Wow! Why am I not there? Two beautiful girls during the Cherry blossom festival doesn't get any better than this! Great photography even better editing!
It was such a fun day! Thanks so much for inviting me out again!
Thanks for coming all the way up to join!! So glad you could make it🥳🌸🌸
gorgeous sharla
Thanks for watchingggg 🥺💖💖🌸
@@sharlainjapan why the sad 🥺 face though??
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again.
Your videos just make me happy. I truly thank you for bringing us along. 🌸
Thank you for watching!! Appreciate you!! 🙆♀️🌸
I really miss Japan 🇯🇵 especially the cherry blossom 🌸 I got a chance to visit Japan in 2006 and I got to see a little bit of the cherry blossom event they were not in full bloom because our group arrived a bit late but it was still beautiful 😍 Thanks for sharing this beautiful moment with us.
those dark pink trees look like flowering plum trees!
Ya know when I see the price of strawberries there it makes me so grateful that I get a box that is 2 pounds for $3. I eat like 4 or 5 with my breakfast almost everyday 😋
Looked like a great week to go park hoping, thanks for sharing the view! ♡
This really cheered me up today 🌸 I needed something to squash some sad-rainy-winter-covid-isolating vibes 🙏 This did the trick.
Wow the sakura are stunning at night as well! And yay Nadine is back ❤🥺 Thank you Sharla
💃🏻 ✨🥰🥰🌸❤️
I think it's really interesting that strawberry season in Japan is in winter. Because in Germany strawberry season is now really picking up and the fields for self picking aren't even open yet (in my town)
In the U.S., the strawberry season is in May.
Ehrmagherd your white knitted top with a pearl pullie on the zipper is AMAZING!
Sharla, Victor, Nadine, new friends, Sakura, A slop car and a choo choo! YAY!!!! How can it get any better!!! ;)
🕺 🎉
you filming the cat while pretending to film the cherrybloossms is so relatable to me xD
We have a campus here with a bunch of old sakura trees, and it's such a great place to visit in the short window you have before the rain kills them. I'd still love to go see Japan's trees, though!
I love Cherry Blossom, got a tree in my garden. She’s got beautiful pinks on her. Wish she would last much longer.
Whoa the sakura place is soo beautiful…i wanna go to Japan! Travelgoals with hubby. BTW Im glad you have Nadine to spend the Festivals with, its more fun spending it with friends.
Awwww Nadine is darling! What a ray of absolute sunshine! More of her!
☀️🌸✨
🥰🥰✨ thank you!
I think the the flowers at 13:35 are plum blossoms; they have the same dark pink/red color. You see them a lot around Seattle, almost as much as sakura. Those fesitvals are great to see, nice that there are some outdoor festivals happening again in Japan.
Yes, I used to live in a Australian city with so many cherry blossoms and ornamental plums. They can be light pink, dark pink, red and even purple. Although ornamental peach can be dark pink too. The stripy flowered one is a peppermint flowering peach.
I finally got into japan this last three weeks, just in time to see the trees in Tokyo right before they went away! Gotta say thanks for the info and awesome videos you post that will probably come in handy these next couple of years!
I love learning about Japan, but it's the moments where Sharla gets distracted from all the pretty blooms because someone is walking a cat that keep me coming back. Woman after my own heart!
Then, Nadine's smile is such a bright spot, as well.
I used to live in Yokohama when I was a child, I haven’t been back since I was like 10 years old but my heart longs to go back! Some day I want to bring my Husband and son over there and relive the good old days. I miss it so much.
Nadine’s happiness and smile is so infectious! My mood has gone from 0 to 100!
aw, thank you! ✨
They look so gorgeous and that petal rain is so beautiful! 💕 It's still about a month until the trees here in Finland start to bloom unless it suddenly gets cold again, I'm just afraid that I'll miss them since I have some long work days scheduled for the estimated blooming days. 😮💨
Petals on the ground is just magical. 🥰
This reminds me of my honeymoon in Japan during sakura season three years ago😍.Thank you so much for sharing!!!
You know us too well. As soon as the video started I was thinking that the lip color was so pretty!
Haha knew it! 😆
This vlog is giving me 2016 vibes and I'm here for it xoxo
😭💖💖
We love Nadine, more Nadine adventures!
皆さん楽しそうで良かったよー夜桜も中々楽しめたようだーJAPAN play enjoy
Hey Sharla. I’m so glad to see things are returning to normal in Japan too. I’m so happy to see the food stalls and that festivals are back. I definitely shouldn’t have watched this while hungry. I’d love some Japanese food stall food. I wish Canada had little festivals like this during spring. I honestly just wish I lived in Japan lol. I’m glad you’re well!
Cherry blossom season in Japan is def on my bucket list. I hadn't thought about seeing them lit up at night. So beautiful! I am beyond on jealous.
Those red and dual toned blossoms look like flowering quince to me, maybe one of the Japanese quince varieties. I love them!
Nice to see gaterhings again! Also, walking cat= awesome.
The unknown blossoming trees look like plum to me! :) very gorgeous, I love the multilayered petals 💕
This was so gorgeous, what incredible sakura adventures! That tram through the trees. 😍 Thank you for taking us along! 🌸
Love the music chosen for this video. It is nice to see more people after these years of not seeing crowds
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Sharla! My apartment was just down the street from Nishi Koen; I used to go there for hanami parties with my English conversation school. My first few months in Sendai, I was at a homestay that was very close to Tsutsujigaoka. Looks like you went there at just the right time!
Im crying over "Slop car station" 😂😂
Super fantastic episode, I watched with my 9 year old daughter. I want to go on Sakura tour one day from the south of Japan to the North.
That looks like fun and the cherry blossoms are pretty! Hope things get better and there'd be proper festivals next year. I wish i could go to Japan to see those in person. And the food looks great, too!
I miss the festivals too! 🌸☀️
Hi Sharla, I think the other flowers you mentioned are apricots. They have a larger flower with lots of petals and abundant stamens.
Love your eyeshadow!
Cheers from a fellow Canadian!
🌸🇨🇦💖
Japan is on my bucket list of places to visit.
Along with seeing a waterfall in Hawaii and volcano. Plus swimming with wild dolphins. And taking a Disney cruise.
My brother and his husband will be stationed in Japan and I can't wait to go visit them there! It's been a huge dream of mine to visit the countryside ❤️ not so much the city 😂
I love love loooove pink Sakura. So pretty.
The cherry blossoms are so pretty!!! I love weeping willows but I had no clue that cherry blossoms also had a weeping version. So pretty!!!!
Also Maro is my spirit animal. I too hate going outside and people!
The subtle background free shavacado at 15:04 👌
The festival with the lanterns looked so stunning at night!✨🌸 Beautiful vlog, I hope I can visit the same places you showed someday~ Also, I believe the more vibrant flowers you weren't sure of in the video are Japanese Plum Blossoms!
Lovely! I noticed how big the Forsythia is. It looks like most of the Spring flowers are blooming along with the Sakura. It would be lovely to just sit in a garden full of blooms.
Just once, I want to see the cherry blossoms bloom in Japan. My trip during Sakura season was cancelled in April 2020, my first trip was in fall of 2019, of course no cherry blossoms to be found. For now, I'll live vicariously through my favorite RUclipsr for as long as I can remember.
ALSO!!! Please bring Nadine along for more adventures! I was so happy to see her back again. Her smile is so contagious, even through her mask. Such a lovely soul and it seems like you guys vibe very well together 😁
Enjoy the cherry blossoms!
I have a weeping Japense Cherry in my front yard, in Ontario Canada. It is a grafted tree and it is huge. Blooms those beautiful pink flowers every spring.
Damn all those trees and flowers were very beautiful, hopefully I can visit Japan one day and see it 😅
13:35 Looks like peach blossoms. Thank you for filming the sakura blossoms, it brings us joy especially when we couldn't go to Japan to see them
I never wanted to visit Japan so badly until now. Such a joy to see this in person. Nice cinematography as well of the blossoms!
That train through the cherry blossoms looked great.
So pretty! 🥰🌸✨
Literally 花より団子? _(Hana yori dango)_
And yes, those "two coloured" flowers are probably peach as the leaves have opened with the flowers (which does not usually happen with ume)
ナディンちゃん、いつもニコニコ☺️して可愛い😍
ahh just what I needed after a long day! You're videos are always so beautiful and make me feel the joy.
Aw thank you! 🥰🌸💖
Thanks! Always enjoy your vids!
Aw thank you so much! I always appreciate your sweet comments💕
Sakura season is my first choice for a time to visit Japan, the treats look amazing and the blossoms are so pretty.
Find it strange how they all bloom at once in Japan but in London some start in March and others are still blooming long into April 🌸
🥲its snowing still where i live so ig i'll have to live vicariously through all the Japanese cherry blossom vlogs, thank you Sharla
The uphill train is called a fernicular! It all looks so beautiful~
Awesome video! I'm gonna binge watch your RUclips videos now 😂😅
Glad you enjoyed it!! :D
I am fortunate to live in Yorkshire UK where we have many cherry blossom trees...maybe not as many as Japan but enough to make me have memories of Japan in the springtime.
Thank you for your consistent coverage of cherry blossoms! This reminds me of the few I fell in love with when I lived in Washington DC.
What a gorgeous video!! Sakura season is my favorite!! I'm so grateful to have been able to experience it during my time studying abroad and as an ALT. I hope to visit again sometime in the future.
Thank you so much for sharing what sakura season is like in Northern Japan!
Springtime is possibly the best time in Japan, and I am so devastated it is another year I cannot see it. Hope for a better time next year.
The "Slim Style Latte" is quite interesting :D
That intro was so beautiful
The other flowering trees you were wondering about are probably crab apple. They are one that are often bred especially to have beautiful flowers (as opposed to apples for eating).
Washington DC, USA has a Cherry Blossom festival to celebrate the cherry blossoms blooming. Trees donated from Japan. They are just gorgeous. It's sometimes rains and has windy days in spring when the bloom so one can miss peak easier. The display is much smaller and gets very crowded but worth a visit. You can see the DC monuments during your visit. Would love to see the original cherry Blossom trees from Japan. Thanks for taking us along.
