  • I have no idea if most of the jumps in this video are intended for you to jump by the developers.
The next part of this series is going to be dedicated for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion if there a few bosses' attacks that are jumpable and serve a purpose by doing so.

Hey now, to be fair, there is NO consistent visual language about what can and cannot be jumped. A bunch of these were overhead strikes, some of which _contacted your model on the way down_ like the Avatar's foot stomp or the Duelist's hammer smash.

Agreed. In another video (Zullie I think) she demonstrates that your characters hurt/hit boxes are mostly deactivated below the chest while jumping. Great idea From!
Fromsoft purposely made jumping a viable form of damage mitigation but they put very little effort into explaining that or making it clear when a jump will do the job. My entire first playthrough of ER was without this knowledge.
I'd agree with the title of this video but only as it goes hand in hand with your comment. It's under utilized because Fromsoft half assed the implementation. It's like they were afraid to "go all the way." Reminds me of how they let a few frost spells into DS3 but committed in ER. In ER they added sleep magic but only a little: perhaps in the future the next souls luke will have a bunch of sleep magics and a proper implementation of jumping ad damage mitigation.

jumping is meant to be more of a positional thing, all overhead attacks will hit you if you're too close like they should.

You can also jump the air combo that Maliketh does, even the last attack

I noticed a lot of these attacks contact the ground and create sparks. Misbegotten, Rick and Malenia excluded, I think most of the "jump able" animations here either directly hit the ground and/or create some kind of spark effect.

the souls fanbase is one of the worst I have come across in gaming. They whine about how Elden ring is just dark souls with no addition but then go like
1)If someone usee ash of war, they call sapmming ash of war=cheese
2)Someone uses Jump attack=Cheese, does not count
3)Someone usee sleeping pots which is like petrification= cheese
    4) Someone uses dragon breath=cheese does not count
