WHO WE ARE
In 2015 we quit our lives in the city to buy bare land in the country and build a timber frame home from scratch with our bare hands, debt-free, with no prior experience. It’s been a wild ride of ups, downs, highs, lows, rain and rainbows, but we haven’t lost sight of our goals and have gotten further in three years than we thought we’d get in ten. Wait. I have just started watching from the beginning, but saw the title here so I clicked on it. Have they really not finished the timber frame house yet? I left off before they even started actually building it. Can't wait to find out what the hold up was. If I am building a house, I don't want to take years to do it.

I like how you Shame the fans for 75% of the video then spend the last few minutes “seeing how we are doing”. Get over yourself then get back to the content that brought people here.

Sounds like you have some videos that you spend a lot of money creating so you are holding them back until the rates are higher? That's my interpretation of what you said....I get it, but sounds tone deaf. A lot of creators are creating extra videos to give us shut ins something to watch.

Actually my employer HAS cut everyone's pay by 25%. I am grateful to still have a job and will keep on doing that job. It's clearly their decision, but it's also our right as viewers to express our disappointment.

A long time ago it changed to being all about RUclips pay and patreons.
The thing is yes YT can be a job and you are of course allowed to consider how and if you're benefiting from it and act accordingly! BUT the viewers are not your employer, YT is. So all that bitterness should be headed that way and that way only.. The way you adressed the very people who even got you in the position to have earned something, anything was poor to say the least..
So a new truck, boom forklift, backhoe, excavator, and air plane and you incurred 0% debt. Wow, you made a lot of money off these video’s and I am happy for you, but your audience and sponsors see that you don’t want this anymore. Give it a little and your not making money like you were or any at all, no new toys, maybe you get the drive back.

Imagine taking this long to build something and wonder why your views are decling. Oh, and taking like 2 years to put on a house wrap of any kind over those expensive sips panels.
It’s how they keep property taxes low. In many places it’s considered “under construction” and won’t get taxed like a finished build.

I went and spoke with the tax assessors office and asked about the house wrap/less tax question.
Yes and no.
It is assessed less initially, since it is not complete. But they raise the completion percentage 20 percent every year for five years and the assessment goes up accordingly.
After five years, they are paying full price, unless they contest their assessment, but living in a shed.

I don’t do it for the money, I actually do it for enjoyment and sharing experiences with people.... because it helps them.... so yes! @@james-5560 I watch guildbrook farms and 50 acres and a cabin, everyone doesn't have to have or do the same thing, these people can do this however they want, they have no obligation to live the way others tell them to. I get a little irritated when Jesse gets on his high horse, but hey! it takes some folks longer than others to realize they are just human. otherwise, frankly I'm just enjoying watching them grow, and change and figure things out along the way. Not how I'd do my stuff, but then we're all different. Me? I'd like to find a farm I like and just fix it up to sit me, no need to re-invent the wheel. but we all have our dreams.
