So, Ash is so bad, that Splash, the move that virtually does no damage, actually damaged and defeated his Pikachu. And he had to resort to hacks in order to win.
That's kind of depressing.
Not only that pikachu who defeated water type lost to is resistence
The depressing part is that even with plot armour he was not that good either!

People are talking about how Ash cheated/hacked that battle, but no one is talking about how Splash, a move that does nothing, managed to damage his best Pokémon.

In Mystery Dungeon Splash can damage the opponent.

I remember just chalking it up to Pikachu not having exercised for so long that he got weaker. Still tho, even a retired fighter who hasn't trained in decades would kick a regular dude's ass.
to be fair, pikachu becoming weak has been explained. I don't remember the exact specifics as these may have happened at the same time. One episode, pikachu had its excess electricity siphoned off because it was going to explode after being stuck to an electromagnet and overcharging. Another episode, Zekrom didn't like that Pikachu was a powerful electric pokemon from a foreign region and used its lightning powers to zap Pikachu's plot-armor strength away.

@@Nick-sr4fe who knows, it was the writers' way of rebooting the series. Pikachu started losing like crazy after that so some people wonder if the "cheat" was causing pikachu to not gain experience or that it lost experience when it was taken away. Pikachu learned moves that it couldn't naturally quite a few times as well.
Why does everyone forget that pikachu was basically ill at that moment?
Pretty sure that the best warrior in the world could lose to anyone if i drained his life force right before the fight.
We also don't know what level Snivy was, nor do we even know if levels are even canon anymore since the only and last time it was mentionned in episode 10 or something.
Levels don't even really make sense outside of gameplay perspective, i'm quite certain lore-wise pokemons just runs on health and actual experience.
Oak starting crap with calling people when ash "loses"
Oak is realizing that he wasted his time grooming Ash to be a champion and not his own flesh and blood grandson.
I mean come on his Pikachu is literally level 6 for God sakes and battle in 7 leagues.

Ash has anti-plot armor. Any attack is fatal.

Plot armor is basically an all-the-cheats-in-one cheat code anyways, but it's automatic and it's passed on whether you like it or not.
It’s kind of hypocritical to call Ash out when he’s hacking himself Splash can’t do damage after all.

I once faced a guy who had like 10 health bars at once. The cheat caused their pokemon to basically get 100% frozen by my ice type attacks XD

"Splash" is a move that shouldn't do damage because nothing happens, so it would be impossible to lose to it.
That means Ash lost to karma because the Magikarp had plot armor.
