Keep up the good work mate and thanks for the shoutout 👍🏻
Paint the interior cream which is warmer than a clinical pure white and helps to spread the light around, and feels appropriate for the working age of the brake van.
Good to see progress on the Brake Van. Yeah, the Paint Makers are well off for a reason! Will catch up with the videos again soon. Keep Safe there Ollie. Cheers!
nice. i would paint it internally a cream colour. its what would of been used throughout its service life
It's frustrating knowing it's taken you many months to refurbish the brake van with tasks still remaining, while the staffed works decades ago had enough personnel to churn out more than five of these in far less than a month.
Keep at it! "With many small strokes a large tree is felled."
Gonna look a lot better when the exterior is finished for sure
100%!!
get yourself a co detector
Nice to see an update on the brake van....coming along nicely. As for interior colour...... light grey.
Keep up the good work through the cold winter period.
Weather has really slowed progress but will try get over some more milestones before the next summer!
Nice one Ollie, really enjoyed this one, as always. Looking forward to the next one. All the best butty. Carl.
Appreciate it Carl, views are dipping a bit on these videos so may not be as frequent but I’ll try my best!
Superb video as usual, about the interior colour maybe a light gray, if l may you could put up a RUclips poll. Many thanks keep up with the good work 👍.
RUclips poll is a very good idea, il add that in the next video perhaps!
Originally the interior would be BR bauxite/brown up to window sill level and cream above with a white ceiling. Probably wouldn't have changed much through its life even into the chosen exterior livery
Yeh that's a very good point Matt cheers
Great work there👍👍. As for an interior colour, check a well used railway colour called " bamboo" in the yellow/cream range. Then if needed you can dark color the lower half.🤔.
I'll have to look up the bamboo colour, glad you enjoyed the videos!
Good progress Ollie, I would go for a cream, over a gloss white due to hiding dirty paw prints. I believe they just repainted the exteriors when going to Dutch livery inside was what ever it was!
That’s a good point, maybe cream is the way forwards, hope you’re enjoying the episodes!
Coming on well. Cream might work well.
Appreciate the feedback!
Hi Ollie Nice to met you at Warley, you've made some excellent progress with the Brake van, its really looking good now and should last a long time indeed after all the work you have done to it. As for the inside, my suggestion is a light-ish cream colour all round, better than a 'cold' white colour (its amazing how a difference in colour can effect your feeling of temperature, sounds daft I know, but it works), good luck with it and the wagons. Thanks
Great to meet you too mate, I didn't think about how a colour may effect the temperature, but that is 100% something I will consider! Thanks for the kind words :)
Excellent Job Wardle Roads
Cheers Mels
Good to see an update on the van, well done, I think a cream colour would look good on the interior and would be a contrast to the exterior colour . Cheers
That’s a good point, cream seems to be the option to go for!
Great to see some progress on this I enjoy watching this as it fascinates me but I’m not in a position to help out at my local railway
Sorry to hear that you're not in a position to help at your local railway, glad you enjoy the content though!
11:18 I'd go with a dark wood stain color like the inside of a cabin.
Thanks for the idea!
I was a bit worried about you, as you hadn't uploaded for some time. Your birthday video is up on my channel, I know you'll enjoy it. Got your Christmas tree up, yet? Mine is. Merry Christmas a few weeks early. Christmas is only a few weeks away.
Thanks Kelly, I'll check it out :) My tree went up first weekend of December and the cats have been trying to pull it down already!
Brilliant work, well done.🙂
Cheers!!
like gold that on the brakevan, must of been outside Asda at 6 for Prime haha, im really enjoying these updates, the Amount of work done to this Brakevan is insane, i think same grey used on the outside should be used inside, 1 so it matches and 2 it gives the interior a bigger feel to it and any light(s) it will reflect the light off more than a dark grey
Haha I found an Asda petrol station selling them so bought a load, all gone now😂 yes a tone of work has gone into the project so far, and still so much more to do!
Great progress olly
Thank you mate much appreciated
It’s definitely looking good. So much nicer than the sad shack on wheels that you started with.
Yeh, along way to go but it will get there!
Morning Ollie. Fantastic progress on the BR brake van 👍🏻 So glad you’re saving a British Rail iconic vehicle 😊
Glad you enjoyed mate, appreciate the kind words!
Fantastic video, Ollie. It was great to see all the progress and hear how you are progressing and what's next! Keep up the great work!
Appreciate it as always Anthony, all the best
Glad to see you back at it Ollie! I’m afraid I can’t give you much advise as I’m learning from you for my own projects more than anything. All I can say is keep ‘em coming as what you’re doing as absolutely fantastic!
I'll be honest im not sure how many there will be, views have dipped and dropped so doesn't seem as worth while for the time it takes to film and edit etc
Glad to see yet another fantastic roll out the WR camp. Really enjoyed this one; just as great as the others. Well Done Ollie ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Please don't take this the wrong way, I like what you are doing, but the rebuild is chaotic for want of a better word. Things are started, but never finished as half way through one part you seem to get bored and start on another aspect, so half the interior cladding is done, half a dozen bits of T&G are fixed to the outside, part of the frame work or beams are fitted, rather then getting to a stage where for argument sake all the frame work is done and then you can do the exterior cladding all in one go. I'm sure there is a method to the madness, and maybe it's just me getting triggered, who knows, but I just find it a bit haphazard
‘Don’t take this the wrong way’ normally means the comment will be taken a certain way, sorry to hear it’s triggered you so perhaps you are better off watching other wagon restoration channels. This whole job is pretty much a 1 man band and doing it all outside means I can’t just ‘remove all the cladding’ and replace it all in one go. If you watched any of the previous episodes you would have seen things like the brake mechanism completely stripped and reassembled, the railway isn’t local to me either so my time there is limited and weather dependant. I do what I can with the money I have 👍
