Holy sh_t,that was great at the end..
Did flat work for years, only 1 kind of expansion product held up. Bi- tuminus
Asphalt pp. ( different names of it across the country)..
Gonna try this ,1 thing I would like to add. When applying any product with a sequential pump presure tool .
( calk gun ),cant make this up . From school books I got when going through my union mason apprentice ship.
As printed: always apply sealant, grout, or polymer in foward motion from tip .
    Yeah didn't do that
Until this huge job at the college. Once you become comfortable shooting foward, what a difference your end product becomes.
Thanx so much for the info. Enjoyed it.
Brought back memories. Keep up the great work.

Just want to say that this worked for us as non-professionals.. a few takeaways.. get the paver sand and use a plastic cup... you might not always have to use backerrod, especially if there's no room...if you don't have a power-washer. a hook knife or putty knife AND a shop-vac make for a cleaner crack even if it does take a bit more time, it's cheaper than buying a tool... last but not least... not all cracks are the same.. Driveways vary, so do cracks.. plan accordingly... using the 1/2" number, i used 1 small tube for 1 8ft length..so BUY ACCORDINGLY.. for my DRIVEWAY and seal to the garage I used 3 small tubes, and 6 - 29oz tubes.. buy 20 % more than you estimate, you can always return what's unopened. Overall, the results look VERY nice, if you've done caulking work before the results will look nice, and no, i don't recommend the sand on top..Thx Michael!
