This was the best storage locker opening yet !!! You are very respectful of the products ...tidy ...just very pleasant to watch ....the sewing and cross stitch etc is very expensive in nz so I see a fortune for you just there ....well done ...love it !!!
Get a magnet to test for what is NOT gold and silver; if it sticks, its not gold or silver. Be careful not to test the clasp; often there is a spring in clasp. 18:01 printer carts 47:00 catapults for the Napoleon/Wellington scene he was working on 59:43 "Thieves World" to me, was his most successful work. Those books got spun into all kinds of products. 1:01:18 Dutton models used to create all kinds of scenes. $25-50 each. It KILLS me how only the jewelry excites you and the books and comics you barely pause to consider. I wish i could be there to help you with Asprin's gaming collection. He has MANY followers who will pay huge $$$ for his stuff. Not to mention his proofs, 1st editions etc. Be careful with that stuff and trust me, all that other stuff glitters MORE than the gold your finding. Don't be in a hurry to let it go.
the 2 bags you found in the wooden box 1:33:47 are RUNES Stones. they "are used as a system of divination, decision making and communication. They are the magical alphabet of the North of central and Northern Europe.".
After looking at your astounding finds, maybe you should contact a fine arts auction house for an evaluation instead of selling them on line. They deal with this level of art all the time.
I totally agree. If you could hear me when someone throws away a vintage or antique item because they don't know what it is and "Poof" into the garbage. Sad really. Get an art assessor please. ASAP. Or at least a local art gallery owner to discuss the situation. No sales tho until you have a better idea what is what.
41:20 the 10k grr is the hallmark of Arden Jewelers. It appears they are a custom maker and very expensive. Also that Sterling pendant just before, you were holding above the camera so I could not see it good. But fast glance appears to be opal
1:56:42 Bronze piece..... marked Honek, made by Butch Honek....Look him up. Also, get a jeweler's loup. I have one with a tiny internal light, which goes everywhere I do. Handy little gadget.
1:56:42 That Koi with the Jade eyes is dope! You need a small loupe that you carry in your pocket everywhere you go. You can read anything with one. @1:56:42 many thimbles were made from silver & gold
Yes agree with carrying a loop&little pocket knife, also know your stamps .-thanks for the close ups though,I love antique jewelry -just finding hidden treasure period .Enjoy &pay your tithes ✌😀
You hit the mother load. Buy a jewelry loop to read if it's gold or silver. Your wife is going to love all this. Wish I had found it all. Had fun looking.
1:34:25 Ruins there are celtic norse of course JRR Tolkien has a set for each culture in his Mythology quite collectable esp among RPG fans but they are historically tools and Wiccans still use them also most people just like them because they are pretty some are very expensive
This is the kind of unit all storage buyers dream of. A once in a lifetime find. You may as well quit buying now, you will never see another unit like this one again. :) So happy for your good fortune!!
COGRATS!!!!! Never seen a unit like this and probably never see another one!!! NO JUNK!!!! AMAZING FIND!!!! Any info on the previous owner? Doubt anyone would just leave this to be auctioned. To any who thought this was set up, just consider the quality of everything in this unit!!! Let us know if you are going to retire when you get a final value on this unit.
I didn't hear much about the owner except I know they're alive and fine. I know quite a bit of backstory to their family heritage and successes only because I see all the paperwork throughout the unit. This was most definitely a blessing for myself and my family.
When you are sorting and you find good stuff like gold or silver why do you put it back in same box instead of having a box for all of the good stuff and putting them in there right away.
Jason, some unsolicited advice... Get all the jewelry together - anything that is gold, silver or costume that you might think is valuable. Take pictures of all of it; either individual pieces or groups of like items. You don't want so many items that you can't identify individual items. If you put them in groups, put each group in a zip lock bag and write the name of the picture on that bag. If you can't get it appraised right away, please don't leave all that jewelry laying around the house. If you don't have someplace secure to put it, I would suggest getting a safe deposit box at a bank to store it in. Even if you get it appraised soon, if you don't sell it quickly, store it in a safe deposit box until you sell it. That is a LOT of valuable jewelry. If the wrong person would find out you have all that, they wouldn't think twice about knocking you over the head to get it. The same would apply to all that art and the big cat statue... Find a secure place to put them. If you are going to keep them at home, I would even consider insuring them. Sorry to ramble on so long...
ARE YOU THAT NAIVE HE DOES THIS FOR A LIVING, HE MAY GET ON A BIT DIPPY BUT THATS JUST AN ACT HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING BUT ARROGANCE DOESNT ALWAYS GET VIEWS
Your world is about to be blown. So many “valuables” Don’t come in gold or silver form. For some of us all those crafting items are worth a small fortune! In fact, over the years I’ve accumulated probably much more. One of those hobbies that becomes an addiction! So look up! You’ve got a great find there!
SRY 4 MY IGNORANCE WE DONT HAVE MANY STORAGE LOCKER SITES WHERE I LIVE BUT DO THEY NOT HAVE 24HR SECURITY(IE WHAT WOULD BE THE POINT PAYING FOR STORAGE IF THEY DONT HAVE SECURITY) BUT I DIG YOUR THINKING
Towards the end leaf earrings are by Coro. There are some pieces that are worth quite a bit. Also, check the connector rings for the clasp on necklaces & bracelets. High end (gold) will usually be soldered closed so they cannot accidentally be pulled open.
Thrift Trader if you are going to show what you are unpacking, think of the item being in a position that we can see it. Also don't say something is gold or silver if you don't find a stamp on the item that tells you gold or silver & the weight. You pulled out a Franklin Mint package but didn't even bother looking inside it. Franklin Mint items can usually be counted on being worth a nice amount of money.
Would you happen to still have that small brass Dutch oven that you found in this unit if so let me know I doubt you do but would be nice if you did thanks
if you found original manuscripts, or unpublished manuscripts, or first editions, those could be worth more than the gold. And the gold may be worth more as jewelry than melted down due to who may have worn what when...photos may have someone wearing the piece(s)... what year was that storage unit rented and filled? He passed in 2008... man you have got treasures galore goin' right here... so glad to see you handle everything with such care! Thanks for all you do!
watched this video in less than 20 minutes ! kept winding on because your camera was mostly showing edges of plastic boxes or you were holding item's either too high or too low to see ?
after watching and listening to you sort through the books and crafts lol, seeing you look at this stuff reminds me of the Goonies finding Chester Copper Pot's treasure lol
This looks like a house unit but with the way the comics were rapped, could it have been some kind of collectibles shop to. This is one of the better unit's i've seen.
This is a life changing buy. Pretty overwhelming, but exciting to watch. Good luck. Take your time to get the best value. Yes, take precautions and enjoy.
Jason just a simple tip, something I do with online auction units now is I just just use my Amazon seller app to scan the item for comic books and collectibles. Although the price will come back usually higher than it is on eBay it gives me a general idea. I only say this for your comic books. I have a hard time going through them and getting values, so thank heaven I can just scan into seller app get a rough idea and if over a certain amount the investigate further. I know my tip should be easily known but I have had to show alot of resellers that didn't think of it. Good luck and you made out like a bandit. A cold bandit but a bandit none the less.
The Mickey Mouse from Disney is probably from the 1950’s. The Snoopy, the Black cat all of that is vintage! Wow! These people knew what to collect & you get the benefits! Congratulations.
Hi Jason, My name is Jason Barnum. I have been watching a bunch of you videos and enjoying them. On this video around the 27 minute mark you pull out what is called a puzzle box. The name of the maker is Ken Spurlin. He is my uncle. I have several of his pieces. I share a lot of wood with him as I am also a woodworker. If you want more info just let me know. Happy picking.
Thrift Trader congratulations on your wonderful storage locker! I am so thrilled for you. Now about the jewelry you found. Metal test everything from the gold to the silver! On that bracelet open up the clasp and check the male part for stamps or makers mark! Some pieces of jewelry is vintage costume jewelry that is highly sort after and it has a very lucrative market! So don't disregard it. You can reference internet sites like Pinterest, Esty Shoppe and RUclips Jewelry groups such as "There's Always Room For Jewelry" founded by Anita Funita, where people gather and share jewelry from every genre....old, vintage, silver, precious metals, gems and crystal jewels....you name it!!! There are some very smart and knowledgeable individuals that would be glad to help you identify your jewels. Their very and no drama! Good luck!💋 I hope this helps! See you on your next video!❤😎
i realize this was a while ago , but i just stumbled on your channel. I noticed lots of ceremonial jewelry with the snakes and an amulet that is handmade that signifies prosperous buying and selling. The symbols are handmade and are usually handcrafted when there are certain planetary alignments ... ceremonial spell work... free mason and the like... cool!!!
Just so you know, when you are looking at things, sometimes, we can't see what you are looking at. We might be able to help identify stuff if we could see it.
I would have put the money and gold all in my truck.somebody could have been watching,we didn't have to see it until you got home safe. Thanks for your time.
I wish there was a follow up video telling us about some of the items you found. Maybe a hint at how much all that stuff was worth. Some of the jewelry at the end looked old. Did you find any information about them?
Thrift Trader I watched all four of the videos from the steam punk storage unit. I didn’t see any other videos showing what kind of backstory you found on any of the items, especially the sweet jewelry at the end
There is a heap of money in comics, also dont look at things being random, think of them as items to be resold. I didnt think this could get much better - but it did. You are a VERY lucky punter. You say you dont knpw if there is a market. Blimey, crafting is the biggest hobby, and you have an immense market in middle class american females just waiting for your find. You figures and games for warcraft and dungeons /dragons has a very large following in gamer forums. I have done a mental assay, and so far your profit is in the region of $14,000 to $16,000. You need to employ someone to investigate the sell;able cost and then either ebay or etsy the goods, or flea market etc. This will leave you free to bid on further units. My heart sinks every time you say 'its just random stuff', as you should be saying 'Ineed to open a shop with all these amazing items just waiting for a customer'.
IF IT TAKES 6MNTHS TO SELL SOMETHING ITS CHEAPER NOWADAYS THANX TO CHINA JUST TO DUMP IT, OH FUK THIS STUFF JUST WENT UP IN VALUE THANX TO TRUMP, YOU LOT DONT WANT CHEAP IMPORTS ANYMORE SO THE JUNK MARKET JUST GOT INFLATED, DONALD TRUMP IS BETTER FOR AMERICA THAN ANYONE THINKS, HES A SECRET GENIUS LMAO
@@odoggow8157 Huh? Do you have medicine or a therapist because that literal looked like a word salad to me. Of course what would a retired formally licensed mh person know.
41:00 GTR was a maker's mark used by J.M. Fox, Inc in Long Island City, New York. There is a HUGE market in Cross Stitch magazines, books, patterns, materials, stock.... they are hard to come by. There are also special sites to sell it on to get the most for your money if you haven't already found one. Contact me if you need to know the sites that specialize in getting you the biggest profits for it
35:46 If the book doesn’t bring $ look to see who did the lithographs & if any of them are signed &/or numbered. I have a Mis Marple that is falling apart but almost all the lithographs are signed. The lithographs are appraised at nearly 2 years income.
I started watching the first one and as soon as I heard Robert Aspirin, etc....pieced it together very very quickly. Of course I was reading him when, well we went say. Congratulations! Please keep yourself safe.
all those soldiers and weapons and such looks to me he/she was recreating battles from history or from books maybe building dioramas like you see in museum
18.40 time on the video you were looking at a tiny black antique stove it goes with old dolls. List it on ebay under antique toys and antique dolls you will make a good amout of money for this one. Its a collectors item. Hope this helps .
I know this is older, but there's definitely a market for the crafting supplies and books. The older books (100+ years) i might be interested if you still have them.
Hi, the one ring with the pink stone it looked as though it was stamped Oroton sorry about the spelling, as you know I mentioned that I have been watching for hours, well I only have one eye and like your phone it is giving out. Why do people get creeped out my clowns I thought it was lovely. Pixie 🧚♀️🏴🇦🇺 1:56.42?
You need to get those books to a Collector or a book store because there is mold on the pages and if they are worth what I think they can stop the mold or preserve it. They look really good.
Looks like they had a craft supply store or they taught crafts; jewelry making, cross stitching and sold art too. Fascinating. When u discover what they did, pls inform us.
A tiny key ring pocket knife put on your key ring would be extreme handy to always have with you ............. for so many reasons including opening boxes.
Yep. It's not the 1st printing, but the 3rd. A 1st printing in great condition sold in 2016 for $22k! This 3rd print is worth about $6k in its condition.
The painting/print at 55.45 seems to be of the Greet-Guest Pine Tree in Huangshan Mountains. It's a famous tree in China and in many photos and prints that you see in Chinese restaurants etc around the world.
Yes there is a market for vintage craft books. My advise is to list them separately. See people have these patterns they get accidentally destroyed or lost. People will pay as high as 20 for some of those patterns.
1:56:24, Hi, why are you asking yourself “what have I done to have this” well you work your behind off that’s why!!!!. Sorry about the time being wrong but you were moving into the truck. The stones are Runes and they are Nordic. Pixie 🧚♀️🏴🇦🇺
Me too but in Texas now. What part are you from? I'm from all over, lol. Okc, Davidson, Frederick, Manitou, Snyder, Mt.park, Roosevelt, Blair. Lots of places. My parents moved alot. I subbed and hit the bell. Very nice unit!!
My goodness! Just from what a bit I saw, You hit the mother load! I DON'T know if you even realize the amount of items in total that IS NOT trash on selling platforms! This could be a gold mine if you had someone listing for you. Just my opinion! Wow! If you feel like one offing the boxes that would even pay off!! If you get to feeling generous 😁😅👋❤ good luck!
I know it's been a long while but those books are worth a fortune. That Charles 1st book is worth about $800 dollars in good condition. The comic books are a money maker. Great locker. Please be safe when unboxing at night or have your friend to accompany you. About the knives you've discovered, why don't you use one to open the boxes. Stay safe. God bless.
wow so very much would love to buy the sterling heart enamel brooch and the bracelet you moved but didn't show on camera ..the one with figure of eight work … do you have an ebay page for selling . on the necklace you kept saying I cant see a mark it was probably n the inside of the clasp ...you needed to open it up …
A lot of the stuff looks like it came out of the merchant/vendor booth of a medieval re-enactor (SCA) or from a Comicon/RPG/Larp convention and I noticed one of the boxes had previously been labeled 'Merch'. The buttons were labeled for sale.
I am interested in the diorama buildings at time spot 1:01:11 , there are five boxes sinside one of your boxes marked diorama kits , please get back to me
Replica miniature wood stove ..salesmen would travel with them to show the buyer what the stove was all about...Cost could be up to $100 depending if all pieces were intacked 👍
Great find's... I'm sooo nervous for you...ha...Afraid someone is gonna take it from you...lol...The stones were a little creepy..I was yelling Don't touch them...lol...I would be scared to do it at night..Next time bring a tazer...ha...
Wow, just heard you say you didn't know if there was a market for the crafting supplies. Go take a stroll through Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and JoAnn Fabric and Crafts.Take pics of some of the stuff and check out the current prices.
GUESSING THIS MAKES IT MORE LIKELY TO HAVE BEEN VALUABLE, THAT LOOKED LIKE THE REAL JEWLERY BOX SO MOST OF IT I ASSUMED WAS REAL, ALSO IF I REMEMBER MY STUFF IN CERTAIN PLACES YOU CAN GET PURE GOLD PIECES MADE RITE IN FRONT OF YOU IN REMOTE PLACES AND ITS ABSOLUTELY PURE NOT LIKE OUR ALLOYS AND THEY DONT GET A HALMARK. ITS MY FAV TYPE TO SEE PPL FIND AS TH PEICES ARE ONE OFF AND TOTALLY UNIQUE.
A suggestion... start using a table to work off of or boxes piled up - save your back!
Awesome stuff, dude! I hope you made a fortune! ;)
1:48:30 If that is a David Webb enamel diamond yellow gold panther pin. Most are only about $14,000
41:00 GTR was a maker's mark used by J.M.
WOW, I wish I had all that crafting stuff! A crafters dream unit there!
all those soldiers and weapons and such looks to me he/she was recreating battles from history or from books maybe building dioramas like you see in museum
I know it's over a year old, but if you still have the old D&D stuff, I'd be interested in discussing price
You are going to make out big with all those beads n crafting and needlework...with the ladies in your community.
With all the crafting stuffs you could open a craft store 😁
1:13 I want the Sherlock book! Very Kool! 😎😎😎
A tiny key ring pocket knife put on your key ring would be extreme handy to always have with you ............. for so many reasons including opening boxes.
Nice unit. 31:39 that Dungeons & Dragons should make your day.
Wow what a haul. I would be interested in all the crafting items. Hope you will be selling them.
1:56:24, Hi, why are you asking yourself “what have I done to have this” well you work your behind off that’s why!!!!. Sorry about the time being wrong but you were moving into the truck. The stones are Runes and they are Nordic. Pixie 🧚♀️🏴🇦🇺
Very nice finds my friend! Are you located in San Diego? Do you have a Store? Thanks
No sorry, I'm in Oklahoma.
Okay can you tell me why you didn`t keep a knife to cut open the boxes
Because I'm an idiot and wasn't thinking. Late night + cold weather = dumb. Lol
Stay safe. God bless.
wow so very much would love to buy the sterling heart enamel brooch and the bracelet you moved but didn't show on camera ..the one with figure of eight work … do you have an ebay page for selling . on the necklace you kept saying I cant see a mark it was probably n the inside of the clasp ...you needed to open it up …
sent an email :-)
Great interesting video. 👍👍👍🤗
8:31 were those gaming books in that box? some of the jewelry at 1:22:22 looked like costume jewelry for a role playing gamer. Big money there.
Sorry for babbling..this is amazing...don't sell for melt value til you have someone advise you. I may be wrong, but I am much impressed
A lot of the stuff looks like it came out of the merchant/vendor booth of a medieval re-enactor (SCA) or from a Comicon/RPG/Larp convention and I noticed one of the boxes had previously been labeled 'Merch'. The buttons were labeled for sale.
I am interested in the diorama buildings at time spot 1:01:11 , there are five boxes sinside one of your boxes marked diorama kits , please get back to me
Shoot me an email at thrifttraderofficial@gmail.com please 😊
Replica miniature wood stove ..salesmen would travel with them to show the buyer what the stove was all about...Cost could be up to $100 depending if all pieces were intacked 👍
Great find's... I'm sooo nervous for you...ha...Afraid someone is gonna take it from you...lol...The stones were a little creepy..I was yelling Don't touch them...lol...I would be scared to do it at night..Next time bring a tazer...ha...

books,crafting,& gamming-endlessly.
The crafting market is massive
I like how careful in your unboxing. Nice video.
How careful you are.
Wow, just heard you say you didn't know if there was a market for the crafting supplies. Go take a stroll through Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and JoAnn Fabric and Crafts.Take pics of some of the stuff and check out the current prices.
Hi, there is certainly a market for craft books and supplies. Especially out of print patterns and books.
What an amazing find. And you haven't even finished unpacking. You're sorted for years.
Hey Bro at the end do a full re-cap of what was gold & sterling all laid out! Please that would be a good video.
There is a tremendous amount of value you will receive researching all these items. KNOWLEDGE
That's a True Statement!! I've already dug in and started research and listing. This will be my life for a WHILE!
well you had me holding my breath. i hope all your gold is gold and all your silver is silver. i also hope you got home safe.
The dude finds knifes, but keeps using a key to cut open boxes?????
1:41:00, the necklace has a safety clasp....to keep if from falling off...
I KNEW A REALLY OLD SAILOR AND IF YOU COULD HAVE SEEN THE GOLD HE HAD GATHERED ON HIS JOURNEYS AND A STORY BEHIND EVERY ONE.
(HE TOLD ME IT WAS THE CHEEPEST GOLD HE WAS ABLE TO BUY BUT ACTUALLY THE PUREST AND MOST VALUABLE BY WEIGHT. HE HAD SOME AMAZING RUBY RINGS HE WAS LIKE A PIRATE FROM THE ELDORADO TALES
Part Time Picker sells Christmas cards for unbelievable amounts of money.I think your Go Pro is at the perfect angle and no one is freaking about your cameraman. So many Smalls.
It looks like you have a few thousands of dollars worth of the Hinchliffe figures. The painted ones are very desirable. If they're done well. I'm interested in some of your other items. How do I get a hold of you?
