As someone who lives in a big north american city (toronto, not new york- though they're very similar!) the fact that you found the huge buildings shocking was weird, but being surprised by baby spinach and hug pots of hummus? Those are tiny compared to what you can get at costco! In your time in america, please go to costco. The portion sizes there are massive even by north american standards

Coming from someone who lives out in a rural area and doesn't like the city I will never understand how people find a vacation in the city relaxing. If you come America don't believe everything that you hear about small towns or the negative stuff small towns and rural areas in the US are amazing and beautiful and people are great and the food is incredible. Big cities only represent a small portion of America there are thousands of smaller towns that show how the majority of Americans live. So if you come to the US and you want to see the big cities that's ok but check out the small towns that are in between those big cities and you'll see what America is really like

I live in England and have been everywhere in this country - which should come as no surprise to you, you living in such a vast country and knowing how small England is. I like it here. Its not anywhere near as nice as it used to be. But its still possible to get away from the city. One of the things I envy about North Americans is their ability to sojourn through 1000 miles of wilderness and neither see nor hear a single motorized vehicle. You`ll excuse me when I tell you that one problem in being here is that you`ll struggle to get away from the sound of a fucking engine. Lots of love to you, lass.

It also works the other way round, takes us Europeans 26 hours to get to Australia....(depending on where you are coming from)
