Unlike Assam , the overall strategy and buildup along with campaign has been really poor by BJP ! Assam didn't have any old foot prints of BJP yet they established their foot hold and came to power ! In terms of WB and Kolkata BJP over all doesn't have exact political presence but has high amount of resources in terms of non bengali citizens residing in the state since 100's of year ! BJP has not judicially used it's resources during campaign and vaguely used the term "JAI SHRI RAM" as a simple rhetoric against TMC and Mamata Banerjee ! That shouldn't have been the process ! They have so much good to show in terms of their development of northeast and Assam , without doing that , these so called BJP leaders keep shouting in streets Jai shree Ram , Hence it's highly likely Mamta Banerjee will scrape through with the barest of margin and win this election ! On the personal note I would like to have BJP in the state , but not with the likes of the current incompetent leadership of Bengal....
A cut the clutter is needed to understand the changing religion politics. Mamta doing chandi path, Kejri brought a nationalistic budget and promised free pilgrimage to Ram temple, Rahul as usual doing flip flop between Jaineu and Ajmal and BJP opposing the movement to remove 26 verses from religious book.

Good Analysis! I must say, SG understands the complexities of Assam's ethnic, religious and political set up, for sure, and how significant the impact of ideologies, sentiments and linguistic and cultural insecurities of indigenous people have had in election results over the decades and how that has transformed, thanks to rss, rightly or wrongly so. His knowledge is commendable, unlike many other so called national journalists, who talks shit when analysing Assam's politics. May be because he covered some of the Assam Movement developments during his stint in North East as well as while writing his book. That being said, BJP has done few things that could continue to help them. Pairing of clever Himanta Biswa Sarma, a brahmin Assamese with Sarbananda, a tribal Assamese added with the development work they have done in the state, but NRC CAA could still remain sticking point. So this election is not going to be a piece of cake for BJP. But at the same time, Assamese communities, sans Muslims, see a looming danger of ethnic insecurity if AIDUF paired with Congress wins. So it will be a tough game for BJP.
Honestly we have seen a lot of infrastructural development and plenty of militant issues being resolved during BJP's regime in Assam. The way HBS handled corona was magnificent but no one talks about Assam model (I was in Delhi during lockdown and I was literally envyed by the way HBS handled Corona bcz Kejriwal ji failed miserably at Delhi where he kept on conducting PC's without much benefits being provided to the people). Also the congress's alliance with Ajmal has only empowered BJPs influence within Assamese community and Khilonjiya Hindus. This election can be close since Muslim votes won't be divided now but still BJP will win the election again for sure.

Hello SG sir, I am from the valley of Assam. You have provided an accurate articulation of the political affairs of the state incorporating philosophical interpretation to analytical explanation.
Worth mentioning that since BJP has come to power, Bangladeshi muslims have been cut to size in Assam. Congress was way too lenient due to vote-bank issues. I was in a sainik school during 2012-13, and our school was located in the heart of Muslim-tribal riots during that time. Bangladeshi muslims had illegally encroached the tribal areas and it reached a tipping point. One of my friends narrated a horrifying story of how B-Muslims with machetes entered the train coach his sister was travelling in and asked if any Bodo people were there. Since 2016, B-Muslims are silent and waiting for Ajmal to become CM.

RSS's history in Assam is fascinating. Also, the interaction between the local Assamese Muslims and the RSS and the Bangladeshi Muslims and the RSS is very different as well. Muslim in Assam, much like Hindus, are not a homogeneous group. Let's not forget Sarfaraz Hussain who in 2016 became the class 10 Assam topper and studied in an RSS school, Sankardev Sishu Niketan. There are many poor Assamese Muslims who study in RSS schools. At one point, as Mr Gupta says, the left had a strong presence in Assam. In my home constituency of Naharkatia, the left was in power up until 1996. It is predominantly decimated now.
@Saurav Singh I know. The Sangh Parivar has branches for Muslims and Christians too. My point is about the interaction that RSS has had with Muslims differ based on what community of Muslims one belongs to - the indigenous Assamese Muslims or the Bangladeshi ones. Also, when the anti-CAA protests took over Assam, the demand was not only for the expulsion of Bangladeshi Muslims but also Bangladeshi Hindus
As much as I dont like the current BJP Government, I appreciate the fact that there is not a "cult worship" of a figure or family in BJP (barring contemporary Modi worship). Giving credit to RSS after victory shows how much discipline and appreciation BJP has for the concept of organizations and institutions. Precisely why they are rising and Indira party has sunk lower and lower (I doubt they will rise again). Having great organization and institutions is the strength of BJP and will sustain it when Mr. Modi is no longer the star of the party.
RSS's image is completely opposite how Left Liberaandus presents.....Just join for sometime and meet with them to understand them ...You will appreciate their devotion to this motherland. They don't care about their image ..They keep doing nation building work. Proud tht I was once active RSS swayamsevak.

Okay now signing up with AIUDF is not communal. Wow ! what kind of logic is this now? Can anyone explain? Only when Hindus talk about their religion , they are communal ! Who falls for this other than Indian journalists
@@inspiregrowth9022
Yes and as we know by history that is not so . Infact always through Muslim rulers and British oppressors who were not Sanatani, it was they who wanted to suppress. Even today these journalists hesitate to talk about rampant conversions especially in the south and the northeast which undermines the Hindu community.
I have this feeling that these journalists have a clout or inner group of influence to cater to, which they serve to influence the population in India and abroad and it is managed by the minorities.

Mr.Gupta, why silence on what's going on in the Ambani-Thackeray scandal going on in Mumbai. If there is a case of state sponsored terrorism, this is it.
They have already posted a detailed CTC on this case.
Am waiting for the day he writes a book on SIMI and PFI 😅
Have to pen my thoughts, when someone from the mainstream media is discussing my small hometown Silchar 🙂
But got to give credit to his political knowledge, he even mentioned the town's left strong hold some 15-20 years ago. Most of the journalists, even locally only know about congress's dominance or S.M.Dev's era as political giants, and very little about CPI(M).

Having grown up in Barak Valley, I can tell you. The 1st time a hindu became a MLA in Badarpur, was in 2016. These areas have almost 50-50 Hindu Muslims population, far from ideal utopia of secular democracy.

I don't like dividing language used here of mainland india and assam. This is chinese import vocabulary and doesn't really apply here.
Hi.... possibly he is referring to an offshore location where the oil well may be located. Not sure though. What I appreciate is your quick co-relation of the word mainland with China
But you know what he meant. What's the big deal if someone chooses the wrong word.
true it is all India. There is no mainland and sideland
Northeast is an unknown place for rest of India, a place of stereotypes. And also an ignored place.
People of northeast adapted to this and feel they are separate. That's why they also use the terms, Northeast India and Mainland India.

What I find very interesting is the fact none of these (so called) journalist manage to find out:
how in this day and age do RSS get such “full time Karyakartas” who are ready to give up their families, careers and comforts of home to go and carry out grass root level work in ‘not so welcoming’ areas?
You can hate them (if you call yourself modern or (pseudo) secular or anything you like) but you can’t deny the fact that there is no other Organisation in India at the moment who has such millions of devoted Karyakartas who can change the face of the nation by shear hard work.
Incredible!!!

They have so much good to show in terms of their development of northeast and Assam , without doing that , these so called BJP leaders keep shouting in streets Jai shree Ram ,
Hence it's highly likely Mamta Banerjee will scrape through with the barest of margin and win this election ! On the personal note I would like to have BJP in the state , but not with the likes of the current incompetent leadership of Bengal....
Great coverage.
Also waiting for clutter on the other election state.. Kerala.

Dont worry LDFs going to win easily!
More then who wins..the clutter over UDF infighting plus insights on BJP inroads would be good to discuss
26 verses? What they are..

Also in assam it is more of a cultural conflict which is subsumed as religious conflict by the media.

Fascinating episode. Which is the next “Assam”?
That was very unfortunate. How is infrastructural development going on in Assam? How many seats do you think BJP will win?
@@ashishmehta8342 below 65..... because 40 to 50% of the Hindu votes in Upper Assam will shift to the newly formed regional parties.....anti-BJP sentiments are extremely strong here...

Such a excellent work Shekhar. Keep it up.
Does it have African branch? (For Shudras) Eskimos (non-veggie)?
😀😀😀
As much as I dont like the current BJP Government, I appreciate the fact that there is not a "cult worship" of a figure or family in BJP (barring contemporary Modi worship). Giving credit to RSS after victory shows how much discipline and appreciation BJP has for the concept of organizations and institutions. Precisely why they are rising and Indira party has sunk lower and lower (I doubt they will rise again). Having great organization and institutions is the strength of BJP and will sustain it when Mr. Modi is no longer the star of the party.
Can we have a CTC on RSS and it's relationship with Jan Sangh earlier and now the BJP please!
I am guessing they don't have much info ..all the info they have on it is hearsay ....rss is very quiet ..they talk less and do more
