I got very inspired by this video. I couldn't get fresh cranberries anywhere so I ended up buying frozen ones. I let them thaw out for a few hours till they reached room temperature. I used granny Smith apples as that I was what I had in the house. I also added half a stick of cinnamon to the mixture.
It turned out really well, love it! It's cooling down as I speak and I can't stop tasting it every 15 minutes!
Thank you, dear Gordon, for this beautiful recipe.
Made this for my Thanksgiving dinner, everybody loved it.
Can't go wrong with Gordon Ramsay! I follow your turkey preparation/seasoning and this cranberry sauce from scratch, it's always awesome goodness!
ALL of the stuff on this channel is amazing! gah wish I had that sort of cooking skill
oh wow , love this , never made this , so going to try this , thank you , we used to just buy these but now I am making my own that is for sure xx
Even though I don't like cranberries, I love the video and everything looks nice and tasty. Even the cranberries look good.
Had fresh cranberries, used Fiji apples. Was so good, but I feel like I used to much orange. Use a small Christmas orange not a regular sized orange, or even omit it as it tasted fantastic before I added it in.
Totally making this again though. So good.
Making it for this Christmas
I make this sauce every year for Thanksgiving. My family loves it!
Elise Martinez Thanks, really glad to hear.
Marathon Watching 9/28/22 Excellent Chef! Yum.
Just made it for Thursday. 😊
made this today, delicious!
i made this recipe minus the pods and used walnuts instead of the pods it turned out great, i guessed on the measurements
and was right lol
that look soo good
Try these with raspberries, strawberries and it still works. Wonderful.
I think I'm in love.....with a sauce....
That sounds great. I bet it would be great with pork too.
im looking for the ad when he comes down the chimney like santa and pushes the kids out the way has anyone seen it?
I'd make this sauce for pork!
One things for certain,,,, when adding the ingredients into the caramelized sugar all must be at room temperature or it will be ruined from the start. Second round was very successful, wonderful flavor, fresh, and aromatic. Great recipe that I'll be recreating for both turkey and ham for the holidays.
Thanks for the heads-up. I'm about to make this sauce. Already pulled the cranberries out of the fridge.
made a n00b mistake. Do not put cold cranberries in the pan..... cold = bad ^.^
I retried and this was soooooooooo delicious!! Thanks chef!
you call that a n00b mistake?? I don't even have a pan
I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love.
I made this this morning i didnt have the coriander or the stars but it still came out great
Coriander? What coriander!? Are you on something, bruh?
wish me luck,I am going to prepare it today for the first time:) actually making caramel for the first time in my life lol
ok,i added some cinnamon to the sauce :) turned out very very good, thank you !!!
I wanna eat at Gordon Ramsays lol!!
I need specifics on stopetop/oven temps. I just burned tf out of the sugar.
how long will it keep in a sterilised kilner jar?
I would worry about someone biting into a piece of cardamom pod...otherwise, this looks delicious! I am going to try this one out for sure.
And you couldn’t think of taking them out before you serve? Jesus. Some people are beyond dense.
Every thing salt and pepper
when he first said 'add salt and pepper' i was like WTF?! salt and pepper with fruit?! lmao :)
Yes. Salt and pepper. You must not know much about cooking. Or flavors. Jesus. The ignorance.
I wanna spend Christmas at your home ç___ç
rikimustaine he'd probably make you cry and want to run home.
Im feeling a trend here with the salt and pepper.
@kuniko7 The pods don't have much strength too them especially if you have cooked them :-D
@mi1kandc3r391 I lived in a town of 400people(in the entire township) and I could get these. Normally they're in the spice aisle but now that I've moved I find them generally in the aisle for indian food.
what are those pods he puts in called? i couldnt make it out nor have i ever heard of it before
Cardamom
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@ghostid Thank you, I didn't know that :-)
What kind of apples are those? Looks like pink lady, braeburn or honeycrisp.
My husband made this for Thanksgiving today. Though we could not find the pods(a of the world's most expensive spice) it came out great. We cooked it in a iron skillet. Thanks Chef Ramsay.
Karrie Gardner they sell them at whole foods market.... super affordable
where's the knob of butter??
@dontreadmyusername0 im not just talking about this video, some of the items i wont be able to find due to my location, every supermarket isnt the same
Tastes of sharpe marmalade
o and was port?
How did you prep the cranberries? Looks like you blanched them.
i'm thinking of making this sauce and serve it with duck... or is that just very wrong? any thoughts anyone?
I’ve had the same thought. Blackberries would be a nice touch with Duck as well.
it sure is.....LOL!...
@adidasteve
cardamom pods. ;)
do u take out the star anise??
Yes, when it is done.
Cardamum pods and starnese i took these out last few yrs i made this just counted how many i put in per batch and went looking for them afterwards didtnt want anyone biting down on one, i give some of what i make to family members for xmas which they all love and i make smaller portions which i freeze to do me throughout the yr and they taste great .i make sure i have enough left over for turkey sandwiches xmas nite just remember to bring cranberrie sauce back up to room temperature i usually put reminders in my phone for everything so not to forget..
Obvi.
i thought he was going to blitz them at the end
could you make this with dried cranberries?
🤦♂️😂
Just tried this. It was too rich for my liking. Once I added the port I knew I'd gone overboard and the orange juice just ruined the cranberry flavour. The apple and cranberry and spices thing before that was nice though.
i love cooking but isnt it kinda b oring gathering all those ingredients
@dontreadmyusername0 ...dude why so offended i do simpler cooking with not so many ingredients meaning im not used to finding all those ingredients.
Mine turned out really bitter, can someone help
more sugar its simple lol
You overcooked your caramel. Lower heat, or more sugar and watch it more
i think his goal in life is to make people fat! lol! but that look amzing
@v1p3rk1ll Always do take it out. Or else you'll be tasting that shit and only that shit.
When I tried to make this my sugar turned to hard candy when I added my cranberries. Could someone tell me what I'm doing possibly doing wrong?
Cooking it too long.
Your heat might not have been high enough. I made this mistake the first time. I kept the heat low so as to not burn the sugar. Also be sure to not agitate the sugar until it's fully melted. This will also help.
I love Gordon and I love cranberry sauce but this doesn't look fantastic at all. I love my cranberry sauce. I think I'll stick with my recipe.
What's the other junk he put in there
You deaf?
