    I'm not convinced the date of 1947 is correct. Around the 2 min mark, it appears as though the train is being pulled by a RSC-3, which didn't enter service on the PGE until 1951. Though the shots of Squamish at the end suggest steam power again.

      It is based on the source materials and a few things within the larger film this clip comes from. Your's is the fist suggestion of a later date, I will try to figure out if that is possibly the case.

      It also could be the case of film shot at different times cut together. The steam locomotive shown is #161 which was destroyed by a boiler explosion in Sept 1951.

      the film clip (and others) are part of a longer tourist film of BC and nothing would indicate that the film was not all from one trip.
      Because of the Black Ball ferry Chinook at the start and end and your information about locomotive #161, the film has to be between May 1947 and September of 1951.
