My dad and his brother worked in Wells. Not sure what years but it was probably in the early 1940s. I haven't been there but there is or was a larger than life photo of my uncle, taken by my dad, in the Wells museum.
mining companies need to be responsible for reclamation for these dangerous sites. A day or two work with a large excavator and some planning is all that is need to make these sites safe.....take the money and run they said!!
Well done young man. Are you Norwegian by decent too? (last name). My sons father was from Wells, they all left in the 1970s. They were Norwegian. But they were the Fishers in Canada. I miss him.
