I agree - I think we should ask her to do a new cover of this one - on her channel. I followed her almost from her start in After Forever, and she was/ became more and more amazing. And now she has no limits, her breath and voice techniques are improved significantly over the years.
Mmm kinda. He said that he liked the two albums with Annette and that she fits perfectly in the band. I have no heard or read anything else related to Nightwish (with Floor ) from Steve
Great response to Floor's voice technical development. Unfortunately there is (as long as I know) from the concerts in 2002 no live video available, only audio. But those may be even better than the 2004 concert. Listen and comment on After Forever live concert at Pinkpop 2002. ruclips.net/video/hvwkASAAE-o/видео.html you will instantly recognizing her operatic voice potential at the age of just 21. Setlist: 1. Semblance of Confusion 2. Estranged 3. My Pledge of Allegiance #1 4. Intrinsic 5. Yield of Temptation 6. Emphasis 7. Leaden Legacy 8. Follow the Cry 9. Forlorn Hope 10. The Key In 2002 Tuomas was already familiar with Floor Jansen’ potential at the age of just 21yo and in her 4th year in After Forever. On September 4 2002 the second concert that Nightwish gave in the Netherlands on the Tour Of The Century, on the occasion of their album Century Child. A sold out 013 in Tilburg got to see After Forever and Charon's Finns that same evening, next to Nightwish. it was more because she wasn't available in 2005 than he didn't want her as a replacement for Tarja. Or should I conclude that Nightwish was not ready for Floor Jansen at the time?
Listen to "energise me" by After forever to see how she developed through her band. Their most catchy song. You will love it. Excellent video clip too.
I would love to see her redo this one now with everything she has learned since this time. You can hear how the breath control here was still being built up to what she does today. This was great, but it would probably blow me away if she did this now.
Charlie, did you know she has a side project called Northward? It was a collaboration with Jørn Viggo Lofstad from Pagans Mind. There is at least one video of them with a song called While Love Died. On the Album there is a duet with Irene Jansen (who was also part of the cast in the Universe show by Ayreon (and in more Arjens projects)). Haven't seen a video of it, not sure if one actually exists, but you hear it on Spotify or any of the others like Deezer. Song title is Drifting Islands.
The Northward album - a project that started a good few years back but only recently recorded, is brilliant. Great rock which explores a voice that is a development of what we see here, rather than the Nightwish stuff. I love the fairly atypical Bridle Passion; a great performance of it here with stunning vocals: ruclips.net/video/LE20mmn4LA0/видео.html
@@Drinckx2 thanks for the info, bought the record sight unseen and played it a bunch of times. Sadly once you have a collection listening time per record drops..... a lot, more than a lot actually... Agree with you having followed After Forever and Revamp through today. Miss After Forever too, and it was her energy and talent that made me a fan. This was the first song I actually heard from After Forever and as a Maiden fan, loved it and became a fan of AF. As you said, as a singer she has become even more impressive is her sound and instrument. Thank you for the great reaction and explanations. And YES, a collab between Maiden and Ms. Jansen would be out of this world.
On the human nature album they start with music it's about the evolution of music. It's an amazing song. I loved your reaction. I haven't heard it before.
You should watch the documentary that was done on her and I think it’s call the rock academy reunion and she talks about walking away from music with no intentions of ever doing it again.
Let's challenge Arjen L. to get that sorted. Both Bruce D. and Floor are in his contact list (both appear in Ayreon). Prob hard to get him to do a "cover" but definitely worth a shot given the possible result.
Well, this is just one song, a cover, by After Forever. If you will concider doing 'Monolith of Doubt" by After Forever live at the Kopspijkers tv show in 2002, when she was just 21!, you will see she already had the operatic part completely under control, as well as experiencing the song. And she wrote the lyrics herself and co-wroted the music. There are live violin players in the studio as well! I really think you will like it. Btw, the burn out was onset by the fact that After Forever took a one year break. After the break, Floor really wanted to continue with After Forever, but the rest of the band decided to quit. She started Revamp, and during that time the burn out was undenieble. Btw this time i hit the subscribe button :D
