The title of this song actually comes from William Shakespeare's Julius Ceasar "The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interrèd with their bones"and Bruce often uses the full quote to introduce the song see the Rock In Rio live version.
I'd say this is the best song on this album. It has the sound of Somewhere in Time. Even though the video shows live performances, it's a studio recording. Hurm, the evil that men do, lives on and on. On to the title track. Keep rocking Maiden Hurm.
One of the best Iron Maiden songs - 'The evil that men do' 🤘🤘🔥🔥Adrian Smith's guitar riff (he played the solo)... w/ Bruce Dickinson's and Steve Harris' lyrics and musical input.
Super awesome, My favourite track on the album, Back in the day where I lived in the UK (South West Cumbria) we had no satellite or cable tv, no MTV or Music Box, we had The Power Hour, Top of the Pops and the Chart Show, It would be the highlight of the week when this video was played, Imagine the awesomeness when I got hold of a copy of Maiden England, I wore that vhs tape out, good times
Awesome song and reaction. Thanks for this opportunity to relive the Maiden albums! Now, on to the title track, with possibly four of the most epic solos and coolest outro EVER!
Dude keep going ... this is the most epic " Maiden " reaction train iv'e ever seen! Go all the way to their new stuff and appreciate how they evolve as absolute musician mastery. 80s , ,90s ( which I cant wait to see) and 2000 + all have their absolute bangers. Once you get to the 2000s you MUST watch the Rock in Rio gig ! Bravo brother!!!
It’s much better live I was in Sheffield City Hall in 98 on the front row and A’rry was playing right in front of me and could his fingers on the bass string playing the song it was a brilliant night
This song has been amongst my Maiden favourites since the 80s and no.1 on the album for me. Glad you liked it. I love the dark lyrics and there is a subtle Maiden gallop to it. As for all truly great songs you’ll never get sick of hearing it again and again….
I wish I could erase my Maiden memory and listen to Maiden again for the 1st time, man I miss when I got goosebumps when I first heard this song or Alexander The Great, when I used to jam in my car with Caught Somewhere In Time, when I used to headbang so hard when I listen to 22 Acacia Avenue. It's never the same now, cause I repeated their songs for 349539 times when I got into the band :(
This was the one along with Can I Play with Madness that was playing on the radio a lot, Can l Play was more of an Mtv promo video, this right here, was the first time in my life I have ever seen The Evil That Man Do on video, did not know there was a video of it, essentially the video was taken out of highlights from Maiden England. Now, the whole album it's fantastic and Seventh Son along with The Prophecy are the pick of the album for me, to me these two songs show how creative these boys were on this album. To me My top 2 Maiden albums, are Somewhere and 7th Son.
7th son of a 7th son is the highest point in this album, of course for me. the cloirvayent, the evil that man do, only the good die young are my favs in this album. Yet the one you felt like experimental maiden Infinite dreams is my one of the best songs ever list
the more i listen to this song the more i love it. like a lot of maiden songs. i agree it sounds like earlier maiden. i dont think theres any synth. it gallops along and gets the heart rate up. love love love it
The title track is epic. Clairvoiant is fantastic, the prophecy is different, but great as well. Only the good die young another killer track. This is a concept album. The lyrics of all the songs are telling the story of the 7th son of the 7th son.
This is THE best Maiden song. Whole album is good, but some songs are kinda repetitive. IMHO it can''t hold a candle to Somewhere in time. That's on a whole nother level.

All is possible. I have read fans stating that Can I play with madness is the best Iron Maiden song, so this answer is not weird.
IMO The Clairvoyant is the best.
@@michaelmontgomery8424 For me The Clairvoyant runs a very close second.
@@metalmark1214 I can't argue with you on that. It's close in my book too.

Great to see in those days people actually watching the concert and not a mobile phone in sight🙄🙄
not only is this my favorite iron maiden song but its my favorite song of all time
From The Best Maiden album. Infinite Dreams from this album is next level.

Hell yeah.I was at that show that night at the LA Forum.I also caught them at Irvine Meadows as well.
Clairvoyant is another good live vid (from the same tour)
For me their masterpiece is this song.

Awesome! i forgot about this one. That bass was thumpin' like it's supposed to be.
Title track has a masterpiece solo, but is totally different of “the evil”
Total badass song. Never gets old

Iron the best
My favorite from the album, and easily one of my top 10

Definately check this out from Rio in 2001
Another song that Mr McBride will Gallup his way on the drum kit. 🥁
Your voice timbre (at least talking) is very similar to Blaze Bayley's. Did you know?
This is THE best Maiden song. Whole album is good, but some songs are kinda repetitive. IMHO it can''t hold a candle to Somewhere in time. That's on a whole nother level.
Just IMO this is the last good album from Maiden but 7 sold albums in a row is more than impressive.
This is the last masterpiece album the next albums is good albums
@@stellong4963 I have to choose my words more carefully especially when it comes to Maiden. Agreed.
I might just be fanatic but of all the 2000s albums. I’d say Dance of Death is the only one that isn’t a masterpiece
Brave new world is one of the best comeback albums in metal history.
