- The U.S. Marshals have produced a new training video about their academy and the type of applicant they are looking to hire. While all federal law enforcement can be selective, remember that you hold they key to certain aspects of your qualifications and if you keep trying, you will succeed.
Love the video. You are very passionate about what you want to do in life. You are a great motivator. I love all the Federal Agencies, but them Secret Services agents and U.S. marshals go super hard

Is there any special requirements like experience and education?
@@dwightedwards3859 I believe it was 3 years experience in law enforcement may have been 1 and differs for pay grade going in as GS-5 or GS-7 I don’t remember the exact experience for each or also a bachelors degree in related field just be sure if you ever apply on USAJOBS to make sure you put in the KSA’s. If you are wanting to get in as schedule b hiring go to the USMarshals website and send a recruiter in your area an email letting them know you are interested in employment

Recently injured in the Army. (Parachuting gone wrong lol) Long story short I have titanium in my back now. Will make 100% recovery but I’m probably getting discharged in a year or less. Just turned 23 and the Marshal Service is my first choice, your videos are incredibly helpful thanks for all you do. God bless.

What i have heard is tht the Marshals are trying to l spots in Oklahoma and San Diego. The reason behind Oklahoma is because of the US v. McGrit(my have misspelled) case, right now those two places are priority. Its best to call ur local recruiter and get on some type of mailing list and have your resume ready to go.
You are correct. It is the McGirt case which holds that state/local have no authority on reservations, thereby requiring federal agencies to do all law enforcement in those areas.
Interesting. The Bureau of Indian Affairs is the primary law enforcement authority in Indian Country (Reserves/Reservations). Can you do a video on this agency.

So I have a question, I'm in a dilemma. I just got accepted for federal corrections and the sheriffs. I know no matter what I would stay in corrections I would like to be a special agent for another federal agency if I choose to stay in the system. However I'm also not sure which one of the two I should pick. What are some of the pro and cobs of each if you have any? Just need some insight from others , I am aware ultimately I will make the final choice but federal wants to start me now in OJT , meanwhile wants to send me to an academy in september
It depends on your goals. If you want to become an 1811 I would go Fed Corrections because it stops the clock and you get credit for your Fed time when u transfer into another Fed agency.

Do you have to swim at all in the US Marshal Academy?
Spent 4 years army as a scout in my early 20’s. I’m now 30 and due to lifestyle choices am in way better shape then I was back then (not that I was in bad shape then). I’m about to start a job as a 0083 series fed cop but where I’d really like to go is Marshals. I found out that the next application period for my region is next summer. I’m about 1.5 years from a bachelors thanks to the gi bill. Aside of working towards finishing up my degree, what else can I do to make myself a better candidate?
You sound like a pretty solid candidate . Basically it gets down to timing. You seem to have a good mix of experience and education .
Make sure you are in top physical shape. Once you start your new job, take note of when and if your perform duties required of DUSMs. Finally, have as strong a GPA as possible.
Im also a scout and about to get out and want to be a us marshall as well. Im also about to go to school for criminal justice and want to do everything I can to become the best candidate
@@corrinecrow3423 Those will both be very helpful in the application process! For my 0083 job, I actually trained where marshals do and having that entry level federal police job can help you out a lot too!
I, however ended up going a different route and dropped out of the running. A buddy of mine got on with marshals and got Oregon as a first assignment, and being in Ohio I wanted to stay local for my kids (one of which with an ex wife who wouldn’t be cool with me taking him across the country). So now I work for a metro fire department and am a real estate investor. Quite a turn😂

I worked in a county jail for three years, worked for the warrants division for 1 year and currently work patrol. Is a associate in criminal justice neccesary? Or should I get a bachelors?

If you are a US citizen, yes, I would think so. I know of a few who were direct hires from Vietnam after that govt fell. They werent even US citizens, but we owed them for the help they gave us, etc.
I was dropped from marine basic training due to issues with anxiety once I get cleared by a therapist is law enforcement still and option for me
Look into tapping and don’t be afraid to reach out for therapy, I’m overcoming my anxiety and this is my dream job. Even though Idk you dude I believe in you I pray for the best man.

SSG Timothy Griffith acting PSG was to the left of Brandon Brown and SSG Shoemaker his squad leader was on the right. SSG Timothy Griffith kicked Brandon Brown head like a football, Brandon jumped up to fight and SSG Shoemaker slide in with and arm saying you don't want to do that. Yes, they have plenty of reservists who are Marshals.
Is it true that you done need a bachelor degree?
A degree isn't required but it'll make you more competitive. Being a vet and having LE experience is what you want.

Not necessarily. If you have the qualifications for GS5 or GS-7 then it is possible to qualify with expereince.

Then got an Up on our hand grenades. Then a explosion happen in front of my MRAP on 22 SSG Ramos my Squad Leader ground guiding the MRAP. So Us Military are government AKA G.I. means Government Issue so. By the actions of my Chain of Command taught me it's allowed to Setup your guys to get murdered as long as BBC TV News station is video taping. I had more videos and pictures including what I have already uploaded but going through airport seem like the reason to delete or corrupted the files to where they don't open up. I have been across USA 6 times back and forth over a year using military CC Navy federal Credit Union, debt card. Had more videos and pictures even winter..Ice but those pictures are messed up...living in my Diesel truck because can't rent or buy. But left time to treasure hunts before kinda serious maintenance. When I Rode Amtrak from Chicago Illinois to San Francisco CA down to San Diego CA when I was last on Camp Penelton Base. Well I riding window seat. The guy that check tickets (strange odd looking) with bald head sits down starts talking about a 🔥/explosion on a previous Amtrak train he was on.
