One thing I remember from the TV broadcast of this game is a DePaul player shoving an NBC camera away during a late time out as DePaul was behind and frustrated. The cameraperson walked right to the edge of the huddle for an up close shot. I believe I heard this radio broadcaster refer to that, saying "the camera fell over" just after a cut.
It was salad days for the Midwestern Catholic Independents in the late 1970s as Marquette, Notre Dame, & DePaul all made the Final Four in back to back to back seasons.

Villanova was good then as well. Lost to Duke in the elite 8 in 1978.
Amazing find! Now, I have to wonder if there's a broadcast version of this game that exists.....
