Funny how people in general have been fooled to think that a car with the age of 12 years is "old car". It is not old, not even close. When a car has age of 20-30 years, you can say it is oldish, but still such cars are very much usable as daily drivers. I have 2004 volvo v70 and the car still feels amazing and has all the basic comforts that are actually important to have, everything works and the ride is smooth. It even looks modern because volvo made it right. It is classic and elegant and has a pinch of sporty touch. But it seems like car industry, politics and media has succeeded in brainwashing people and people think that if the car has been in use for 5 years it should be trashed and brand new model be bought right away because we love to waste perfectly good things.

@@erroristmusic Yes. I don't really need nor want all that modern smart technology. The basic comforts are enough that you can find in quality cars made between 1990-2010. After that they started adding really unnecessary stuff and plastic everywhere even in engine parts that will not last and can cause major issues or even break the whole damn engine. Luxury cars made in the 90s and 00 were robust. Fact is that the more you have electronics and technology in your car and fancy mechanics, the more you will have maintenance issues and costs.

I have a 2010 V70 R-Design w/3.2 six cylinder gas engine. Bought it with 185k miles on it but a one owner car with maintenance history. As a US driver I've never noticed the "poor" turning circle. The ride in the R-Design is a little firmer on rough roads but it handles much better than my 07 Volvo S80 V8 AWD. I'm 6'6" and have plenty of headroom even with sunroof. This V70 is my sixth Volvo wagon (estate) and, by far, the best. It's primarily my dog hauler but I really enjoy driving it.

Good review my tip is get the 2009/2010 without the satnav with the 17inch alloys, the dashboard looks mush cleaner without the satnav which doesn't end up dating the car and in truth doesn't work very well anyway , you will find if you have 17inch alloys you will have a more comfortable ride plus your whole suspension will be in much better shape , in my mind on a v70 makes sense they are a heavy car ,but are fantastic on the motor way's and long county roads which I believe the car was made for there a great safe reliable family car with more than enough horse power to make the drive enjoyable .

Gearbox is the main downfall of this car. Its just so irritating, in manual mode it does improve a bit, but again its slow to respond so you need to be used to driving the car to predict how the gearbox will behave.
