  • At the 31st Annual Easter Bonnet Competition, the company of Cats was runner-up with “The Battle of 52nd Street: Cats vs. Hogs,” a parody of “Jet Song” from West Side Story.
After ending a fictitious rumble between the cats and their 52nd Street neighbors, the groundhogs, a larger-than-life pink pussy hat, appropriately bedazzled in glittering lights, emerged as the company’s bonnet.
Broadway’s best shared playful parodies, stirred emotions and delivered dance-driven delights at the 31st annual Easter Bonnet Competition, which raised a record-shattering $6,379,572 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
The 31st Annual Easter Bonnet Competition was presented April 24 and 25, 2017 at the Minskoff Theatre. The production featured performances and 20 exquisite, handmade bonnets, created and presented by some of Broadway and Off-Broadway’s most popular shows.
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS unites theatre artists with theatre lovers to help those in need.
The money we raise together tonight for Broadway Cares will go to more than 450 social service agencies in all 50 states to fund lifesaving medication, healthy meals and emergency financial assistance for those living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses.
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS awards grants to more than 450 social service agencies in all 50 states helping those living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses. It’s also the largest single financial supporter of the social service programs of The Actors Fund, helping everyone in entertainment and the performing arts.
Broadway Cares hosts two six-week-long fundraising campaigns across the country every year, one leading up to the Easter Bonnet Competition in April and the other leading up to the Gypsy of the Year competition in December. Broadway Cares also produces annual fundraising events in New York City, including Broadway Backwards, Broadway Bares and the Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction.

Was that a heathers reference when they said "What the hell is going on" and so on until the cats talk again?
The tone he said that just had the same tone when Heather started singing at candy store
