How to fix teredo ip issue on Xbox One and Series X 100% (Still working in 2024)

- Hey guys i noticed there have been problems with the teredo ip location on xbox and decided to make a quick fix video, it has worked for everyone that has tried it enjoy! Also consider checking out my other channel Morgan Freeman ASMR

Disable QOS settings on your Xbox's network settings. This fixed it for me. This method unfortunately didn't work.

Deselecting both setting here seems to have fixed the issue for me also.
This is an absolutely ridiculous issue. Even when your router have ipv6 open the Xbox will not connect to the protocol.
Turning off these qos (quality of service) settings fixes it.

This didn't fix my issue but I liked because of your commitment to help people 🙏 I had this problem over a year ago and tried everything under the sun to solve it. Nothing worked. A few months ago I decided to try it out again and everything worked perfectly... until today. I guess sometimes things are out of your hands. I'll come back to it in a few days.

This problem has made me go mad! It started when i got black ops cold War on my Xbox series s, dropping me out of the game every third match or so. Thanks a lot!!
It's a miracle! It worked! I've been triple checking my router, changing my firewall settings back and forth in an attempt to reset it. None of that worked. My port was 3074, I changed it to 52149, cleared my MAC address, restarted, and my NAT changed to OPEN and the teredo address error did not pop up again. Thanks bro!

I was here literally a year ago with the same problem except this year Xbox threw me a curveball and gave me the green screen and black screen of death…made it through that problem & then my Xbox suddenly didn’t want to connect too the Wi-Fi so dug the rabbit hole of passed liked and favorited videos and found this diamond in the rough of a video to help me out. I like this video last year but man if I could like it more than once I would. Appreciate you so much for this video man!

Thank you! Worked exactly as intended. Chose a port starting with 51 and cleared my MAC adress. On startup I no longer had the teredo error.

If this doesn't work, take a look at your modem or router firewall. You should be able to see which ports it is filtering out. Play with the strength of the firewall and see if the teredo port opens (UDP 3844 I think). If you have your own router plugged into your modem you are going to need to put your modem into bridge mode.
Thanks this worked. Also I had my firewall security set to max so I had to manually allow some of the Xbox services to run

None of these have been working for me.. i just assumed it was my previous internet but I've moved house and it was working with the new internet but we changed providers again and it's not working anymore
edit:nevermind! I found a potential fix for u if this way doesn't work, check if theres a toredo firewall on ur router and if there is then disable it it worked for me

This didn't work until I tried changing alternate port selection manually a couple times and resetting MAC address everytime I try a new one, and I also reset the router. Thanks very much

thanks so much. i was having this issue yesterday so I took a break and checked on the xbox app which said that the servers had a problem. in a few hours everything was working. i'll use this video when it happens again. hopefully when the series x comes out we dont have any of these problems with teredo.

Your a life saver man! I had a buddy of mine that had this problem started happening yesterday while playing and all the sudden it stopped working the only game we could play was R6 but even that his latency would spike. We spent all day doing all the soft resets to clearing everything we thought was the problem then we came across this vid and part one actually fixed the issue! Big thanks from us!
P.S. we never had modern warfare either.

Please make sure to try all of the port numbers if the first one doesn't work for you! Then try the full system reset here are the steps:
1 turn your xbox to energy saver mode throught the power settings and sign out of your xbox account
2 unplug the modem/router
3 hard shut off your xbox by first pressing and holding the power button for 10-15 seconds then unplug everything from the back, power cable, hdmi, and ethernet cable if you have one (good idea to have one, helps a lot with these issues)
4 wait about 2 minutes
5 plug in router/modem first and allow it to fully boot up
6 plug in everything to the xbox and turn it on
7 sign in if you dont automatically
8 go back to network settings and check the nat type to see if it says unavailable, if so continue on
9 go to the port select a different one even if it doesnt say 3074, just a different one then what is there
10 go to alternate mac address and clear it then press reset and allow the xbox to do its thing.

Mine didn’t either. When I tried the highest number it still didn’t work (52356)

Yeah it's over 3 years since we moved to our current house so 3 years at least living with fucking teredo. And ipv6 isn't available so nothing I could do.

Brother thank you for this fix... yeah mine was 3074 had to change it. I was turning my laptop into a hotspot for WiFi to my Xbox and this fixed what was happening. So now I am able to connect from my laptop hotspot! Sweet

So after trying this over and over with no success and reading comments with other solutions without success. I finally noticed my ip address wasnt correct on my xbox. I hit ip settings which reset my ip back to the correct address, and that finally did it.

Yes for me i only had to do it once, i believe one of my friends had to redo it one time, but aside from that this has been a one time fix
Here's a simple fix that will resolve the problem forever.
Go into your router settings --> press on internet --> search for lists --> then press on global filter settings and uncheck teredo filter 👌

does yours go out at midnight? bc mine is connected to internet but the multiplayer stops working at midnight for some reason

@@jasonhernandez7343 it's weird, then it is fine in the morning and internet works with pretty much anything else. It is happening right now but I think it is a glitch with my router but we got a new one yesterday and Im using that now.

I’ve been trying this alongside altering DNS settings, it seems to sort out my NAT and allow me to connect to parties and play games but will then disconnect mid game, please help
