Dan, what to you think of the newer hacking and hand wind Seiko movements? How do they compare to the vintage movements?
Honestly, I don't know very much about the newer movements.
Do you typically put new mainsprings in these?
Not if they are in good shape. The original Seiko mainsprings are the best.

Hi Dan! Unrelated question, but what do you think of greasing the bezel teeth and case tube threads? Is it a bad idea?
I don't think anything beyond keeping them clean is really necessary.
