Just discovered your channel and have subscribed. I love the way you run switching ops with nice and slow moving equipment. In particular, I admire the fact that you strive to couple without nudging the car or cut that you're coupling onto. I also think it's cool that you seem to off set your couplers, in the clear, when preparing to shove into a siding. This allows the train to reverse and pull out with out having to uncouple in more congested areas. Thank you.
Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate the fact that you noticed that kind of detail in my "performance" and that the way I operate was enjoyed. I obsess a little with locomotive performance and while one of those models has since been decommissioned, its replacement has been tweaked to run just as slowly. To more switching ops!
@@SouthDown There is also the book Zen in the art of archery which is a different way to look at archery, but the book Zen in art of motorcycle decoration was beyond me.
Thank you! I just placed my order for my first structure and planning a visit to the local art store for an unusual order of acrylic plastic. Both nervous and excited!
Thank you, Sir! It's really the most enjoyable part of the hobby for me. This coming year the white ground comes to an end, I'm afraid. Should make filming future videos far more interesting.
Definately have been watching your vids for awhile now, but never commented til now. I really like what you have going on. Really like the neat and tidy, If I could go back in time, it would be much better to go your route lol. Keep up the good work! 🤘🏻
You are kind, but the truth is that I walked into the hobby knowing absolutely nothing. Seeing projects like yours are really eye opening (and mouth watering!) and provide plenty of inspiration. Thank you for the kind feedback!
@@SouthDown lol, appreciated man. But like I said, I would honestly gladly trade you places, your foundation is strong and very tidy, it only has great potential and I look forward to watching your layout grow. 👍🏻
Thank you for your feedback! The RS18 is a Rapido model, with the break functions tweaked and enabled. Only works when you drop to full stop from at least speed step 4 of 28. The other is an Athearn Genesis GP9 shell running on a GP7 chassis, which accidentally upgraded the decoder to Tsunami2. I tweaked the brakes so that if you drop four steps at a time the brakes kick in. Love the sound and the hiss.
Very nice switching layout. I like the way you run at scale speeds. That makes it so much more realistic. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the kind feedback! Really appreciate you taking the time and to hear that the way I like to play with my trains is appreciated!

Nice session! Shows "easy" moves still need their time and can be very enjoyable still.
Judging by your own channel, I'd say you've got the philosophy figured out. Looking forward in watching your progress!
@@SouthDown many thanks for the kind words and for subscribing! 👍
Zen in the art of shunting. Relaxing. Ops, I should have said Switching.
No, no. Shunting works. I’m heavily inspired by UK modellers. And I love the correlation with that great book. Thanks for the feedback!

Maybe it’s time I pursue further down the path of zen and trains, keeping it simple and accessible.
@@SouthDown Agreed
Nice switching session, like that CP locomotive 🚂
Haha! I can’t believe you watched this! I appreciate your kind words of support. Great meeting you at OVR!
Great video and lovely start to your switching layout.

Great video mate. Switching is a fun thing to do on a model railway layout. Merry Christmas.

Nice action. Really like the BC stuff
Great camera work! Makes me want to hop into the train room and operate some trains.
Thanks! I’ve got a “behind the scenes” coming up. It was harder than I had imagined.
Great video and very nice switching. Well done and happy new year
As someone I look up to, coming from you this feedback holds a lot of weight. Thank you!

Thank you! It’s a ceramic tile with letters glued on. If you were to check my “Model Railroad Fashionable Furniture” video you’ll see it being made.
Very Nice
