  • It’s 36 minutes and 59 seconds of me playing with my trains, mistakes and all, as seen from four cameras, some of questionable quality.

The sound is great, especially the wheel flange / brakes and the prime mover doing its thing (compressor, etc.) Cool switching. The MLW and EMD seems to be playing well together. Nice structure to do switching. Four cameras? Hocus-Pocus indeed! just like holly-wood. :) Great video and lots of fun.

How perfectly your speed matches your engines surprises me. extremely smooth; they barely fight with one another. Perfect!

Thank you. I appreciate the fact that you noticed that! I crave absolutely flawless performance or it’s death by cannibalization: I won’t tolerate stalling or hesitation if everything for smooth operation is in place and if effort to fix the issue within the model proves futile-or worse-endemic. Failures are scrapped for parts for the next potential candidate.

The 4 different angles makes the viewing much more interesting. I think I would try editing out your hand in the future. More scenery will also enhance the overall look, and that will come with time. The Walthers butcher is a huge improvement over the 3 paint bottles. I’m enjoying the channel.

Well, wow! Thank you for taking the time to provide such useful constructive criticism. I am currently finishing some 'room improvements' and looking into deploying "new" engines as all the Rapido ones have been retired. I am looking forward to hearing your continued opinion.

Needs more car chases and explosions. I like the multi-cam experience. Must have been fun to edit this one.

Despite the technical difficulties experienced between equipment failing and my inability to do such basic things as focusing, having four cameras proved to be quite easy on the shooting and editing. Maybe four smartphones next time! Thanks for your kind feedback as always.

I'm enjoying your videos, just subscribed, and I like the relaxing vibe you convey. Going to be messing with my trains soon, let us know if you're happy with the track plan as is, does it hold your interest? Or are you contemplating revisions. I'm considering a similar setup for my shelf layout.

Thank you for your support! Looking forward in seeing your plans. I'm quite happy with my current plan and it beats my first attempt. That might be perhaps a topic of discussion in a future video.

You do realize, that real RR's do not run at 1 M.P H.,even for switching.

Too many camera cuts in this one. The tempo of the editing should match the tempo of the subject. Here, your subject is trains moving slowly, but you have eleven cuts in the first minute alone. Especially with the sound levels changing at every cut, I just find this unwatchable. I wanted a nice relaxing time watching your beautiful slow-moving trains, but everything's just jumping about hyperactively.

Thanks for the feedback! Just needs to be more constructive as you clearly seem to know a thing or two about video editing but are only providing the criticism part of it. Perhaps the video coming out July 1st may be more to your liking: it’s a single cut from a single angle with 18 minutes of slow shunting with nothing more than engine sounds.

    • @beeble2003

@@SouthDown The constructive part is the tempo of the cuts matching the tempo of the subject. Here, things are moving slowly and nothing much is happening, so you don't need a lot of cuts. Just cut when there's something new to show. For example, once the train's passed one point, you might cut to it viewed from another point. Or when it starts going off in a different direction.

@beeble2003 I appreciate the feedback! As a one-man show with no experience in video making or editing, I’m trying to keep things always interesting by constantly cutting. With my computer down and being rebuilt/reinstalled as we speak, I’ll be curious to hear of your thoughts on the July 1st’s video.
