I am really agreed of your point when we can use any kind of sharp point object as our weapon. Its one of advantage having knife throwing technique in situation like that. And i suddenly remember bullseye battle style in daredevil.
Hell ya now this is my favorite topic when it comes to knife throwing! This is why I love no-spin the best! And I love that you added the fact that being resourceful and using improvised tools as throwing weapons can be useful too. Great vid!👌
The whole reason I got into knife throwing was as a self defense tool, then I got hooked cause it is so much fun. Using both hands is on a whole other level though!
I was distracted by you throwing the improvised projectiles with half spin. Also I like being able to fight hand to hand with the knives I throw. That's why my favourite throwing knives are those cheap serrated table knives they sell in supermarkets 💜
this is perfect man! I actually don't get why people think it's a non-viable thing to do. like actually. Someone that is good at it can pretty much throw anything against a target and do damage. steel, iron knives too expensive??? make stone ones, or brass or copper. It's definitely faster than pulling out your bow to shoot an arrow in an emergency and these knives are not so heavy especially if u keep them in a belt across ur torso. and u can have multiple belts like that not only on ur torso but also ur arms, thighs. like I don't get it :p anyway, I love this. in the book I'm writting I got like a character that throws knives a lot as a secondary, distractionary, tactical thing. It just makes so much sense that someone would do that given that they got the ability. i have him throw his knife at targets like 10 times in 2 chapters that are back to back and have chase sequences and action. (switching to a bow felt actually impossible to be realistic enough). I think I will even put another main character who is like a specialist in knife throwing, kinda like Vamp from metal gear solid but less weird XD @adam your vids have deffo made me confident that knife throwing is certainly realistic, I was kinda on the fence about it but after seeing your demos I was like ''damn! so I was right! it can be done that well without magic or technology!''
Good advice. I have always thrown knives, daggers etc & shot my bow instinctively. Same w/ shooting a basketball, your mind tends to just get in the way.
Hey Adam! I've been practicing the Ralph Thorn's technique for over 15 years now (although, intermittently). I recently had a session with a friend that had an OK slow-mo camera on his phone and we took some profile footage so people can have a good visual on the knife while I am throwing it. My performance wasn't that great as I haven't threw in a few years, but feel free to take a look, maybe it will inspire you for another great tutorial. Keep the steel flying friend!
Thank you !!😋 I ptactice everyday ar any distance with everything I find (not to expensive, 'cause it breaks quickly against wood😁) : kitchen knifes, table knifes, sceewdrivers, broken knive's blades, big nails, burins, big tent pegs and some more. Sometimes painfull for my shoulders (especially the light ones) but have a lot of fun!!😁
Adam, there's a RUclipsr Martial Arts competition that's been going on where several martial arts practitioners joined together to put their skills to the test against each other in several challenges. Pretty much a fun "practice what you preach" kind of contest. It'd be interesting to see if something similar could be done with combat knife throwing, maybe using rounded-out wood dowels and wearing face protection. We always have these theoretical reasons why combat knife throwing would be viable. It'd could be enlightening to put it under pressure and see what a combat knife thrower also needs besides the skills.
I love you bro! Like straight up as I was telling #fulltangclan you and him basically on my idols 🎉🎉 and there's two other names that you know! Lol cuz you know we're such a big community 😅 😜 love The video like normal! 💜. #bringthatlovenotthathurt #knifechucker.... So you know apparently I just need to grab a set of those! So I'm going to use THE AFFILIATE LINK BELOW IN DESCRIPTION !! And grab some so that k you brother !!
You make some very good points in your video about combat throwing. No Spin is hands down the best throw for combat knife throwing but I would also consider underhand instinctive full spin if the attacker is a little further away or instinctive military half spin. I find both of these secondary throws can generate a lot of force. One thing that is huge factor is the weight of the knife and shape of the knife. I wouldn't recommend anything under 155 grams for combat knife throwing and nothing over 400 grams. 250-350 seems to be pretty idea weight although I sometimes practice combat style throwing with knives that weigh 390 grams because they literally hit like sledge hammers. You also made a good point about having multiple knives for combat throwing. I would recommed carrying at least 6. 3 heavier blades for close proximity and 3 lighter for targets further away. The acejet stingers I believe weigh 350-360 grams and they hit hard making them a good combat throwing knife. I think the Acejet Apache would also make a good combat throwing knife and a good combination with the stingers. Excellent video.
Knife throwing in actual combat is essentially useless. There is almost no circumstances in which it would be a useful tool or effective. That said most of us military guys still lean the skill just for fun and because its cool. I'd be surprised if there was even one single knife throwing kill during actual combat throughout all modern wars. Even on the street against an attacker its pretty useless. The situation would have to be so ideal , like one in a million. Knife fighting is a much more practical skill to have as it absolutely can and is useful.
Awesome video my friend ! Do you think switching grip from "hammer grip" to "finger on the spine" during fight can cause delay and be notice by the enemy ? What do you think about no-spin but with thumb on the spine, more similar to a fighting grip ? Have a great day !!
In russia fighting grip/thumb grip is very popular and for close distance its super easy to throw with a thumb grip no spin so enemy will have no idea that you gonna throw the knife specially if you have two knives in hands
Hey Adam.....love this reel. I want to be able to spin, jump, run, and turn about....but I am elderly....74 years old. What advice to you have for us older folks in the combat knife throwing area?
Thank you Penny, i would say for older people its the moment of surprise - Act totally weak, beg attacket not to hurt you and when his guard is down boooom all in attack! But of course no battle is the best one ,)
@@AdamCeladin Thank you for this advice Adam.....I think about what would I really do in an event such as this. I like the BOOOM all in attack! Thank you! Love yaz!

AKA trying to send some traffic your way? And show people you basically without saying your name so much, Thanks again 😁 5:42
Awesome video as always. Finally got my hands on the Acejet spinner, and finally got my rotational throwing down consistently, but I still can't seem to get no spin throwing down. Do you think getting something more purpose made for no spin throwing would be beneficial, as far as learning to throw more like this?
@@AdamCeladin no, thank you. All of your videos showing tips and techniques for throwing have really helped me out along the way, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Keep being awesome my friend.
Adam, I'm new here and I've always been interested in knife throwing and would like to take another try at it. I really like those knives, but when I went to Amazon they wanted $299.00 + tax for three of them, which is too much for me. I've worked with metal a lot and think I could make my own, but would rather buy good ones. Can you suggest a similar knife for a lot less money? Please reply.
Awesome topic, Adam, and a fantastic display of skill, as always! Speaking of throwing anything, these needles are spectacular for getting practice with lighter found items- ruclips.net/user/shortsRW2K7P3JTyU?feature=share

Ralph Thorn have a youtube channel?
Knife throwing was for combat and, hunting.
🧡
If you wanna throw like Ralph thorn watch Ralph thorn throw knives real simple
not true, Ralph was using cheap throwing knives from china and made handle on them ,) his concept was use anything with a sharp point ,)
I would like to see some straight throws with those blades instead of rotation, can you do it.
🤘🤠
Can you come to Idaho and give a class???
Toooo short movie 😅👍
What about jump throwing? I think that is a more powerful throw when you throw like handball player
