The most I'd want for Makoto in a future persona game would be him being a persona or a persona alluding to him, somehow Elizabeth was able to allow his soul to be free and become apart of the sea of souls and becoming power for those who would also stand up to something as great as death itself.
i think p6 having a femc could work if both protags exist in the story and are twins and their roles are switched depending the player to choose mc or femc like genshin impact with aether and lumine or zzz with wise and belle
My wish list for person 6 looks like: 1) A good story 2) Voice acting in social links (especially after P3R) 3) The ability to review cut scenes BEFORE RE RELEASE (as was the case with P5R and P4G) 4) Add mini games to the Social Links. (Even if nothing of this appear in the game (besides good story) i still buy it, so it is not that matter)
You cooked with The Answer/Episode Aigis slander. I also love that you didn't immediately say, "Erm, ackshually, you can't do that, did you miss the point of the game??", rather you gave a nuanced take of your opinion. Oh btw, Merry Christmas Mullls!
My take for persona (even tho Im more a Smt head ngl) is that FeMC should have her own spin off with a new story. Not only would be better than any "Um actually this happened" that has been given P5 spin offs. But a new oportunity to re define Persona's spin offs into new stories in that persona entry universe. Also bring philemon and nyarly back, it would be much more significant it if you get "tha bad ending" of the persona game not by one singular choice but like different paths this 2 divorced deities show you
I'm certain they won't have aspects like the Nanako, Caroline and Justine, or Lavenza stuff. I don't think it would be Metaphor's fault and just due to Sony and Steam getting more strict over the years and the culture of dev teams getting altered from Western influence. Same reason why stuff had been cut in previous entries. As for gender It would be a terrible idea if they let you choose between a male or female protagonist. The devs should choose one and stick to it. In modern games where this option is available it tends to make the main characters lose personality and they tend to go through the exact same story and react the same to everything. Alternatively if they gave each of them their own version of the story that would just take away time from what would have been a singular story. Its one of those things that sound nice but always ends up lowering story quality. The reality is when you add a new model for an alternate protagonist and tweak their cutscenes and dialogue that costs extra development resources. This type of stuff sounds nice but ultimately waters down the vision of the writers.
I think the press turn works better for making weaknesses and crits important for both sides. The lack of female MC is weird considering there's good male routes and half the time its not like gender matters. Also I wish they milked Persona 4 as much as they did 5.
I didn't really feel the milking with arena and Q because they crossed over with other Persona groups. So in Arena it was cool to learn it all happened in the same universe. Q was showing how the whole group interacted with each other including two who wouldn't be there in arena.
And not only as the FEMC, and don’t tell me they won’t because it’s Japan, when Nintendo lets same sex couples exist in Fire Emblem, Atlus has no excuses.
one thing i want is for physical moves to not feel op in comparison to magic it feels boring if my best move is use a phys multi hitting attack every turn
P6 should have a male protag. P6 should have cameos from previous games. P6 should have better romance system. P6 should have a new proprietor aka someone other then Igor. Considering the fact that the Japanese voice actor died and it would be weird to her him speak in a different voice. P6 Chad yuu has to be a social Link. P6 has to be even longer then p5 royal. Because i dont want the journey to end. P6 makoto needs to be saved in this one. P6 should have the game confirm that Elizabeth is the main romance interest. P6 Door kun has to have white hair when he comes back. P6 has to take place in a small town. Like in p4, cus cosy. Which wouldnt work now when i think about it. A game about life would have to be HUGE. 😅
I mostly agree with your take about bring Makoto back in P6. I guess my worries were more about the execution of it because I felt like Shinji and Chidori not dying felt really cheap to me. Makotos arc in P3 was perfect to me and if they do it wrong it would leave a bad aftertaste (iykwim). Shinji and Chidoris arc were also really good, but the fact that Shinji could be saved by a watch (or smth, idr remember), I remember not liking that at all.
I feel like Shinji was only saved by the watch was the Female MC (don't remember her official name) giving him a reason to not run headlong into death.
I don't know if this is a hot take or not but... What I need from P6 is to not have a plot twist that breaks my immersion in the story as much as "We knew Adachi was a traitor from the beginning. It works for that specific moment but the moment you take time to think about the story and the characters decisions from the point of flash become so SO weird when you learn they "knew all along". And one I know will be a hot take: I want the old Persona 1&2 persona system where everyone has multiple personas unique to them so you can customize your parties with each person having unique things on their own to make party building far more interesting. Also no more Persona switching in battle.
hot take, Persona 6 needs a character that is similar to Aigis, what I mean by that is that we need a special character that the story revolves around and uses the theme of the game in special ways, and I mean not the Atlus new girl extra chapter way, I mean the whole Story, P3 is more an Aigis Story than a Makoto story even without Episode Aigis, with this you can have a silent protagonist but have a second protagonist that can grow during the story and can show emotions. and if Atlus wants it they can do DLC or a spin off with that character as the real main character just like Episode Aigis
As someone who plays exclusively with AI controlled party members, P5's baton pass never felt too overpowering, because the AI never fucking uses it lmao. That did make the Okumura boss a bit annoying, but otherwise, the game was pretty simple even with that restriction. I know most people prefer manual control, and the series should never go back to strict AI control like in FES, but honestly, I wish the games accounted for AI control as an option. FES party members were dumb sometimes, but were generally competent if you directed them right. In P4 onwards, the AI is dumb as bricks.
Regarding to there not being a female protagonist, in the Persona series beside Maya and Kotone. Frankly I don't mind but at the same time the main concern is the budget they're working with to make Persona 6, and if we want a female and male protagonist its possible but the resources and money required would used up a lot of money. The budget was an issue when they were making Persona 3 Reload and they thought to add in Kotone to Reload but realized that they don't have the funds to be able to do that so they opted to make The Answer. Frankly, its possible Atlus could get the funding to make a Female and Male protaganists, but still I think most likely it's unlikely considering the amount of money required to tweak certain things like cutscenes, animations, models, difference in social links, etc. I'm not a game developer but when it comes to anything relating to animation, coding, etc I have some knowledge that it takes a lot of time to get these down. Also considering they would have to make original Persona 6 assets, they would most likely stick to a male-only protagonist, because of the budget to begin with. They made Persona 3 Reload from the ground up and reused some/certain assets to help offset the cost but still sadly not enough funding to be able to continue for Kotone's route. Now that's just me opinion but most likely Atlus will stick with a male protagonist route unless they could do it to where they co-protaganist with a female lead which I think would be a great way to play a female protagonist for a story segment. Like, the male protagonist within the story is unable to be within certain segment due to plot reasons. Either way I think it would be nice to have another female protagonist but at the end of the day I think funding is an issue and also how long the development team is able to implement certain elements of the Persona games that we enjoy to begin with.
I think people heavily underestimate how much development time and money it would cost to do 2 protagonists in a game like Persona. They were able to do it in P3P because it's a simpler game, but there's a reason they have never attempted it since. I don't mind if they do a Female MC or not, but they're probably going to have to choose one or the other
my take is that the next game should be less trope heavy I really want them to loose the "I won't get defeated!!!!!!!!!! with the power of my friends i will BEAAAT YOUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I actually disagree and they should let ppl choose to be a girl or a boy the dev choose if they a girl or a boy because if they do improvement that they need to do 2 set of cut scene and i dont se them doing that
My wish/hot take is that Persona 6 should take place in college instead of high school. I understand why they set it in high school easier to plan for since high school is way more linear than college and some stories mainly 4 need it to be high school. However, college brings a fresh new perspective as you can meet people from any background and their interests. For a persona game all about life college fits the school role better as in media in America at least is where you find your passion and discover who you are so I think the theme for life for persona 6 would be best with you taking place in college instead of high school
You know if japan didn't view high school as the best years of your life and adulthood as basically hell because of their toxic work culture we could have a Persona game with adults again.
The most I'd want for Makoto in a future persona game would be him being a persona or a persona alluding to him, somehow Elizabeth was able to allow his soul to be free and become apart of the sea of souls and becoming power for those who would also stand up to something as great as death itself.
That would be cool if he could assist other users. Maybe even him helping in the Velvet Room.
After metaphor, i want persona set in london

Thank you Abhijay! Merry Christmas to you too!

They did milk it a lot. The 2 arena games, the dancing game, and the Q game.

Persona 4 has two animes and got a dancing game before 3
Persona 6 should let us date men.
And not only as the FEMC, and don’t tell me they won’t because it’s Japan, when Nintendo lets same sex couples exist in Fire Emblem, Atlus has no excuses.
Fire Emblem been doing this before Atlus existed. You're also forgetting Tomodachi Life
Heck yeah! If that is an option I will see through all different romance opportunities.

POV persona fans following children all day
Hell no, I don't want Press Turn in Persona! I like that Persona has more relaxed combat than SMT or Metaphor. The game has a different vibe.
Merry Christmas 🎁 and just started the video
Merry Christmas and hope you enjoyed it!
@ i always enjoy your videos. So I already knew I was gonna like it
Takemi
I actually disagree and they should let ppl choose to be a girl or a boy the dev choose if they a girl or a boy because if they do improvement that they need to do 2 set of cut scene and i dont se them doing that
Yeah I don't see them actually doing it unless both characters are actually characters in the story and you just choose who you control
they can do some workarounds eg cutscenes are first person, limit MC appearance in cutscenes
