Every variation has its purpose. The toe kick in Changquan is meant to be aimed anywhere from the groin to the naval and can be a snappy stabbing motion or more of a push. We train with shoes though
Savate also uses a hard shoe and incorporates the same kick. I like using it to poke people in the stomach sometimes to mess with their perception of my range, but I only like doing it if I know I have a skill gap advantage and feel incredibly confident I can land it, because it is otherwise needlessly risky.
the toe kick worked for savate because savate uses specialized shoes to fight and that protected the toes. you can't just kick with the toes barefoot, it's gonna hurt you way morr than your enemy. it's good that karate later started using the instep and heel to kick. you tkd guys need to get into an actual competetive fight to see your delusions don't work.

I actually tried Kicking with my toes (not full power obviously) and it's not that bad. You just need to use your Big Toe and don't let the toe fold downwards upon impact.
As others have mentioned, its usually for kicking upwards, to the groin, not with the toes, top of the foot. Imo You are demonstraiting two different kicks. You shouldnt kick upwards like that with the toes back, you will likely damage them. Using it for a forward kick, using the hips to push forwards rather than up, yes, pull the toes back.
The Okinawa people train the their toes for mawashi-geri = round kick, I also saw your other video about the karate front kick, they kick low because they attack the vital areas like the knee, groin, etc. not the head or upper body. otherwise they kick like you do. I mean no offense. I know you are complaining because you don’t know what our goal is. we come from different martial arts. oh and I forgot the the reason they are in that position is because of application in bunkai (kata). in the bunkai the thing that is happening is that they being grabbed by the two hands, so they put their foot back and get in a low position. from there they kick in a vital part, THE GROIN. that’s all I wanna say and I just wanted you to understand why we do things different so you don’t disrespect a little bit you know what I mean. thank you
