It's interesting how 00's and beyond shoegaze sounds different in many aspects when compared to 90's classic shoegaze bands. I can (roughly) say that classic shoegaze bands had a lot of influence from post-punk, 60's rock and even surf music. But modern shoegaze in many times blend the genre with other things, especially post-rock (my fav combination post-rock/shoegaze). There is also the Japanese shoegaze which is a whole unique scene with awesome bands too.

@@MrMookRecords I have been to at least 10 other countries and they were all better. sure there's stuff to do here but if you don't live in the city and don't have a car it's all very much inaccessible. most other places have more to do, better public transport, and places have decent opening hours. I swear it such an Irish thing to have crazy inconvenient opening hours, I'm always shocked when I visit a different country and I can just show up and a place is open, and I don't have to check ahead days in advance to know if the planets have aligned for a place to be open the same time I'm able to visit. Ireland has some cool stuff, but it's also very limited. for example, there are absolutely no goth clubs here. I find that outrageous. but at least we've got a thriving metal scene.

@@k4nd1incyb3rsp4c3 the Goth clubs thing is a supply and demand thing. Not sure but does Dance To The Underground count (In Fibbers).
Opening hours for clubs are changing. That's a recent development. A long time coming. It's impossible to find a supermarket open in Austria on a Sunday. UK pubs close quite early on a Sunday too. . Ireland has an amazing underground music scene right now (Rising Damp, Lankum, Gilla Band, Myles Manley, Fixity, Hubert Selby Junior Infants, Jinx Lennon, VillagersThe Bonk, Search Results, Panik Attaks, Woven Skull) and the amount of outdoorsy things ye can get up to once you buy some hiking boots or swim socks is off the dial!
In short, Ireland rapidly getting way less crap than it was...

SodaStereo is one of the most popular bands argentinian bands, but in 1992, after the release of Loveless, they decided to experiment with Shoegaze. Being their most alternative album, it wasn't a succes at the time, but it's definitely one of the best Shoegaze albums and the best album of the band.
