Thank metallic for making two other bands if you think about it they almost had les Claypool &the kicked dave out So again thank you for not taking them metallic we appreciate it 😅
I met les Claypool at an insane clown posse show in Tampa years ago, he gave me a flyer for one of his upcoming events. Janus landing......totally in disguise. Wild hair, cowboy hat, looking like a hobo, but when I called him out, he turned and smiled at me, then disappeared into the crowd! TRUE STORY!!
Ole Les is a well seasoned man who cannot be counterfeited. A man who only gets better with age, like some of the finest bourbon from the Appalachia mountains, that warms your heart and leaves you feeling all fuzzy inside. Here’s to you Mr. Claypool.🥃🫡
@@wtburns01Why does EVERYONE say John Entwistle? The dude played for The Who. They aren't exactly virtuoso players, except Keith Moon obviously. He's just so goddamned average at bass, & everyone ALWAYS says his name when naming their favorites. He is just a standard, sub par bassist. He could NEVER play like Les does, not if his life depended on it.
I've seen Primus so many times I go every time they are near me and every single show all I can do is watch this man's hands, he is an absolute musical genius! Primus sucks! Much love from the Adirondack Mountains
just met him in st paul on the 3rd after the frog brigade show!! he was super tired but still told the hotel staff to let us get pictures real quick, he seemed super nice
@@casanovafrankenstein8538 Primus quite literally cover Rush as a joke when they're just messing around before they get serious to play their own shit. Geddy's bass playing is like child's play to Les. You really think Geddy Lee could play Tommy the Cat?
If u grew up in that time and somehow didn't listen to primus u missed some iconic music and not only the music but the awesome entertaining MTV music videos at 5 in the morning 😂
Primus is one of a kind, no one even tried to reach to that imaginary bar that they could only reach. I loathed them until I loved them. It didn’t take long
I saw primus in 1996, right after that i found out i was pregnant with son my babies have gone to some of the best concerts while i was pregnant except my youngest but his taste in music is like mine i guess i filled my uterus up with enough good music.
One of my favorite Primus concert was New Year’s Eve 1995/96 at the Oakland coliseum. It was supposed to be Primus, Tool, and Alice In Chains. Unfortunately Layne entered drug rehab and they had some other band fill in. Les was unbelievable.
Watched LC & FFFB at a small outdoor venue in Houston Had no expectations. They blew me away. Especially when warm up band played Thella Hun Geet Jeet... Adrian
He is unreal! The skill he has on bass is just amazing! He is a front man and plays all the rythm of the song on bass which is unmatched by anyone on the planet. Plus sing! The only other that comes to mind that might come. Lose to his skill is Tom Araya from Slayer.
years ago before Primus really grew in popularity. I had the pleasure of eating dinner with Primus, they arrived a little late for the show. I helped carry in their equipment. And Les asked me if i wanted to sit down and have some pizza with them... Of course i did.. we made small talk while eating. They are very down to earth. and if you didnt know them. awesome. I saw them in Orlando Lollapalooza i think? 1991 ish...We were up front to the side of the stage and Primus was at least 30 minutes late on stage and you could see way back behind the stage was a small lake. Les was fishing at the edge. As he finally gave up he walked on stage with his fishing pole and shrugged his shoulders and said the fish weren't biting.
Dudes got like, 10 different identities
😂😂😂😂
His current phase is probably the coolest
I saw him the other night, and he was kind of dressed like a leprechaun, but then he also wore a disco ball helmet, and then a pig mask 😂
They're called outfits😂
Pig man.
His slow but steady transition into a deranged circus ringleader is just 😙👌🏼
😝
Is he still out i seen him do a Tool cover if he is let me know thank you

Got to appreciate Claypool's evolution from highschool prankster to steampunk inventor
Les is one of the few bass players who gets lead guitarist respect.
He's literally the lead in his band. His guitarist is all rhythm.
@@Dr.Rosenbaum not... lol
Which says more about the lead guitarist's lack of talent than anything else.

Why is he the coolest motherfucker on this planet!
Someone has to be
Because "cool" went out of style back in the '70s.
Becasue John Entwistle is no longer with us?
Somebody has to do it.
He was too good for Metallica lol 😂
He would have hated it in Metallica. Glad he didn't get that gig
Lars would have muted his bass, just like they did on "And Just for all“
They thought he was weird. They wanted to put it nicely
His skills would have been wasted I'm sure was the point of that

Without a doubt a solid top 5 greatest bass players of all time. Les Claypool is a master class in playing.
So, just for fun, name your top 5. Here is mine, in no particular order:
Tony Levin
John Entwistle
Claypool
Leland Sklar
Abraham Laboriel
Might be a different list next week.

My absolute favorite song by Primus I could listen to this 1 billion times and never get tired of it
