    I can't stop smiling watching you two cruising on one engine past unfamiliar landmarks as you prepare to go under your first bridge in a longtime, chatting excitedly while knocking on wood every few minutes in the hopes it protects you against unknown surprises of the inconvenient or costly kind and, undaunted, steering on course to this newest adventure with a beautiful but slightly wobbly wheel. You look so at home and happy on the water again!. Congrats, keep it up and best of luck with this exciting project! You will do it! Cheers!

    That's awesome. Uneventful inaugural run. Tied up safe. Perfect. Some of those uppity marinas are just bloody ridiculous. I trucked a load of dock boxes to one here in B.C. once. I couldn't show up before 8am. When I started to unstrap my load they bitched because my belt winches were to noisy. I couldn't turn the corner to get to where they wanted them because I might scuff the parking lot. It took us 5 hours to unload what should have taken an hour and then they wouldn't sign for the extra time. So when I left I wound the engine up as much as I could and use the Jake brake for every gear. And because I was empty my trailer brakes unfortunately locked at the end of the driveway, but only for about 10 feet. I know, I know very unprofessional. What can I say. Lol.

    I'm the guy that was on the other side of the dock for 2.5 years. Lots of people have had the unfortunate issue of having to deal with safe harbor. They are truly assholes and try to make anybody that doesn't have a "pretty" boat leave by putting pressures on them that are just stupid. You are way better off getting out of there. I loved living on my boat there and made some great lifelong friends, but the safe harbor hassles were just not worth it. They were not putting any money into the marina and I'm sure you saw the results.
    VERY impressive motoring all the way to the new marina without any issues. Hope that gives you confidence in your new boat. Is it Napa Marina?
    Great luck!

    • @kentfletcher8539
      @kentfletcher8539 2 года назад

      They went under the Mare Island Causeway bridge, so it's either Vallejo Municipal or Vallejo Yacht Club, probably the former.

    • @davidpatterson4184
      @davidpatterson4184 2 года назад +1

      @@kentfletcher8539 Hello Kent, fun watching these two isn't it.
      Don't want to argue, but they were going specifically to have the boat hauled. Neither of the marinas you mentioned have that capability. I don't think any of the Vallejo marinas have that service available.
      I spent 3 years traveling all over the Bay and Delta. Near the end of the vid I thought I recognized the Napa River. There is a very well know diy marina just before you get to the town of Napa where many trying to save a few dollars tend to haul. This would be great for them if that's where they ended up.

      In are Marine I have found with mine there a lot of Monday morning quarter CAPTAINS. Everyone always has some advise on how you should do your work. I had one want-a-bee CAPTAIN (Not)
      Point out scratches on my clear plastic as I was cleaning it. I just smiled at him. But inside I was saying "what a tool". There is a group of old guys that like to sit in chairs on are dock. They all drink BEER. And talk all this BS. One-up-man ship to each other. It funny to listen to after they start drinking a case of beer. The story's start sounding like they sailed the 7 seas.

      That is very nice of you. A great California resident. I want to volunteer my time to them if I was in that state. Help them with extra hands. I love someone who wants to restore old Trollers
      The main Gally right next to helm station in main cabin, I love that design. The fly bridge for docking with two people. My Marina makes you sign papers if you want to LIVE ABOARD.
      We had people who would only keep there boat in slips during the warmer weather. Some lived on board. I'm not saying anything against these two. But I had thief on my boat because of these short term people. The Marina did not want people living abroad, they asked all the rest of us to tell the Harbor Master if people were living abroad, short term people. You could NOT park in marina unless you had a boat
      NOT keep vehicle in parking spaces. They ticketed people if you did not get a window sticker. We had a thief ring work are marina once. The police and marine employees watched the videos. The doors take a picture each time you went down to slip. Plus now there are camera in parking lot. They got the thief's. Good Detective work by marine. It sucks for them. But it's because of Theft is the reason for Parking issues with there big problem. Hope they take you up on parking there Rig.

And your new boat is going to be amazing. But to have the privilege to watch you to do what you do best is priceless. There’s not a dollar figure here. It’s knowledge. It’s everything that is #OfTheEpic. I am so stoked for this. I know you should film both, and I hope you do. And I cannot believe I’m this excited for something so simple. Hey guys glad to see you made it to Cali and more specifically to the Bay! I’m a Bay native (now about 1.5 hours away in wine country) and have been watching your journeys for years now. I’ve also been VERY close to purchasing my own trawler and or cruise-able boats. I’d like to extend an offer from me. If you guys need help with restoring the boat, I’d love to help. Gives me experience on when I purchase my own. Also, there’re way nicer marinas in the Bay as well as down south in Santa Cruz. Also, nearest to you would be Half Moon Bay. Wish you well and if you have questions, feel free to contact me!

      Santa Cruz is nice, but it's a several year wait to get a slip... Maybe Moss Landing, any of that is a long trip on an old trawler that needs work. A lot less trouble (not to mention SAFER) to go further inland. Check out the Delta Doo Dah rally!

      @@kentfletcher8539 Yep very true. Probably a lot more lenient on working on your vessel at the delta. Grew up camping and fishing there too.
      I’m not too far from the delta now. Just wasn’t a place I’d think they’d like.
      Plenty of cool marinas though for cheap.

    Ya know I think that the marina is missing an opportunity. They could sell tickets so folks could come watch you two work on your boat, heck they could even sell hot dogs and popcorn. Some folks just have no imagination. Good luck on the rehab work guys, I have faith. Keep the good stuff coming.

    I love it and not to be glad you were kicked out of the Marina, but I sure enjoyed getting to see it on the water. You even have dinghy davits! It looks as if it will shine with just being cleaned up, I think this new adventure will be incredible!

    I was totally surprised that you guys had no issues moving that and extremely happy about it, as well. I hope things go well, getting the old girl gussied back up! The possibilities are many if you guys can get her back into good condition, without paying a fortune. I'm looking forward to the process. --Jessica from Florida 🌞
