The boat is Gorgeous. You don't need a Kat anymore. You struck Gold with this boat.
You’re in the same marina as Salt and Tar! RUclips worlds are colliding!
Ramp looks great! You might consider painting it with some mason sand texture, otherwise "slippery when wet!"
I was thinking the same thing. Glue some sand paper down so you don’t go down.
@@jlewis4587 Or 1X2 cleats.
@@woodside63 whatever keeps the wife from landing on her keister.
Buy a roll of Non-Skid Tape
Roll roofing would work great for the ramp as you could split it in half and nail down.
I wanted to suggest nailing some wood strips across the ramp about every 14 inches or so to give you better contraction and avoid any slips and long falls
Great idea :)
My immediate thought as well
definite cross strips for Jetty
Caution! Slippery when wet!
...or to trip on ..no way ...paint with some cheap non skid
I am so over the top super stoked you bought an old new boat. Let’s face it, for those who don’t get it, go back and watch. You will fall in love with every single video because they’re so awesome and original and fun and inspiring. I am so glad you bought this boat.
say hi to Salt & Tar while you are down there, they are building an awesome wooden sailboat in the same marina.
When you get the boat done, be sure to re-visit that marina that threw you out. Let them see the beautiful boat that won't be gracing their slips and improving their image. :)
You two are not mad you are just damn lucky and endlessly entertaining. So I for one cannot wait for reverb to begin. Love you xx
I believe the saying is "idle hands are the devils playground", and in general it's true. See what he got you into with your idle hands. Actually it looks like fun guys and I can't wait to see her come to life. Keep the good stuff coming.
Get a roll of roofing and attach it to the ramp. When I drove truck, I delivered kegs to bars on the Sacramento River and that is what we put on the ramps. You could put slates on it too, to hold the paper down, but if you hand truck anything on your boat, you’ll have to jerk it over each slate, but those slates will help you stop if you start sliding down your ramp.
Love that you basically built the ramp for jetty. You guys are awesome
Y’all have faith that can move mountains. If you get down and discouraged and need encouragement, rewatch your wedding vows. Good luck. P.S. Billy you might nail down some 2 inch wide strips across the plywood like some have mentioned, it is called a Chicken Walk, plywood gets super slick when wet, especially if you get any saw dust or dirt, etc. on it. 👍 🙏😎✌️
ALWAYS, always love watching you guys with my wife Carrie----BIG fans! Love following along---thank you for making these great videos!
Very cool. Now is the time to do something like this. No downside. Enjoy. I will
YOU KIDS ARE THE BOMB. !!!!!!!!! this is going to be awesome. as a 40 year boat owner I can live vicariously watching your adventures. This is so much better than camping stuff
great. dynamite, awesome
I'm so excited to begin this adventure with you. My sailing days are over, but I can enjoy the excitement I see in the two of you. Good luck and God bless you and your work.
I hope y'all were as happy as I was to see the condition of the bottom of that old girl. I was expecting a lot worse and possibly years of growth along the keel but who ever they had scraping the bottom did a pretty good job and earned their money from what I saw. Yes it needs a bottom job but it could have been so much worse as anyone who's bought a boat to only find out on haul out/survey that it has been ignored or only half arse cared for can tell you. It really looks to me like you kids got one hell of a deal and knowing you're not afraid of a little hard work I for one can't wait to see how she's doing once you splash...
You guys are right there with Garret & Ruth, that should make it a lot more fun! Thanks for sharing.
I must admit I left the channel for a while. I like the sailing and adventure, but where I think you guys really shine is boat repair. I luv luv luv watching you guys do your thing and make an old boat new again. So I am re-subscribing to your channel and can't wait to see what's to come with this new project. I myself own a 43 year old trawler and live aboard full time. So let the fun begin!!!!
It is a good idea to clean it show your new "home" you want to be a responsible neighbor. Well done.
The two of you are positive energy generators. ☀
What is it about sanding?
Now that Parlay and Evans are on the water Tula starts sanding.
YES SANDING. Cheers for sanding!
All is well in the universe again.
'I cannot wait to see just how much work you are actually going to do. Lets get it started!!!
A composting toilet solves the boatyard problem (and is much better in every way than a marine toilet). We have our main (currently only) sink drain into a bucket. Using the yard showers is no problem but it is really handy to be able to use the loo on the boat.
You need foot hold on you ramp come rainydays, while renovation in progress, you need railing also. Your boat has begin to show its worthiness. Amazing
Such a positive attitude. Life will treat you well.
Oh yeah! Totally stoked now. I only missed you by seven hours this time. I may be late, but I making record time. 🤙🏼🍻
Excellent. So much better than land travel videos.
We screwed strips of wood across our ramp surface a foot apart to help our Goldens with traction. And less slippery when wet.
*A pressure washer often will not remove all dirt or mold it requires scrubbing, so your efforts were not wasted. Best from Seattle!* 🛥️
Hi Tula glad to see you back refiting your 100.00 Boat look forward to see your Boat work!!! Brent Gordon of Canada
AWESOME WORK PROS!!!!!!!! U HAVE HEARTS OF DIAMONDS AND U WORKING SUPER HARD ON FOLLOWING YOUR AMAZING DREAMS!!!!!!!' STAY HEALTHY AND THANK UUUUUUUUUUU!!!!! HAVE FUUUUNNNNNN CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE FINISHED 🚢
I'm so happy you guys are back on the water...
I follow some couple who have been building a container home over the past few years and they moved in so this is a nice follow up👌🏼
Great job building that ramp for Jetti! We’re super excited to see all the hard work and love you put into your trawler. Hopefully it will give us some insight on our trawler!
Couldn't take that smile off my face the entire video...
You guys embrace the challenge, see the love and opportunity, and your doggie is the best, all good!
Epic amount of work to restore a boat.
I think I am equally excited to see this build and you guys romping along in the Caribbean in your new cat. Congratulations and thanks for sharing
for a $100 boat, she doesnt look as bad as one would think out of the water. you guys might have lucked out on that one for sure. thats gonna be a nice one
Looks like a pretty solid boat. At least you don’t have to worry about standing rigging and sails! Cheers!
Awesome stuff! Looking forward to seeing this "diamond in the rough" transform through your experienced hands into the vision hidden within...
I love the fast forward and oh YES! Many hours spent. You have me smiling like many others. Ummmmm… yup! But have been there, done that. The result was quite a transformation! Great job! Well done!
I hope you guys are able to meet the youtube channel, salt and tar!! They completely built there own boat. They were in the same yard, hopefully they have sailed by now.
Yeah go check them out!
Really great video. For a couple people that are not use to the area..You guys did great navigating the Napa River. That channel has silted in so much over the years it is easy to run aground. Really looking forward to your future videos with this boat.
Jetty is an amazing boat hand one trip down the ramp and Jetty is at home. You guys are in for an adventure on this one. This is a big boat with lots of sanding and a boatload of painting. The you will have no shortage of video content that for certain. Stay happy and safe thanks for sharing
You guys are amazing. Billy your ramp was a great idea. It would be fun after each episode you roll up the costs spent so far on this new project.
Oh mannnnn... I was so bummed by one detail. I just noticed that this was only posted a couple of days ago! I came across your video, watched it, and jumped into your channel to binge watch the whole story and it hasn't happened yet! So, now I'm going to have to learn patience. {Sigh}. Anyway, great video. This is exciting. I can't wait to see the adventure with the trawler. Good luck guys!
Luv Trawler ❤️ content. Miss the old boat 🚢......I will hit the smash button "like" 👍 and comment to help out. Huge fan 👏 🙌.
The music while cleaning was spot on🤣🤙
Love your show. I am so fired up to see your new project. I am watching you from the San Francisco Bay Area. All the best with your new project!
Super stoked. That boat isn't as bad as at it seems.
I'm excited. Can't wait to see it completed.
What a project to start while waiting for your new boat!!!! Lots of work, not sure if I would do this, but it’s your project and I will follow you guys! Best of luck! God bless! You
Been watching for years. You guys have exciting adventures that take real grit. I'm just here to support the journey🤟 cheers🌅🥂
Hull has a serious deep v ocean going shape which makes the boat a good purchase. Way to go!
I whish you good luck to that huge amount of work.
On one hand I love that boat but on the other side I know how much work there will be.
Omg a Defever!!!!! Ahhhhhhh! 100$ WHATTT! This is awesome! More vids please! Love the ramp for Jetty! Agree a bit slippery but I know you'll fix that to! Soon, a Defever in the West & a Cat on the East!!! Omg best of both worlds "Snowbirds"!!!
Hello from Alberta Canada. Purchasing the trawler for $100 was a great investment both business and accommodation wise. Both of you know boats well enough to be able to have made an informed decision, lemon or doable project?. Exciting project it appears to be, easy for me to say cus its not my cash. Hey weather you decide to keep her for some West coast escapes, charter it out, relocate it to Fla or ultimately sell her you've got options. Take a year + - to live in, upgrade and sail while the catamaran is being built sounds like a plan. This way the pressures of waiting on the catamaran built may be less. So go for it cant wait to see what you do with her. Thanks for taking us along. See you next week.
This boat is in good hands. I like boat rework videos so I am excited for this project.
Susan 7 Tony here, Ok forget what we said about running. Looks like you are well in hand on this project.
I have been following for some time, and will stay with you guys on land, or whatever boat you are on. Love your honesty, excitement, energy, and chemistry. 😁😘
It’s been fun to watch the progress on Instagram. Thanks for that and then a more in-depth on RUclips.
this is going to be a banger of a series
glad to see you back on a trawler..
That's a great boat for $100. And it cleaned up very nice when you washed it
Love the growth on the fenders, “cruise much?” Lol. Cleaning helped a lot even if it’s phycological.
I’m looking forward to the watching the refitting of the “ new boat” and maybe some west coast cruising for a change!
I hope your refit is going well, you guys are an inspiration
Out of all your adventures, even the first trawler you guys had, ive never been more excited to see a project completed.
Dear TES couple and dog.
👍👌👏 2) Simply fantastic that so much on this luxurious boat is still working well. 3) You two definitely remind me much of the Sailing Magic Carpet couple Maya and Aladino. The same can do attitude and you even look a little bit similar. That's at least what I instantly thought while watching my first video on this channel (the resume after selling).
I'm eagerly looking forward to watch the rest of this restoration.
Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health in particular. To all 3 of you of course.
Post Scriptum: The marina that kicked you out and was so unfair with their parking lot, should be banned by the boat community.
It moves and floats. :) SCRUB and JETTY bridge. Good girl Jetty
I’m excited too!
You should cut short boards every couple of feet for treads across the plank to help with traction going up and down the ramp
You guys are crazy, but what a fun project! So great that most everything works, looking forward to more episodes!
Very cool. I live in Napa
When you get a chance install some cross cleats on the ramp to make it less slippery when it gets wet.
Awesome!! She looks like a dream
I’m very excited, looking forward to it all.
Add hand rails to the ramp, maybe some adhesive non skid. Best wishes as you go forward.
Congratulations…I am jealous and envious…looks like a lot of potential and you have a solid game plan…be safe and steady as she goes…
I think it’s great and you two are so good at it
Without looking at Google, I think the phrase is” idle hands are the devils playground?”
Anyway, a very big part of me is happy you’re back in a Trawler. Lol.
The ramp is awesome, but maybe some sand texture paint or just some 1x1 slats to keep you from sliding down it. I am excited to see where this boat goes. The improvement of just washing it was major! Yet we know there is a lot of work to be done.
You did not say how long you would be in the boat yard, but you could set up a composting toilet and make life on the hard a lot easier.
You are both...inspiring!
Congrats on building ur Ramp for Jetti and to beable to walk on and off ur Boat.
sierra is so pretty btw!!!!!!
You two have so much energy. I enjoy watching your YT Channel. So cool you’re both always smiling and enjoying life.
Great project and great investment. Done right you will make some money!Proud of you kids!
you should tac 1/4 inch thick 1 inch wide strips up the length of that ramp about every 8 inches .safety first. if your feet slip they wont go more than that 8 inches . . save you from sliding and going off the sides. short falls are usually worse than long ones.
Ya'll got a great attitude!
I love watching refits, so I’m in.
Good for you guys!
Can't wait❗ having done this before, get a crew to soda blast the bottom , save your fore arms and energy for other sanding projects 😀
Glad to see you 3 back on the water brief as it was. Cant wait to see what you do with this adventure as I have enjoyed watching all of them thus far!
I would buy a pack of shingles and tack them onto your ramp. Pretty inexpensive way to keep you from sliding off. Looking forward to this series.
Great stuff, can’t stop smiling with you, and No your not mad, love your enthusiasm 👏
I’m going to follow your incredible journey with this trawler. You’re both very nice looking and fun to watch. Keep a positive attitude.
Love to watch y’all do boat projects. Your display of resourcefulness and ingenuity always amaze, delight and teach me.🫶
