I purchased a 2024 Envista ST in October 2023. I am happy to say at the one year mark I myself have had no rattles. I can see where that would be annoying and am happy to report mine has not produced any rattles in the first 12 months of ownership. My ONE gripe about the Envista is the lack of the back window wiper. While I understand their not adding it, when you own one of these vehicles and it is raining hard or when it fogs up this creates an issue when backing. Othrewise, I have been very happy with the vehicle. I was told to change the oil every 3-4K miles with full synthetic oil by my local mechanic because of the 3 cycl turbo engine.
@@heathwagner6351 glad to hear yours is going well. I’m really hoping mine and the ones I’m seeing with issues in the Envista Owners page on Facebook are the exception, not the norm. Unfortunately, I’m likely not going to have mine much longer. The parts wait times have just been terrible, paired with just mediocre customer service from my rep from Buick. I’m sad to say, I’m done. I hope they continue to work on improving the vehicle. And I hope you continue to enjoy your Envista. I’d also recommend when you get to your destination, let the vehicle idle for a minute or so, just to let the oil continue to circulate in the turbocharger. Because once the engine is off, oil flow is cut, and the turbo gets very hot. So if you can keep that oil flowing for a bit, it helps to move some of that heat away so it doesn’t cook the oil they’d left in the turbocharger.
I would also test drive a hybrid Maverick and Mazda CX-30. If you buy this tiny 3 cylinder turbo, good idea to change the oil every 4 thousand miles with full synthetic, and keep up with coolant and spark plug changes. Maybe add pieces of foam to try to fix rattles.
Owers is approaching 22k. SO far we had an update which we took to the dealership. I believe so far with the enviata that it might be hit or miss like most brands these days. It servers the purpose for the price oint. I think it will be great car as any if you read up on your owners book and do maintenance on it.
Great review - thanks. I have a fully equipped ST model that I purchased 3 months ago and I don't have any issues w/ excessive rattles, sorry. This is my 1st Buick car, I love the way it looks and it rides ok. So I must admit that so far, the car has been pretty good. Now what I don't like about the car is the fact that Buick DID NOT put a wiper on the rear glass like the Trax has because when it rains hard, it really hard to see out the rear window. I wish they would make a better option for the placement of drive shifter. I'm tall and my leg seems to always rest on the shifter. I feel like I might push it out of gear accidently. Also, they didn't put a rear seat armrest w/ cup holders for backseat passengers on the ST trim....I'm like who does that. The car does need more horsepower, at least 250Hp, a Heads Up Display and Yes, I agree, they need to install Ventilated seats and a better sound system! Also, make AWD as an option. It's like the saying, build it and they will buy it. The Envista ST is great looking car and I would certainly pay more for all the upgraded luxury items. But If Buick doesn't, then this will probably be my last and only Buick.
GM lost my business due to their customer service after I bought a Cruze years ago and it was a lemon, brand new off the lot and it spent 5 months in the shop right after buying it and they tried everything they could to NOT replace the vehicle for me. I was a GM customer for life before that. I've had my Hyundai Sonata for 8 years and 230k miles now and would buy another in a heartbeat before going back to GM
Coming out of college and buying a new vehicle? I don't think so..... They're not giving them away and you just got out of college with a huge student loan that needs to be paid back and no job!!! These auto makers are on glue if they think that these young individuals are able to buy these piles of junk!!!! I'm 61 and still driving truck with no student loans, a few cards and a 20k personal loan. My 2005 Subaru Outback is paid off, had the head gaskets done and has been a reliable vehicle for me for the past 8 years. Why would I want to mess this perfect harmony up?
You gotta do what you gotta do. :) But for a recent graduate that already has a job lined up, this is a perfect car. Brand new, very nicely equipped, very nicely styled. As long as they can address the supply chain issue, I'm still recommending it. It's still one of the best new car values on the market right now and used car prices are still inflated and used car interested rates are 3-5% higher than new car interest rates.
Exactly the same for me. I have a fully equipped ST and my only issue has been excessive rattles especially in the trunk area. GM tried to fix it 3 times to no avail… i have gutted the entire trunk area and the problem is pretty much the entire frame. Seems to be a problem with the soldering pr something like this.
I had rattling in my evista and I solved the problem found out it was the lug key once I properly secured that lug key the rattle went away it’s in the spare tire😮
Thanks for this review. I’m in the market for a new car and the rattling and customer service issue is a deal breaker for me (I have a 10 yr old car ((in really Good condition)) that rattles, don’t need a new one that does it as well). Have had my eyes on this particular car but won’t even bother with the headache.
I have the 2025 Envista Avenir. I’ll have to listen for rattles don’t recall. My question to you what are your oil change intervals? I’ve seen recommendations to half the manufacturers suggested schedule which I believe is 7500. Did you keep the schedule or modify to every 3k, 4k, knowing that it has a turbo?? Few issues I’ve had so far is they had to replace the radio at 300miles, on 2 occasions while driving the entire instrument panel rebooted went black then restarted. At first I thought it was updating or something, but then thought why would it do that while driving. No issues with driving but for those few seconds no speed display etc. Other issue found so paint bubbling and starting to peel by the headlights that portion is plastic. So next week I have to take it in so they can send to a body shop to address. Kind of frustrating, I bought it with 3 miles. As far as I’m concerned with a new vehicle all I should be doing is putting in gas until the first oil change. I now have 860 miles on it.
I do changes when I have 30% oil life remaining, which is typically about 5500-6000 miles. One thing you should consider doing is to let the vehicle idle for a bit when arriving to your destination. These turbochargers are oil cooled. Shutting off the engine immediately cuts the oil flow, so in a way it's "cooking" the oil that is in the turbo if you just shut it off. I had a 2016 Cruze and I did this, and I made it to almost 200k before my turbo started to let go. Yeah, the launch hasn't gone as smoothly unfortunately. On one of my first test drives, the dealership didn't remove some plastic that had gotten wrapped around the exhaust, and by the time we go on the freeway the vehicle was surrounded in a cloud of plastic/chemical smoke.lol I didn't buy it from that dealership.lol I fear that GM is putting too much pressure on their Korean operations to pump these out, so perhaps QC is suffering. One thing to watch out for is the tow hook cover on the front grille. It seems to be weaker on the ST and Avenir vs the Preferred, and has been known to fall off. It's covered under warranty, but of course annoying that it happens. Also the rear chrome accents are also weak on more recent Envista models. Particularly it looks like they may have switched suppliers for the adhesive used to attach them to the vehicle as the 2025 models and later 2024 models seem to have issues with the accents coming loose, particularly in car washes. Yeah, it is what is. It's really a great vehicle feature-wise. But the issues are frustrating, and the way some dealerships and GM in general are handling things is even more frustrating. As I type I'm on my 3rd round of trips to the dealerships to try and get the rattles resolves. The last trip, they actually broke the rear hatch trip or something like that, and they have to order a whole new trim assembly. It's going to be a 2 week wait for those parts to come in. Then they gotta fix that bit, and maybe we have to reset in trying to fix the original rattle. I've looked at the Subaru Crosstrek as "what if I traded it" and while nice, it definitely felt like a step down. No disrespect intended to Subaru, but with the Buick Envista you feel like a member of the country club. With the Subaru Crosstrek, you feel like you work at the country club. Good luck with yours. I recommend joining the Buick Envista Owners page on Facebook if you haven't already.
@@TheLightworkz 7500 is too much even for a non- turbo engine. 5000 miles or six months. If you do all city driving, it’s really important. I have a 2011 Chevy Malibu and I’ve had it since 2012. I run full synthetic and they recommend you can run up to a crazy 10,000 miles. I have never run the oil that long. Normally, if I follow percentage in the instrument cluster, it’s usually a little on the conservative side. So far my car takes less than a half a quart between oil changes and the car has 132,000. i’m considering buying the Avenir. I would be changing the oil at what I do on my current car maybe even a little sooner.
@@markhorst3628 thanks for the food for thought!!! I now have about 1600miles. I think I plan to change at 3000 miles then at 5000, and every 5000 after.

How do you find the RPM when cruising on an expressway between 65 and 70 miles an hour? I drive some Expressway but usually when I do, it’s like an hour and a half one way. I’m concerned about it out RPM to cruise and pass
I have a 2024 Chevy Trax Activ, 80 MPH on the highway, 2600 RPMs, 31.6 MPG. This little three cylinder turbo engine has more then enough power for everyday driving. Not fast, 0-60 8.9 seconds, but it does feel quite spunky. I bought my trax in March. Just put it in storage for the winter October 20th. I have 8,100 trouble free miles, I love this little CAR, SUV, CUV, or what ever you want to call it.
Haven't really driven much in the snow. If you go to the Facebook group Buick Envista Owners, there's a lot of people around there talking about the Envista. I know I've seen some say it's okay in the snow, about on par with any other FWD vehicle. As for the weight, I'd imagine that if anything you'd want the weight in the front since those are the wheels pull the vehicle and provide the most stopping power. The rear is really just being pulled along for the ride. And of course tires are very important in the snow. If you're in a snowy climate, you should consider getting true winter tires, not just all season tires. An AWD vehicle with all season tires will likely still out accelerate a FWD vehicle with snow tires. But a FWD vehicle with snow tires will almost always outperform the AWD vehicle with all season tires in stopping/braking performance.
This is a FWD car, adding weight to the back does not affect traction. FWD cars do great in the snow. I live in New England and have had 3 FWD cars that handle snow with complete aplomb.
Subaru Crosstrek and Mazda CX-30. But dollar for dollar, neither have what then Envista has for a higher price. I think part of the problem is because the vehicle is pretty quiet, I have no choice but to pick up some of the rattles that I may have otherwise ignored or to even noticed.
Yeah, I'm working with them currently. As mentioned in the video, they've been very sluggish to address this. The lady just doesn't understand customer service.lol
I'm really hoping the I just had bad luck, and that it's not a result of the design/engineering of the vehicle. It's a very important vehicle for the Buick brand and for GM.
