I did the exact same to my 43x. When i took that first file stroke across the rear lugs I said, theres no turning back now! Came out great and co-witness perfect with stock sights.
I was just thinking to myself “I hope this works or I’m going to look like more of an idiot than I usually do!” But yes, it works perfectly. Put 200 rounds through yesterday and it’s holding.
What I had to do on the s&w plus. I like that eps. May have to swap out my 507k to that dot. After carrying It the 507k is full of lint and everything else. Great video.
I did this exact thing to my G48 about 2 years ago. I put on a Holosun 407k and I had to shave down the front posts just a little. It’s held on great. Haven’t lost zero
Checkering will happen for sure! I keep going back and forth about the sights. Mainly, I don’t know what I want lol Suggestions? Front is not a dovetail
@@nobodytraining The best target sights for the GI gun is made by Kensight. The : 950-323C is the most requested sights I have installed for the past 30 years. Fusion Also sells quite a number of carry sights for the GI slides but my personal favorite is the Kensight adjustable by far.
Also, the most used load for the .45 ACP is 4.3 grains of Clay Dot with a 200 grain anything. The wadcutters give the best paper punching holes but I have found that the TC type bullets give the best accuracy out of most pistols and especially out of guns with fitted barrels. Everglades sells a plated 200 grain TC that everyone around these parts loves because they come in .452 diameter. With this load and bullet combo it is not unusual to see 1/2" groups at 25 yards and they are a real pleasure to shoot because of the extremely low recoil.
Sorry for the delay. I was out at the range. I’ll have to check it out. I want to have something that could be an upgrade but still pay homage to its 1911A1 roots. That’s the problem. It has 3 dot sights now
Everyone I know who buys a glock end's up having to modify the gun so extensively it end's up being like a completely different gun.. if u buy a gun for $500 then u put $600 into it in mods why don't u just use that $ to buy a really good gun?
That isn’t a phenomenon to Glocks alone. There are a lot of platforms that people do the exact same thing to. If there’s aftermarket support then people will customize. Besides, it’s fun!
It’s not really to make them modern per se. It’s that glock doesn’t really make the platform with the performance that people want. But that gives us the opportunity to tinker 😎
@@nobodytraining I guess that was the point I was trying to make, I just feel like by the time u finish modifying a Glock u could have something better.. And thats not to say the Glock isn't without its perks, reliability can't be beat
@@WettDoggTV Dremelling off a couple of posts isn't a $600 mod, nor does it make it a completely different gun. People mod every pistol under the sun, why wouldn't they mod Glocks too?
Another educational video of what NOT to do!!! Not only did you just void your warranty, you just put 3x more pressure on the screws for another failure point. Get a C&H Adapter plate and do it right, you can still use the stock sights since their plate is very thin unlike the one from Holosun.

so, how do you turn doen the mounting screws to mate...PERFECTLY?
Well I don’t know about perfectly…but I hold the screw head in rubber vise jaws and take a thread at a time when I’m getting close.

That’s the reason why I didn’t choose the 507k. I’m too lazy to remember to clean 🤣

@@nobodytraining now the choice on the glock...... agree to disagree 😂

I figured it should hold up well. It’s good to have confirmation!
I'd like to see groups and different distances.
Another excellent and educational video. I am waiting on the new sights for the 1911 project and maybe some hand checkering on the front strap?
