Now there's no one to stop Ganon...
He should have stayed hidden in the bushes to avoid the guards.
Was the judge a bokoblin
That’s the U.K. in 2024, jail you for this, suspended sentence for rape or murder?
Blame woke tabloids
Indeed the UK. Thankfully the guy looks a big lad so may do ok inside.
Things have gone dinlo in recent times in the UK. You can be treated like a terrorist if you cause a car accident that slightly injures others these days. 3 years suspended, one mistake and you do the rest inside... And they moan prison space is running out.
@@Marmite101 “woke tabloids” 🤣 no, blame gross mismanagement of the British justice system (mostly under the Tories).
All are a problem in the Uk.
@@DissociatedWomenIncorporated No. Blame both. Both are equally responsible for partaking in the propaganda.
There's kids carrying knives all around London daily and nobody cares, but a dude walks around with a toy sword and the entire british SWAT team comes down. Britain is so ridiculous, so loose on serious crimes and so heavy-handed on petty nonsense
At this point a metal ruler will get you sentenced for life imprisonment.
Of COURSE it's Britain lmao
Put your cap gun away cowboy 😂
To be fair here in the United States there are some up-tight jail you for profanity towns that are authoritarian Stupid enough to jail someone for something like this on a slow quota week😢😮😮
The USA has a lot of restrictive laws about things like knives and brass knuckles. And they’re unconstitutional laws - the 2nd amendment doesn’t say “firearms” it says “arms”. Maybe if there was a multibillion dollar nunchuk industry with its own lobbyists, the law would be interpreted differently.

It's wild how far blade laws went in the UK. From 19th century dudes having unsanctioned duels to the point where hospitals were clogged up, to not being allowed to carry work tools without risking jail time.
In US, I carry 3 blades on me at all times!!! One for food related tasks, one for utility, and one for piece of mind!!!

In most cities in Canada the cops could confiscate it if they were feeling like being assholes. Toronto they would open fire without warning. Otherwise, four months in prison, wow.
In US, it depends on the state. NY, could get you shot, Arizona, cop would probably ask you where you got it, so they could get one too, and everything in between!!!
@tmapes1989 I mean, if you're swinging around on the subway cops might shoot.
To be fair to UK law enforcement. They know only Link can have the Master Sword 🗡️
These cops obviously don't have real criminals to deal with. They must be bored out of their minds.
There's literally an epidemic of R@p3 gangs in Britain. They choose to go after people like this instead.
Thats clearly a collectible that no one would use for crime. Wheres the grip?? What reason would the police have to stop him??
"The Legend of Zelda, The Sentence to Jail"
Oi, you got a license for "The Blade of Evil's Bane" there mate?
I got a home visit from the cops because i bought and tried to import a kershaw pocket knife to use at my work from white mountain knives in the usa. They destroyed my £100 knife because it was illegal in their words.glad i never showed them the smith and wesson knife i was replacing this with! The British police are too busy going after soft easy targets.
They care little about stopping any crime that involves them being embroiled in a physical conflict.
Pahahaha. What next a sentence for for pokemon cards. They could be used as ninja throwing stars. This country is hilarious.
4 month prison sentence along with his life is now financially f**ked because of a criminal record. Home insurance will go up loads, car insurance is near impossible to get, any insurance for that matter, with an "offence" that should have no impact on any of them.
My old lady has found multiple kitchen knives, a Kukri Knife hidden in the woods when she's out rubbish collecting, a mini sword is the least of their worries.
This guy already had a record going back 35 years. He's been to prison many times.
@@skree_fpv436 Well nothing lost then by this incident, ha ha.
Wow was his lawyer Drunk or something?
The UK, and probably every other country in Europe, does monitor CCTV cameras as a form of active surveillance and deterance. There is a significantly higher threat of terrorism throughout Europe since there are no natural barriers separating Europe from the middle-east, northern Ireland, Russia, etc.
Yeah UK is crazy with their cams everywhere. Police can rarely give a slap on the wrist cuz they're always monitored. Kind of like the body cams on a lot of police in California. It just makes the police more strict to cover their ass.
It’s dangerous to go alone
Some woman’s fingernails are longer than that sheesh…I knew this old bloke that used to carry a pen behind his ear all the time and i asked him why do you carry a pen like that all the time and he said you cant get charged with a deadly weapon a pen you can carry he also said you can cause a lot of damage with a pen
You think that's f....up? Check this out in Rochester, NY, in 2015 I had a fair hearing at DSS and when I go through security they notice a metal crucifix and don't allow me to enter. I refuse to leave and say this is ridiculous. They call the police on me and 5 cops arrive armed to the teeth! They say they were told a drug addicted criminal was making trouble! And the police made me leave! I feared physical harm and that my x-ray tech license could be tarnished. In another incident a man's wife is manhandled by DSS security and the husband calls the police...they didn't want to come and never came!😡
I have several of these swords and gifted some to people. I like them bc the sword can't hurt you. Lol.
I'm sure if you applied enough force it most certainly would
@@Marmite101I think for that to happen you have to be very close and very crazy. Lol.
@@Marmite101 Look at that handle, it's like 1.5 inch long. What are you gonna do, comically hold it in between two fingers and swing it around? And well, if you applied enough force, basically anything pointy can do damage. In that regard, a sturdy steel pen might actually be more effective than this. Hell, you could even use a metal straw, it even comes with the bonus of channeling the blood out lol. Hit the right spot, gone in seconds.
Put u.k on a list of places to avoid for sure
i live next to Nuneaton he was carrying it around the town centre with all the shoppers about. also has been a couple of recent murders in the town teenage stabbings so its zero tolerance atm
You don’t have to have a specific reason to have a blade like a pocket knife under the legal length limit, but you do if it’s over. So if he could’ve proved he had a good reason for carrying a letter opener in public, he wouldn’t have been jailed. Four months is too harsh, but he did mess up.
You are talking about a country that posted a picture of sharp object that were confiscated, among them was a spoon. Then there was that one time in Canada, during Star Wars day, some moron called the cops on a person in storm trooper armor with a blaster saying they had a gun. They did a felony stop on her and broke her nose....
Dafuq? Hadnt heard those stories, but thats crazy. Seems like using common sense and being just slightly analytical gets thrown out the window.
Eyes of ganon are everywhere be careful
The UK is a sad, sad place. They have no freedom.
It's okay if you are lucky to live in the countryside. I wouldn't go near any of the bigger towns and cities.
Like USA is better... Homeless Dumpster fire
Not buying the fidget toy excuse, he might be the nicest bloke and/or really dumb, but he would of known the law
Here in the UK it's illegal to carry any blade or pocket/pen knife, there's been to many stabbings in the cities, although most were those larger blades or Rambo knives
Was he harming someone?
@@EnriqueMcQuade criminal history
@Marmite101 you know that how?
I going to assume that after this man serves his prison sentence for brandishing a deadly zelda sword that he will refrain from carrying any type of perceived weapon out in public in the foreseeable future. I could be wrong though.🤔
Highly doubtful, showing this sentence is meant as a deterrent armed at others less criminal minded to consider
@@Marmite101 you mean aimed🤔
Must have been a slow day on the beat for the Bobby’s.
missing info: What’s missing from every report about this I could find, and what is so crucial to understanding this story, however is that Anthony Bray is a repeat offender with a long rap sheet and numerous prison sentences, several of which were for burglary including serial burglary. In 2011, Bray was convicted and sentenced to four years in prison after getting “three strikes” for burgling residences. But his run-ins with the law go back to 1989 and he was in court numerous times throughout the 90s as well.
Sounds to me like attempted character assassination to make the police look more reasonable here. None of that matters, this was a letter opener and he should have just been let off with a warning at worst (I would still say it's not a blade, period). At worst fine the man for carrying it in public after repeated warnings. But no, the British police are completely out of line with this one and they know it was a flagrant abuse of power.
@Blaumagier then asks yourself why the other story didn't say he didn't have a criminal record. You and I don't know the whole story. All I did was provide more information. Does the police department in that city have a history of making stories up or giving out 4 month sentences for a misdemeanor. Usually the police fine you or confescate the item. I'm not telling you what to think. Just do more actual research. Cop doesn't always equal bad and citizen doest equal good in all cases.
So, he has already been convicted and served his time for previous, unrelated crimes? That doesn't justify additional jail time for nonsense.
@bloodshed1980 read the article. There's more to it, but other than that, I have no opinion.
@@fkat1666 Which article exactly do you promote as having "more to it" and not "missing from every report"? You're bringing up unrelated convictions as evidence that there's more to this specific encounter. Help me understand how his crimes in 1989 provide any justification for this charge.
You need a loicense for that mate.
THAT"S NOT A KNIFE!!! LOL
All that for 6 inches of Zelda?
Sure, it has a point. But how can you grip a 1.5" mini-handle effectively to apply the force necessary to actually hurt someone?? This is wildly impractical as a weapon. What gross abuse of the intention for that law to ruin people's lives.
The UK knife laws are bullshit. You need to have a reason to carry a knife and yes the max length is 3 inches. I really good explanation of UK knifes laws was on a recent BlackBelt Barrester video.

What was he doing?

he must have really pissed off the wrong person. or he threatened someone with it.
He approached police officers with it in his hand lol...NOT a good idea!
4 inches max non locking blade for an EDC. There are exceptions to that rule but a larger fixed blade is a better exception to a smaller locking blade. The exception is if you have a valid reason for carry, eg too and from work, camping or otherwise place where use of that blade would be considered reasonable to have. If it looked like a knife. Could be used as one and there's no practical reason for you to be carrying it (I can't imagine the guy was opening letters while going about his every day business) then he's got a hell of a lot of explaining and possible prosecution. I for arguments sake as a forager could probably get away with carrying a larger fixed blade knife if I could prove that I was on my way to or from a foraging ground. The word reasonable is one that's used a lot in UK law and if you have a resonable excuse for carrying any blade you can expect a lot more leniency from the law (not garunteed of course) for carrying it. "I carry it because it's cool" is never going to be accepted as a resonable argument no matter how cool it is lol. I think guns and sticks of dynamite are cool. It doesn't mean I can walk in public with them exposed in my hands. a letter opened belongs on a desk in someone home to open letters with. The only resonable argument for it belonging on a person in public is they have just procured it and are taking it home. Or are taking it somewhere else to be used. Can't really use that argument if you're openly carrying it though. That argument only works if it's concealed in a way that makes it not readily accessable to be used as a weapon
It's 3" max, not 4"
Seems he was a Career criminal...
This is totally, totally insane.
I think he needs a better lawyer. You have to understand the spirit of the law and not just the letter of the law. Fine him, and make him pickup trash for a week. He seems ok.
Confiscating the toy should be enough of a punishment. They stole his stuff, charged him a fine he should never pay, and threw him in prison. Outrageous.
Yep can’t carry any blade bigger than 3 inches that includes the part of the blade in the handle around or this happens but I can buy chief knife set and carry that home no issues go figure
Only if it's sealed in it's packaging
The Uk law on bladed items is all about intent. I can walk down the the street with a full katana sword if I have a good reason and no ill intent, but if I have a 4 inch letter opener and no good reason the it’s a crime.
The fact that it has that tiny handle should be enough to tell anyone with common sense it's meant as a letter opener or simple display piece. No one is handling that to actually harm someone. I mean i have seen letter openers almost exactly like that (without the zelda theming) in my grandafthers desk. How does that qualify as a blade when you cant even hold it properly, and it does have its own purpose. Smh
