Well it’s totally rad that you saw them in arguably their heyday, there in the city, in a somewhat intimate setting. Experiencing epic live music of any sort is my favorite way to feel like I am participating in history. I miss live music. I sometimes feel concerned that the whole live music experience in general is history. Pretty sure if this tribute were to happen now due to a later induction of the Beastie Boys, with the larger spotlight on this ceremony now, I'd expect a more thoughtful tribute backed by a larger budget that would include interviews with AC/DC, Aerosmith, Rick Ruben, Russell Simmons, RUN DMC, and perhaps include George Clinton and Parliament in the musical tribute who performed with them on the lollapalooza tour. Not to mention the connection to NWA and Dre being massively influenced by them.
