Hi Nick. Was all of the surface rock you were looking at from blasting or did you have exposed sections of the seam? It may be time to bring in some digging equipment or do some core samples to see if that seam does dip back down on your claim. Not a claim jumper, just a curious rockhound. I usually hunt in Southern AZ and I'm always trying to figure out how geology decides where to put the good stuff.
Hi Dan, I drill holes in Concrete for a living. The ROK Drill bits you are using are absolute garbage. Spend the money on Hilti Drill bits & if you can try to keep them cool by pouring water on them intermittently. Your cost per hole will be lower.
I think that a lot of us have been concerned about the landslide affecting Dan. He's obviously a great guy. Let's hope for not just Dan, but everyone else along those rivers. Take care, and you also stay safe.
Hey Dan. Can I make a suggestion? Maybe bring multiple bits with you and rotate them. That'll allow each one to cool. Or keep a bucket of water and dip them often. Nice to see you being a kind and generous guy. Good on ya!
I loved hearing the voice of the feather wedges as you drove them into the holes, Dan. For the most part, I could hear the tone go up with each blow of the hammer, and it was exciting (and sometimes cringy) to hear the rock split in anticipation of seeing how it broke & what it revealed. Great video, Dan! ❤🎉😊

Watching the use of "feather-and-wedge" always reminds me of the days when I used a sledge hammer to drive-in ground rods. I now use a bit made for that purpose that fits into the hammer-drill. I wonder if that would work for you. My shoulder always starts to ache when I watch. Keep going, I love the blue better than the gold.
I love finding rare rocks i found a emerald and a sapphire and in my garden i find some bones tiny on a black stone and im happy with it the geology i like fiding nature treasure.❤
"Absolutely inspiring! This video beautifully illustrates how even the toughest conflicts can transform into genuine friendships with the right approach. The serene backdrop of the Ocean Picture Stone Quarry adds an extra layer of peace and reflection to this powerful message. Kudos to everyone involved in this incredible journey!"
When I first saw the picture stones some time ago, I did not appreciate their beauty. Now I see the attraction, and I love how different the patterns can be, Nice job, Dan!
This is the first time I've heard musical tones from the featherin' wedges as you hammer/ As a musician this is really cool ( so in the beautiful stone)!
You amaze me! Once a teacher always a teacher. Many people don't understand the concept of trying to make peace. You did an excellent job showing a great example.
It must be awfully tempting when the mother load vein is less than 100 feet away. Trail cams can be pretty well hidden these days, so if you see one, realize that it's probably there _for_ you to see, and not what is actually reliably recording you.
Stay constantly pouring water as you drill or stop frequently and dip your bit in water to cool it off as your drilling, those bits will last a lot longer!
Your always great to watch. I'm so happy for you, it fills my heart that your happy doing what you love. . Thanks for making the videos. You keep on rocking my friend. ❤
Absolutely love this stone. If money was no object, I'd love to take a large slab and recreate it in mosaic form with chips (obviously the mosaic would look and be like the original but larger)
Ocean picture stone Is my fave!! I love these vids & good to see ppl actin like adults & your generosity of givin him 5ft off your claim to have finds If he does!!
Dan your wedges are spalling on the top where you repeatedly hammer on them, as you’ve seen yourself the edges will break off and when they fly they have incredible energy and could cause you injury! Please take the time to grind off the ends properly to recondition that end of the tool, stay safe so you can keep me entertained with your vids.
I'm a new sub, just watched one of your older videos. Of course your a teacher lol, your awesome dude. The world needs more people like you! Thank you for the videos, love all your rock and gem ones!
Dan I really enjoy your video's very entertaining and interesting. I would suggest that you use" Hilti" brand drill bits, yes they cost more but will out perform all other cheaper bits by a wide margin. Clear the rock dust from the hole as you are drilling, friction makes huge heat and shortens bit life.
I love your jewelry made with this beautiful stone! I learn so much from you. I’ve followed you with others digging crystals. I would love to go digging for amethyst!
Great show Dan I'm excited for the upcoming shows about the Fraser River and the landslide and what had occurred for you I'm hoping it went something like it was the river stopped and you went down there and found gold everywhere Gold Rush all over again just right where your claim is question do you ever find gold in the picture Stone
Hey Dan, stumbled across your videos a few days ago and I’ve watched several already and really really enjoy it. It’s just as if I’m there helping you out without getting dirty or tired lol Next time I’m out Vancouver to visit my pal Dan I’ll try to get to visit you, Dan. I would actually help you out and get my hands dirty! Keep up the good work, Dan. Rudy Moncton NB
Dan get a big chop saw and run it down the line where you want the rock to break. then you can use feather and wedges with more accuracy and depth. usually i just use extra chisels in the groove i cut with the chop saw and eliminate the use of the hammer drill and those $20 bits. with my 14 inch saw i get about a 6 inches deep channel and can control the break 10x better than just feather and wedge.
I use these bits on a daily basis. I use rebar cutters and regular bits. And believe me I know what I am talking about. I have drilled thru 1" rebar with them. I use water constantly to keep the bits cool. And believe me it makes a difference. All lapidary equipment. Core drills. Diamond cutting saws. Etc Have water or oil lubricant to keep the blades and or drills cool. And it makes a difference. Dan knows this. He uses equipment like this all the time.
Good fences make good neighbors. There's nothing wrong with everyone knowing whats expected of them. Also, too bad that big one wont fit in the saw as is.
Some of the scenes along fast moving rivers where you have panned for gold are a spot-on match for some of the picture stone patterns. If you include some photographs of such areas (you could even use stills from past videos, of course) alongside appropriate slabs, I bet you could boost your in-person sales even more.
It's good to see adults acting like adults. The world would be so much better off if neighbors acted like neighbors and strangers acted like friends.
Thanks again dan for the great opportunity and the great Stone I'm glad we were able to figure things out.

Hilti. Is quality.
Love watching you play the Dwarven xylophone! Thanks for sharing!
I love hearing the wedge sing as you hit them
Stay Safe Dan. hope the landslide and ensuing flood doesn't drastically affect your claim in a bad way.
@Danhurd keep us posted on how things turn out. but also stay safe.

@@dobbo7690 Good point. lol
You’re a good man, Dan. I’d be proud to call you “neighbor”.
I'm digging the "music" your hammering makes on the wedges.
It's rather soft, but definitely there!
same such a nice sound
Hey Dan. Can I make a suggestion? Maybe bring multiple bits with you and rotate them. That'll allow each one to cool. Or keep a bucket of water and dip them often.

Dan its super cool that you did this video with your claim neighbor after the "controversy" that went down a few months ago
Good to cooperate with neighbors, it generally works out well for both sides of the boundaries.😊

Thats more than fair Dan. "Like a good neighbor Dan Hurd is there!"
"I'm just going to head over to RUclips to do some word-of-mouth advertising for a $150-billion insurance company that isn't paying me."

Good on you for working with your neighbours.
You found some amazing Blue today 💎Dan!

Thanks for coming on today Nick we enjoyed having you hope to see and hear from you again
I love the musicality of the feather wedging, the way the tones change as the tension changes.
Love that you got excited when Nick found some blue!
When I first saw the picture stones some time ago, I did not appreciate their beauty. Now I see the attraction, and I love how different the patterns can be, Nice job, Dan!
Mayhew Tools makes the best pry bars and chisels. I used to work there though so I'm biased. Haha.
You add the enjoyment, all wish able to dig stones.Thankyou!
This is the first time I've heard musical tones from the featherin' wedges as you hammer/ As a musician this is really cool ( so in the beautiful stone)!
I felt them myself. I'd have to play with them to understand what the tones meant.
Dan I always love these videos of ocean pictures stone. Keep up the good work and may you find the best lot ever
You amaze me! Once a teacher always a teacher. Many people don't understand the concept of trying to make peace. You did an excellent job showing a great example.
I would love a ring made out of the blue and white material. Gorgeous stone!!!!
That was nice of you to give Nick a big rock I’m sure they got some over there but it gotta be deep
My goodness you have the best picture stone i have ever seen good job
Where else have you seen OPS? I'm looking for rough stone from when Dan's claim was mined by the previous owners decades ago.
I hope they find a Lovely seam! They seem like nice guys.
Hope you stay safe- heard about some nasty landslides up from the Fraser River! (Potential flash flooding, etc) Hope you have a wonderful day!
Thanks Dan . You Da Best .
Thanks Nick! Boys being like Nick.
That stone is really growing on me. It looks so amazing.
What a diplomatic way to say “stay off my claim”. 😂

Howdy Dan ! Great Nayber & great Ocean Blue Stone video !
"really nice crack" seems like good text for a t-shirt...
This was a workout day for sure. Good work!❤
soooo pretty 🤩 i know it’s hard work but it also looks like so much fun 😊

top little show Dan, keep having fun.
hope your dad is doing well, like seeing you and him in your videos
I like the darker blue... it looks more like a storm
Until this episode, I had not really been interested in non-gold items. BUT some of these pieces are really cool.
You are a good man and neighbor!!!!
Selling pieces from a certain video idea is gangbusters. I hope you get bought out! beautiful stuff Dan.
Perhaps using water from the puddle may reduce the drill wear Dan.
nicely done that was just a bunch of work. thank you for sharing the adventure and information 😅😅😅

I've been payin attention to the deal you face with the rivers going nuts. Good thing to see many of your claims up high.
So much hard work goes into each one!!
Oh mercy!! I don't get paid until next week!!! I so would love a quality rock in the rough !
Excelente aventura amigo un lugar realmente hermoso
Are you away from the part of the Frasier where the flood may happen when debris moves?? Be safe out there!! ❤❤ and respect from Texas!
Dan, I hope you get video of the flooding on the Fraser. At least log jams may be gone by on your clam

It seems to me that your gold fever extends beyond gold.
Good fences make good neighbors. There's nothing wrong with everyone knowing whats expected of them.
Also, too bad that big one wont fit in the saw as is.
Be careful around the frasier river now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you earn my sub every video Dan. thanks for all the content you provide us
Hey Dan, for that super hard rock that cooks your drill bits you could try predrilling with a much smaller bit. You'll never burn another drill bit.
Some of the scenes along fast moving rivers where you have panned for gold are a spot-on match for some of the picture stone patterns. If you include some photographs of such areas (you could even use stills from past videos, of course) alongside appropriate slabs, I bet you could boost your in-person sales even more.
Dude you are going to get a lot more new gold on the river after the water breaks through that landslide .
Apperently I am into colorful rocks these days. I did not expect this.
Those are some awesome stones Dan. Thank you for sharing this video. Michigan says hi.😎👍
Playing a tune on the wedges.
Dan when you're drilling use water to keep your bits cool and they will last a lot longer for you.
Amazing 😊
Hey Dan! You headed up to the Chilcotin River after the danger passes? I imagine that's gonna have a bunch of freed gold from that slide!
Be careful with the Fraser and potential flooding
Dan, have you ever considered using a concrete saw to make relief cuts you would get good slabs that way I would think
Great video dan
Nice video. Nice community. Pretty stone.❤
Good morning from Colorado
