  • This is the introduction to a series of videos that I hope will help demystify the furniture design process. It is an adaptation of the article I wrote for issue 305 of Furniture & Cabinetmaking Magazine.

Really looking forward to this series, I've been trying to improve my designs and incorporate more materials like you did in your mirror. By the way that mirror is outstanding, I love all the small intricate details you were able to include.

Looking forward to following along! ^^
Seems like good principles that help you ask better questions as you go through the process.

I will be watching this series to learn something for sure, but also because your signature wall mirror is quite impressive and almost seems to be related to an original cabinet piece (lower section) I recently completed. It close enough in style that I could easily imagine your mirror to be the the upper section of my cabinet, which is still in the design phase. So maybe your series will provide some inspiration.

That first coffee table you made:
The bolts are obviously rather ugly, and the top doesn't quite suit the design, but the proportions and general design are quite pleasing, I think.

Hi! Sorry to tell you, but the sound seems low to me

I'm new to video production and the software I'm using is woefully incapable of fixing many of the sound issues I've been having. I'm looking into switching to different software, but in the meantime, I'll have to keep limping aong with this..

@@themountaintopjoinersshop8422 if you can supply a separate audio track, you can probably use Audacity to do some work like levels adjustment, then re-import

Content appears to have value but man, you have GOT to improve your microphone set up. Can barely hear you with the bluetooth speakers set at 11.

I'm able to turn it up enough to hear it fine on all of my devices, but I've been getting that comment a lot. The cause (or at least one of them) has been removed, and the volume issue should be improved on future videos. Thanks for the constructive feedback.
