Madeleine L'Engle: _"And when I'm furious with God, what I'm like is my son when he was about 2, he would do something that was unworthy, and he would hit at me, and I would grab him and hold him tight until the monster had gone and the loving little boy was back. And that's when I'm doubting God, that's what I'm like. I want God to wrap me in the everlasting wings and say "There, there. It's alright." and that cosmic affirmation of yes."_
That must've been the premise behind Charles Wallace's predicament with IT. And having seen the two OK K.O. episodes about TKO on Cartoon Network MENA (the channel of the part of CN that broadcasts to the Islamic world), I have a suspicion that Dendy hugging K.O. and telling him he's "loved and appreciated" in You're In Control may have been inspired by this. I know the movie Interstellar is also similar to Wrinkle.

Madeleine L'Engle, continued: _"I know it's terrible, I know it hurts, but be patient. It's going to work out. I'm not gonna lose. I'm gonna win. It's alright. And that's the basic affirmation that I think only true doubters can come to."_
This reminds me of the part of Ralph Breaks the Internet where Ralph causes the giant virus-Ralph thing to disintegrate by getting over his insecurity with Vanellope leaving Sugar Rush for Slaughter Race. What I find similar to this is the part of the final episode of Steven Universe Future where Steven turns into a pink Godzilla-shaped giant monster, and many of the show's prominent characters approach him and remind him of things, such as that it's OK to let others know how he's feeling. With that in mind, he reverts back to his normal size and shape.

    >Faith is not reasonable, it is marvelous.
Christian faith is both reasonable and marvelous. raising and resolving doubts is a huge part of reasoning

Read Descartes' Meditation on First Philosophy, particularly parts 1-2, and see if you understand the point a little bit better.

Just look at those dead, empty eyes... Eyes that never shed a tear over a sinner bound for the judgment... Eyes that never beheld the glory of God.
Doubt nothin', I'm done with doubting, I believe, and it's settled, if you draw some sense of holiness from your lack of faith then you truly must be lost.

i think you missed her point? she's literally talking about the "Child-Like Faith" we're supposed to have. If we don't question our beliefs at times, and pursue direction or answers from God, all we are at that point is "Religious". We have to look at ourselves like a curious child seeking the reason for why things are as they are. At times, we may never get an answer to this, but a lot of the time, the Spirit of God will bring fresh revelation into what it is we're after.

In addition to missing the point entirely, Eli Jackson chose to condemn instead trying to understand where another human is at spiritually and emotionally. A very non-God-like action.
